Maybe a mistake to have the enemy of our lifestyle and human rights on the show. Especially after reading "Brenda's" comments. Another viewer of Ellen's show who wishes death for 10% of the population. Why would this person even watch a show when they despise the host?

Hello, Ellen, he said it was a difference of opinion. Uh...no, it's a difference of LAWS about our HUMAN RIGHTS.
Human rights cannot be reduced to an 'opinion'.
A person who does not understand human rights has no business in politics, let alone being the President of the USA.
I was disappointed that you allowed him to say, well. we have a difference of opinion. Mad me really angry to hear that.
Well, are we going to see laws made based on personal 'opinions' now and not HUMAN RIGHTS.

Better yet, Ellen, simply ask Senator McCain if he believes in the words contained within the Bible, the ones which clearly pronounce homosexuality a sin worthy of eternal death.
The trouble with having practiced the sin of homosexuality for so many of you is, you've obviously lived a lie in hiding your onetime secret from your friends and family: And now that you've "come out," you merely continue your lie by attempting to justify your narcissistic lifestyle by convoluting the truth that's right before your eyes. Truth is, the remainder of us--er, that is, the billions of heterosexuals living worldwide--merely tolerate you in the hopes that you'll simply live privately, unobtrusively, discreetly. Our problem is, we've long been too optimistic in dealing with homosexuality--a social disorder the American Psychiatric Association not so very long ago rightly termed a "severe psychological disturbance."
As you continue to free-fall, folks, do remember that the best John McCain--or indeed anyone--can do for you is to pray for your emotional healing. Not that I'm all that religious myself, but, from what I've learned while living these past seventy years, the only one who can help you will be Jesus himself, and he's the one you genuinely seem to hate the most. Ironically, you people have long exhibited a peculiar propensity for striking yourselves in the head with a hammer in those instances when heterosexuals would most like to help you overcome your glaring emotional problems. Sadly, we're finally beginning to tune you out, and that's what'll ultimately end up killing you--for you'll not be long to survive without our coddling.

Congratulations on your forthcoming marriage.
In the UK, same-sex couples who want to marry form a "civil partnership" which gives us the same rights as everyone else without treading on the toes of those who think that the word "marriage" isn't for gay people.
Maybe because of this difference in wording, gay marriage hasn't been much of an issue for the Brits. Fundamentally, for me, what we call it (civil partnership or "marriage")doesn't matter and I'm very grateful that I live in a time and place where our families and friends will be able to share in our own celebration this summer!
There are plenty of places in the world where gay people are a lot worse off than the US or the UK - but it's alarming that in your country, the land of freedom, there are people whose basic message is that: it's ok to be gay, so long as you don't form long-lasting, loving partnerships and so long as you grow old and die alone.
I'm thrilled that you're out there doing a great job as an entertainer but also combatting that ignorant and/or hate-filled attitudes. Keep up the excellent work and congrats again

Thank you your courage and communication style. My daughter and her partner married a few years ago in CA. It was a great wedding and I want you to have a great wedding - have fun - do what YOU want. I am now a grandmother which I never thought would happen. It is so wonderful and my son is so dedicated to his niece. We have to believe and have faith in other human beings that they will realize the significance, essence and importance of every human being on the planet and they will realize the total waste of time when we devalue and descriminate against others.
