My mom and dad struggle to pay the bills. This troubles me because they work hard. My mom recently lost her job because she had too many back surgeries. They wanted to take me to Disney World. We saved money for the past two years. We kept our special hard-earned money in a jar. I was so excited about the possibility of going to Disney World. Somehow someone found out about our special jar. It turned up missing. Now our dream of going to Disney World was ruined. I would like to surprise my parents with a trip to Disney. My parents deserve a break. I would love to see Disney. Please consider helping me. One day maybe I can help another family.

Hey Ellen:
Your show is the only show that makes me laugh out loud every day no matter how dismal.
Anyway, I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and this is my first time every writing to anyone on television. Ever!
I wanted to share a family vacation story about my trip to DisneyWorld in Orlando in 1977.
My mom, her friend Carol, and three of my four siblings piled in a Griswald station wagon and drove to Orlando from Saint John New Brunswick. It was just like National Lampoons' vacation. We got lost in New York and ended up in Harlem during the NY garbage strike with garbage piled on the streets and there were hookers galore.
We saw cockroaches the size of twinkies in the Carolina's...we drove so long the first day that when we finally stopped at a motel, I thought my mom, who was sharing a bed with me had put quarters in the vibrating bed because she was shaking so much from exhaustion...Off to Florida we go and we make it to Disneyworld...what a blast...It rained so hard...but it was July and we thought it felt great so we stood in the rain while everyone else ran for cover...I had bought a new pair of emerald green satin sport shorts with the white stripe on the sides...they were new so when they got wet from the rain the green dye ran down my legs...woohoo!!
Anyway...we had a ball and I would love to go there again with my mom, who is 67 now, and my family to capture new and crazy memories again..
Love you Ellen
Sue from Halifax
PS Sorry if my first celeb email is kinda long..

I remember going to Disneyland! OMG!!! Space Mountain was my favorite ride!!! I rode it 3 times in a row.. then the line went from an hour and a half - 2 hours and a quarter so that was a little much and went to ride something else. I would have waited but the person I was with didn't want to ride it for the 4th time and the fact that it was a longer wait. But.. I really like that ride :) It is pitch black and theirs stars and planets!!! SOoooo cool!

It would be hard to have friends. Trust issues. I'm not famous but I have trust issues as well. Been stabbed in the back a few times... thrown off the shelf ... whatever you want to call it. A psychologist once told me. "People are going to do what people are going to do." That is sooo true! May as well not worry about it.. don't let it affect you. I think celebrities do get taken advantage of. I see it happening. I wonder at times if people are fans of someone just because they give gifts away or have twelve days of giveaways like Oprah and you Ellen. It bothers me to even think that.. but I know with some.. its true. Like my grams always said, "You can't buy friends" I guess the same is true with fans. Some people.. not all are materialistic and take advantage of celebrities. I know celebrities know this so its hard to know that some fans like 'em for their person rather than what they have to offer materialistic. It sucks for us true fans. LIke I don't want any gifts. I'd be a fan anyway. Are they excited to see you or are they just excited to get? Its hard to tell. That bothers me. I don't like to see people taken advantage of.. used. It is good Miley has 3 people she can trust! Miley's dad is AMAZING!!!! I too have always liked to hang with older people. I guess its 'cause I had to grow up fast. Age 7 I lost both my parents and was wise above my years or really intune with my spirit guide.. who knows. But I've always connected with more mature people. I also try and pick emotionally stable people... that's important! Be careful who you pick as your friends. For SURE!!! ... you'll become them:)

Miley is a great young person! I am going to see the movie "Bolt!" This weekend!!!!! Now I know a little more about it. The dog must be a celebrity... kinda what young actors have to balance work with being a kid! The dog has to balance being professional whatever with being a dog.. having fun!!! I think this movie may make me cry... and Laugh!!! and root..hope..etc.! cheer! I don't know..

I like John Steinbeck! Which reminds me Clint Eastwood used to be the Mayor of Carmel! Steinbeck wrote on the oppressed! I read Travels with Charlie. That's a great book!!!! I 've been to Carmel!!! Pretty place!

I love your show Ellen. Maybe you didn't realize that Miley's "boyfriend" is age 20. Any romantic interest he has in her would be a form of pedophilia, despite the fact that Hollywood has sexualized Miley at times. Dad has this wrong. I've been waiting to hear someone through the media to come out against this but so far John Doe seems to be the only one. Too many girls idolize Miley. She and her people need to send healthy, sexually appropriate messages out to kids. Thanks.

hiellen my name is veronica i'm 56 years old And I would love to go to Disney Land I have never been Iwould luv to take my grandson Josh something we could share for ever. Theres only one time on this Earth, and you would give us this precious time and MEMORIES. Luv ya Ellen Make a Dream come true.

hello ellen we have been fans of yours since your 1st hbo special.we knew then what a special person you are. alot has happend to my family since then.i was married to an abusive man the relationship ended with him stabbing me.my 2 children and i ended up homeless we finally got back on are feet i worked as a waitress until i had an accident in 04 since then i have become 100% disabled for the last 29 months i have fought to get disability which means things are hard on the family. my daughter and son have had to take care of me in every way.my daughter who has 3 beautiful daughters.struggles to pay all her bills and mine she makes sure im fed and clothed and that i get to doctors and have the medicines i need. sha also has a child with disabilities.my grandchildren talk about going to disney land or world all the time allthough it would be hard for me to go.my daughter wishes she could afford to take them but on a very small income that isnt possible.my wish is for them to go and maybe you can make that possible. thank you for letting me write and god bless you ellen and thank you for making us smile for so many years.

Ellen,
I watch your show alot....
You are the best. You make alot of people laugh when things are bad, and you know to pick all us up and just DANCE.
My grand daughter is a Miley Cyrus fan she could tell you anything about her and all her show's. She is 10 years old, and
She also has a wounderful voice but is very shy.
I tried to get tickets at her trip to Indiana but they were all sould out in a matter of seconds, and also were out of my reach. I have a income that is only disability at the age of 49. I want her to know that dreams do come true....
She gets alot of disapointments in her life but I keep telling her that she needs to be happy for the things that do happen and what she does have,
because there are alot of childern that don't have what little you do have....
And that everything happens for a reason....
She has worked so hard to bring up her grades in school from D's And F's to above C's to A's And B's, by staying after school and studing, and I would LOVE for you to help me out by making her DREAM come true for all the GOOD and HARD work that she has done????
your's truly
YOUR FAN Debbie

Disneyland is almost the only place you can see
snow fall around the holidays in southern Ca =)
You rock Ellen and Staff!

Ellen, my husband & I have been fans since your start. We have been through a lot of tough times, but you can always bring a smile to our faces. We have been together 20 yrs. & in April celebrate our 14th wedding anniv. We were so happy for you & Portia. Life is so short, as we know all to well, so if you are lucky enough to fall in love never take it for granted..cherish every moment!
I lost my dad when I was 21.A time when we were getting to know ea. other & be friends.I lost 2 sisters & a niece within 2 wks. of ea. other in April, 93. My husband doesn't really know his mother, as she gave away all her children. They were split up & he only knows the location of one. Sadly, the only sibling he ever knew, and we both loved dearly, was killed in Oct. 04 and the person has never been caught. He had a smile as contagious as yours. We aren't able to have children. I lost our baby in Jan. 98. It is almost 11 yrs., but the heartache is still there. It is harder on my husband as he wanted a family since he never really had one.
Like you & Portia, we are animal lovers and they are our babies. Sadly, our blonde lab, Cheyenne, is a diabetic, as am I, but she lost her vision about a yr. ago. At the same time, we lost our beloved dog of 15 yrs., Thunderbolt, right before Christmas. He & his sister, Lightfoot, were inspired by the movie which your friend, Clint Eastwood, was in. He is one of our favorite actors and directors. You have good taste! Thunder was by my side, as always, loyal & protective til the end.
There has been more tragedy, but through it all we try to smile & laugh. Your smile is contagious and you have a sparkle in your eyes! We are sure to smile & laugh daily while your show is on. As Maya Angelou said "The main thing in one's own private world is to try to laugh as much as you cry." I've never been on a plane or to CA, so the trip would be a first for us in many ways and some good memories for a change.
Best wishes to all for a safe,
joyful, & peaceful Holiday Season! BTW, we both share birthdays in January, although I am a Capricorn unlike you, an Aquarius, like my husband. This trip would be a good Christmas gift for us, as well as, our birthdays.
Loving,Living,Laughing and Dancing, of course,in memory of loved ones!
Cheryl

My daughter is 5 years old and thinks the world of Hannah Montana. It would be a dream come true to be able to take her to Disney. Thanks for having such a great show. You make it so much fun.

May you all have a bright and Merry Christmas. I have entered yet again to win a prize. I enterbut never win but there is always hope. God Bless this World.

Ellen you make my day every morning I get to wake up and watch you smile and laugh and dance. I used to watch you in High Def on a room full of Tv's and even wrote to you about going to HIGH DEF since my boss at Circuit City hated me to turn the tv's to your show every morning but since I was the best Rep they had- he had to let me do what I wanted pretty much! So I watched you EVERY MORNING on all the Tv's! Love to watch you smile in the morning! Thank you for being you and never changing no matter what! I think your wonderful and giving and the world would be a much better place if everyone was more like you !!! I have had the pleasure of taking my kids to Disney several times and would love to go but only if you and your wife went along with me and mine!

Live - Love - Laff xoxoxxo
