Dear Ellen, after reading all the comments on your blog, I can't imagine that you actually read all of it and still manage to conduct your life and show....I am writing to you to tell you about an incredible work of love. My neighbor Jeanne and Pete Maribito have a racehorse sanctuary for old mares...it is called "HerMims.org", named after the first mare she gave refuge.
Jeanne and her husband care for aging racehorse mares who have been abandonded after winning many thousands of dollars in stake races. Some owners pay Jeanne to care for their old horses, but many others "give away" they horses who are just "put out to pasture" and loose weight and develop illnesses, and to die. SOe re 200 pounds underweight by the time Jeanne is called. Jeanne is called after the horse is scheduled to be sent to slaughter or are in such dire health conditions that they will soon die.
Jeanne takes these old mares onto her farm, works with a local veterinarian to work out medications and care, and then she cares for these horses until they die. The sponsorship that she has for the 13 horses takes care of most of the cost of feed, and medication but each month she goes about $400.00 in the hole. Hence she works another job just to make ends meet!
Jeanne helps her horses to make Horse art ( with their noses in primary color paint!!!) which she sells on Ebay for extra money but she needs so much more just to care for these historic horses...
She desparetly needs a tractor and mower, just to keep her fields mowed so the horses can graze and not get injuries from weeds and brush; She has a cemetery for the horses who have died that needs fencing and headstones...these are afterall race winners; and the list goes on....
Jeanne and her husband Pete live a very simple life, with their monies going to the care of these horses...I am hoping that you may do the research and find that Jeannie and Pete are very caring, giving and unselfish people who just need a helping hand. Anything that you could do would be apppreciated, but exposure may help them get others to help too...
Thanks, Ellen, and congrats on your recent wedding; Love is special thing and not to be taken for granted, for humans or people!! Good for you both!!
Thanks again, and BTW, I am Sierra's, "Hoop Girl" grandmother. Thanks for being so good to her! Michele

Hi Ellen! My name is Tessa, I'm born and raised in Connecticut and have been a HUGE Ellen fan for YEARS! I realize that there are NUMEROUS emails that come thru and there are just TOO MANY to reply to/read however, I am HOPING and writing for a couple reasons. 1. I am (again) a HUGE Ellen fan and just love the open mind that you have for so many things like me and 2. because of your compassion! I'm hoping that maybe you can help me out in something that would mean SO much to me! My story is nothing special really. It's just that I am a very sensitive, compassionate, caring, open-minded person that has the utmost compassion for people who have life "not as easy" as some. With this being said, this is the reason for my email. As devoted as I am to the Ellen Show, I am JUST as devoted to a show on "The Learning Channel" called, "Little People, Big World". I don't know if you, Ellen, have seen this show yourself, but they are the most INCREDIBLE people I have EVER seen on T.V!!! It's a show based on a husband and wife that are little people and have 4 INCREDIBLE children. Two of which are twins yet one is a little person and the other is of normal height. The other 2 they have are also of normal height. This family lives in Oregon and has an AMAZING family farm. It's called, "The Roloff Farm". My husband and I have been watching their show for over a year and I've been talking about how I would love to meet this family personally simply to shake their hands to tell them what a fine job they're doing with their children and how they have taught ME so much. This family Ellen; is to me, what a family is all about and basically, I have always wanted to let them know how much I respect them. I am a wife who is longing to be a mother and has the normal "fears" of raising children, but watching this family is just; I can't explain it! I just love them and have so much respect for them and want them to know how awesome I think they are for parents. I can only hope to be as good as they are. This family DESERVES a “shout out!” Their names are Matt & Amy Rolof. They are amazing people with such drive that I long for and are wonderful parents. I would love the opportunity to meet this family face to face to shake their hands and let them know what an INCREDIBLE influence they have been to me and if I can't meet them, and you could arrange that, I would be SO happy just to tell this family personally how much they have changed me! I think that this family should be recognized other than their own show on TLC. They are really, an amazing, smart, tight and loving family! I think you would enjoy meeting with this family and hearing their story. Again I'm just a fan who loves you and adores this family as well. Not much to me, just someone who is taking the time to express my feelings that I really hope are heard. I look up to this family because I thought I have been through some "hard times", but when you watch what this family has been through and achieved in their life, it makes you say, "stop feeling sorry for yourself, you can achieve anything you want." “God Bless the Rolof Family!!!”
Thanks for reading my email and if you don't acknowledge this email, PLEASE acknowledge this incredible family... The Rolof's!! Keep Dancing Ellen! You rock!!

Dear Ellen,
It's me again,
I'm a huge fan of yours and also of Britney as I have told you before.
I still hoping you will consider getting Britney Spears on you're show.It would be great to see her come back to you're show to help boost her career and start a new begin and more postive feed back then what the magazine and media have been doing.
It would be awesome!!!
If it was possiable maybe I could get free tickets to see the show when you, if you decide to have her on you're show again.
Please consider
Thanks

Happy Thursday Ellen!
Pete the Poet here, back again with my next original instantly created poem of the workweek! Yes Ellen once again this poet is a happily married man, living in Canada and working in sales. My gift is the art of poetry that I am able to create instantly and share that with you every day I come to work. I wish someday I could share them in person.
Today’s topic: Financial freedom. How often do we think in our lives, "If life could only be that simple if we just had this?" And how many of us at this very moment are thinking about the number one thing that would make life easier in every part of our day, that little word that makes the world go round, money. There are those in this world who live in a place where financial freedom comes as easily as breathing, and on the same token, there are those where breathing is as difficult as reaching financial freedom.
I often wonder where this world would be, if everyone living in it would have that simple worry eradicated from their lives. How free would that world truly be? Maybe I’m just a dreamer. Well, here’s to the dreamers. Take care, see you next time.
PTP(Pete the Poet)
“How are you doing?”
asked the poor man.
“I am fine.”
the rich man said.
“All I need is another dollar,
one more to spend before I’m dead.”
“Do you not have plenty?”
replied the poor man.
“Do you not have everything you need?”
confused and baffled by the question,
The rich man answered,
“What do you mean?”
The poor man responded in gentle kindness,
“You seem in good health,
and financially free.”
“What could you possibly need for in life,
that leads you to want,
more of what you don’t need?”
The rich man looked up at the poor man,
“How then are you?”
The rich man said.
“I am fine.”
Replied the poor man.
“I just need a dollar before I am dead.”

Hi Ellen adn staff,
I am a twenty year old young lady who just happens to adore all animals. Yesterday, my boyfriend and I thought it would be a great idea to get some fish. We went to the store and bought a tank and all the necessities and brought home five adorable little fish. One happened to be a Rosy Barb who I decided I would name Ellen. It only seemed to fit considering you were the voice of a fish and I liked this fish the best. She would come up to the glass when I put my finger up and she motivated the others to "just keep swimming." We went to bed that night just as happy as could be. Waking up the next morning was not so glorious. I awoke to find that four of the fish I bought had past away in our sleep. All except my favorite Rosy Barb named Ellen. It just goes to show that when you are as nice and loving as Ellen DeGeneres is, good things come your way....Like staying alive. Have a great day and thanks for always making mine.
Sincerely,
Stephanie from Portland Maine
