Win The Plain White T's CD and Show Information!

The Plain White T's performed their hit "1,2,3,4" on Thursday, and afterward Ellen gave everyone in the audience their latest CD, "Big Bad World." You have a chance to win your own copy, but you've got to enter right here first!

Everyone in Ellen's Thursday audience was in some way involved in the recent wildfires that ravaged parts of Southern California. Firefighters, victims and family members all gathered together in Ellen's studio. Many of those affected by the fires still don't have a place they can call home.

The United Way has set up the Southern California Fire Fund to help. The fund focuses primarily on the aftermath to ensure community-wide healing. Financial donations can be made to the fund by calling 1-866-571-7193 or by visiting www.unitedwaysocalfirefund.org.

Checks can be made out to "United Way SoCal Fire Fund" and mailed to:

United Way of Greater Los Angeles
Lockbox File 57267
Los Angeles, CA 90074-7267

As an alternative, donations are also accepted by the Red Cross. Click here to be linked to their website and help those less fortunate in this season of giving!

Hi Ellen, I just wanted to say that I thought todays show was wonderful. Leave it to you to stop and think about those that are in harms ways and those that help them out, especially during this time of the year. I was living on the East Coast when 911 occured and remember all of the first responders lost during that time. We, as humans, get so wrapped up in our own lives, we forget about those who have lost so much. Thank you for reminding people what this season is all about. It is a time for care about your fellow man, the way God intended. God Bless you and your family this holiday and thank you again for all you do.

Hi Ellen,
I just love your show it brings a smile to my face! You are the greatest! Christmas is always really hard for me....because I never had my family i was raised in a foster home and my mom was incarcerated my whole childhood and adult life, my dad passed away about the same time she went to prison...all of my xmas's as a child were horrible. Recently my mom has been released from prison after serving 29 years! It has been exciting but at the same time odd..I just don't know what to do how to act and sometimes i forget I can call her now. I am a single mom and just want to have the best x-mas ever! Please help me or give me advise on what to do. What do you do w/ a mom!! I am 42 years old and she tucks me in bed. She is 74 and acts like shes 40. Good for her huh?? Our lives have been so miserable Please make it happy for us. Youb are such a wonderful person and I wish I had your spirit. Merry Christmas and may God bless you. Krenda from Missouri
