Ellen is a fabulous person and does great things with her "clout". However, the question is not about love or how terrific a person is in this life. The Bible (the first history book) plainly says that we are ALL born sinners and God has given us free choice to choose right OR wrong. The sin of homosexauality is just that... a sin. Just like any other sin, the human race has the choice to do or not to do. Homosexuals are born that way, but remember we are all born sinners. We have to ask God to help us overcome our sin nature (whatever it maybe)and forgive us of our sin. And we have to do this every day. We can't just except sin because it feels good. If you claim to be a Christian, which means "like Christ", we have to believe in and live by the entire Bible. Ellen, I love you as a person, I think your funny and do wonderful things for people. I am praying for you.
Hey Lisa,
Here's an idea.. turn off the t.v.... The word Hypocrite comes to mind when i read your comment.. Your complaining about Ellen speaking openly about her views yet your posting your opinion on the WORLD WIDE WEB and expect everyone to listen to what you have to say..
Open your mind
The whole point that everyone needs to understand is simply! EQUAL RIGHTS
Everyone deserves to believe and feel how ever they want Ellen or Lisa thats the beauty of it..... GOD loves us all or the universe, budda, mother earth or who ever your higher power is!
lisa please get over it.
your old school views ae boring us all.
ellen wouldnt mind losing a viewer like YOU.
amy
Oh lisa,
get over yourself.
Shes got the right just like anybody does to have an OPINION. of course shes going to bring it up, every other talk show host does it. ever watch oprah or the view? please, dont use this as a n excuse. i dont think shed want you to watch her show anyways if you cant stand 30 seconds of what she beleives in. you wouldnt be complaining of she was talking about economical issues or global warming. just because maybe %5 of the world is still living in the dark ages doesnt mean she should edit for you.
puh-lease.
emily
I do not support Gay marriage. I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman only. It is disappointing how Ellen constantly uses her talk show as her personal platform to highlight all the issues she is personally interested in. I agree with other comments regarding the difference in the way Ellen interviews political candidates. It is always so obvious who Ellen likes and doesn't as she does her interviews. I have always enjoyed watching the Ellen show, however, as she gets more and more vocal about issues I don't agree with, primarily gay marriage, I find it harder and harder to watch and support her show. I hope that Ellen can continue to make us laugh but without standing on a personal soap box the entire time!
well its very clear that this isnt a subject thats in a grey are for anyone, i beleive in equal rights, go ellen! you handeled yourself very well :)
im only.. 14 and i watch Ellen evryday when i come home from school each moring and i LUV her shes awesome im so.. depressed sometimes but ellen she makes me smile i dont care about her sexuality or anything whats the big deal live ur life be who u want to be and if u have problem with someone else thats sexuality u do not approvw of srry this sounds rude but GET OVER IT! =] love Ellen always andbtw ellen looks like shes 28 not anywhere near 50 =] =]
Ellen, I absolutely love you and your show, I have always been a huge fan. I was, however, disappointed that you did not ask Michelle Obama the same questions you asked John McCain. Her husband agrees with John McCain on homosexual marriage, and I was just waiting to hear her talk about this!
FOR CAROLYN
The whole point is that no one has a choice to be gay anymore than they have a choice to be Caucasian. The human race would not die out; look at is as a natural form of population control. If someone loves someone, regardless of age or sex or race or religion, what right does anyone have to prevent them from wanting to profess that love to their friends and family in a formal government approved ceremony? Unfortunately your comment comes out as ignorant and narrow-minded, although I'm sure you're a smart chick. I am a bisexual female, have been since I was born, fantasizing about males and females with the same frequency and passion. If one day I found the woman that completed my life and made me feel like the best me I could be, I would spend the rest of my life with her and we would probably adopt one of the thousands of children who end up in orphanages because their parents' faith didn't allow birth control. The world has a way of working itself out. Have faith, in everything, not just god.
I love you Ellen!
John McCain needs to go to bed. Taking on the presidency is too much for him at this point.
Everyone should have the right to marry. Don't worry Carolyn, procreation will continue even when heterosexuals don't even like each other.
I don't agree with all this stuff about gays. I love everybody but if you would stop and think didn't God make us to be fruitful and multiply? Well what would happen just say if all men decided they only wanted to be with men and all women decided they only wanted to be with women??? How long would our world last it wouldn't it would come to an end.
I don't understand the big deal!!! I have wonderful friends that are gay and I think they should be allowed to live their own lives without the restrictions that the government has put in place. Love is such a rare find, and I believe that EVERYONE deserves it!!! Regardless of whom one falls in love with...there are just some things the government needs to stay out of and this is the most important one!!!
i am a female married to a male but i think as long as 2 people love and care for one another reguardless of color or sexuality then let them enjoy life to its fullest. and be able to be married.
ellen

nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

a couple of days ago i walked to my county fair and before i got to the grounds a man in a suit gave a flier and told me "traditional marriage is the way to go, one man , one woman." and a forst i didnt understand and i walk about ten yards away and looked at the paper, and walked all the back and gave it to him and said "im sorry, i dont want to throw your flier away like everyone else, but i support gay marriage" and the look of pity this man gave me was absoloutely horrible. he looked me in the eye and said "God bless your soul". marriage isnt about reproducing, its about binding a couple together forever. To not let someone have that is telling them they're not allowed to love.
