Congratulations Ellen!

I saw your cover girl picture in the newspaper today and thought how beautiful you are. I'm thinking this might be the first time an out-of-the-closet lesbian has ever done this? Anyway, you are beautiful and deserve that cover. WTG

your right it does say that in the bible in leviticus 18:22 i think. I'm an avid christian. BUT I am a firm believer in the saying that "a sin is a sin, is a sin" and personally I can admit that I'm vain, I've lied and probably will again, etc etc. Everyone is guilty. And honestly, since I'm straight, I really don't care if two people of the same gender are in love. I'm happy for them! Love is a wonderful and miraculous aspect of life and quite frankly anyone who experiences that on any means gets the congrats and thumbs up from me. Since gay marriage does not negatively effect me, why would I be a negative nancy and try to ruin it for them. Mad props to Ellen for finding someone (doesn't matter what gender) that makes her happy and fills that part of her heart. Ellen, you get full and honest support from a young christian woman over here! God loves us all the same, and that's something we should all strive for here on earth!

You go Ellen!!! I think that you are awesome!!! I think that it is best that McCain did not win against Obama. And I felt SOOO different on Wednesday morning when I woke up, knowing that America had elected a President that is open minded and an inspiration to everyone!!! His name will be in history books EVERYWHERE!!! We did it!!! Keep up the good work, Ellen!!! And never loose that hope for the future. You're right. Everyone LOVES just the same.

I love the fact that McCain looks SO nervous throughout the entire interview. Homeboy has NO idea what he's gotten himself into. God, I can only imagine what his political advisors are thinking/saying now!! I love it! And the "Touche" part that he throws in there at the end of the "walk me down the isle" comment? What, exactly, was that supposed to mean? Anyway, I love the fact that all of these politicians accepted their invites to Ellen's show. That's great. I got a kick out of it, and I have respect for all of them stepping up to the plate, even if it meant they had to leave their "comfort bubble." YOU GO ELLEN! P.S. Hey guys, everyone check out the very respectfull and mature debate my old highschool buddy and I were able to have on myspace. It kind of ended up turning into a big deal. You can check out my myspace blog "the great debate" on the url (myspace.com/findyourbliss), and also on my opponent's comment page (you can find her in my friend's section under "tiffany michelle"). No matter what side you're partial to, there are opinions and information from both perspectives.

I'm actually writing a paper in college on prop 8 and why i think it is bad. I just don't understand. If love doesn't have a color, or size, shape, or economic class, why should it have a gender? If you are both consenting adults why would it matter. And why is it anyone else's business who you choose to love. I am not in a same sex relationship, but I still think it is not fair to put limitations on who someone can marry.

why lesbian marriage?
and the porno movies? a lot of lesbians, lesbians values!

I am not saying that you are going to hell or anything like that for being gay, but if you read in the bible it clearly says that a man and woman should get married. It never said that eve and madam should get married.

There are so many issues that need to be considered before any of you vote on Prop 8. I have been doing extensive research and put together a website about it here: Prop 8 Voter Info.

There are legal, social, and scientific issues that are not being discussed in the news media that you should be aware of yourself before you make a decision either way.

Take the time to be informed!!!

Linn
Obama is uneducated, inexperienced and a liar. He is about as vague as he can be and he knows it. He really has no opinion on gay marriage because he DOESN'T CARE. He doesn't care about anything other than the fact that he's black and can get away with anything. All he ever does is poke fun at ANYTHING Sarah Palin or John McCain do and yet everybody likes him!? How does that make you a good leader?

Madelyne: i didnt respond because i have no idea what you are talking about....your whack dude.

And also im reading alot of comments in which people are stating that Obama is completely against gay marrage. well i just finished watching an interview he did regarding this matter. i just want to make it clear that yes both Mccain and Obama believe that the sanctity of marrage is between man and women; however if you listen closely: McCain is Opposed to the whole thing all together. Obama: believes in fairness feel me? he said and i quote: I believe in equality and fareness. and although my beliefs are not the same as everyone as Americans we can all learn to agree to disagree. I do believe in the sanctity of marrage between man and women but i also believe that you chose who you want to be with and that as preseident i want to be fare and give everyone equal rights. He also stated that (which i believe is extremely fare of him) "it will be up to the church whether they should perform such a ceremony" but the rights are everyones as it is mine.

So hes saying that he wants to give everyone equal rigths to marry but at the same time he knows many dont agree so he is leaving religion where it belongs in the churches. that is why he says that the churches should decide to perform the ceremony is they want but gay couples will have the same rights and opportunities.

i respect that. he's old school but he knows how to be new school. what a G!!!!!

love ya elli!!!

Hi Ellen.I have a sister that is gay and in a civil union relationship I was right by her side when she did it. I love my sister for doing what she believes in.I also have a gay son and he is twenty now,in his third year in Drexel University, this child is my best friend he is AMAZING!! I love my family for who they are and standing up for their rights. My Mother did not take this very well in the beginning, but she somewhat accepts it now.I talk to her about it all the time to let her know that her daughter and grandson are not criminals or deformed people, that they are our family, and every family should have a Susan or Frankie in their life because the world would be a better place if they did.I wish that I could afford a family vacation for everyone so my Mother could see that her daughter and grandson are very normal people, and that these people make a difference in this world!!One of these days when I hit the lottery, I will bring my whole family to see your show, and if you met us, you would want to hang with us because we can be alot of fun! Thank you for taking the time to read this letter, your show is FANTASTIC!!!I dont get to see it much cause Im at wotk at that time that its on and we dont have a television there cause my boss is too cheap.I work in a hair salon in a little town in N.J., you would love this little town!!Anytime your in the area stop by for a free haircut,we are not a high class salon, but we di just as good!!We are located about twenty minutes from Atlantic City, so feel free, this little town is really nice you could do a show from here!!!! Well, its that time of night,Good Night!

I LOVED this exchange! You are such a breath of fresh air, not only on TV but in life in general. My 25 year old daughter is a lesbian and we used to watch your sitcom together and truly enjoyed it! When you came out on TV it gave her alot of strength in her own personal struggles, school, friends, family, etc. You are a wonderful role model and I wish you a truly happy lifetime in your marriage. I'm so sick of people making fun of Sarah Palin! I know that McCain's not favorable, but I don't like Obama either. Sarah Palin has more experience than Obama, and she's not even running for president, only vice. Just because McCain's old, it doesn't mean he's going to die right when he gets sworn in. Palin knows a hell of a lot more than anybody who is criticizing her, so SHUT UP.

Wow. I'm glad I am not allowed to vote yet(permanent resident, originally from Toronto). However, had I could, I would have voted for McCain...until now. He is really lodged in the dark ages, isn't he? It just seems so archaic that we are still even DISCUSSING gay right/marriages. Give me a break and move into the new millenium already!!! (p.s. Ellen, the wedding photos of you and your radiant beauty? priceless.)

I am a Christian and I first want to say that the Bible does NOT say that Gay = Hell. I get so frustrated when I hear people make that statement. I do believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman. I don't mean any disrespect to gay couples. I just feel that God intended for marriage to be this way only. I do want to say Congrats to Ellen though. If it is passed into law, then you should go for it if that's what your heart desires.

I live in Missouri, I hope for the day that the woman I love and I can marry, but I fear this RIGHT will not happen in my life time. Our constitution says we are all equal, and have a right to pursue happiness. Well until we have the same rights as everyone else how can we be happy being second class citizens.

Ellen,
Thank you for giving back this opportunity to be heard.
Do you think people are ever going to understand the full content of the bible?
PLEASE WAKE UP PEOPLE?
The bible has every temptation possible for people to have a good heart, unfortunately alot of people choose to use just what morally suits them.
There are 2 or more temptations to everything you read. You have to see how it falls under God's 10 Commandments, correctly doing so, the only thing you have left is LOVE.
EXAMPLE:
It states God has given us every seed to grow for our meat.
It also states God has given man dominion over animals.
(Thou shall not kill)
EXAMPLE:
It states marriage is between a man and a woman.
It also states marriage is honourabe with all and the bed undefiled, and to bond with those that face adversity.
(Love thy neighbor)
I don't believe that means just the one that lives beside me.
THE LIST GOES ON AND ON.

Alot of straight religious people say gays are going to burn in hell.(Stupid for anyone to say when God created me!)
They just don't understand what they are reading, let alone what are saying or doing by treating others like that.
If you read between the lines in Romans, Chap. 1, and don't let everything run together, you will see that the haters, murderers, backbiters, and so on are the ones that are worthy of death not the gays that have done nothing wrong.
Men (no offense meant guys) have controlled, condemned, and murdered anyone that is different than them since the beginning of time.
Have you ever wondered why only men wrote the bible?
The God I know is not chauvinist and puts thoughts in my mind also!
I guess if Eve had not twisted Adam's arm and made him eat that apple too, I wouldn't be doing this blogging, right?
Love to everyone!!!

I am not gay, but I do have a sister who is. I was raised Catholic and am Republican. I believe that marriage is a sacrament to be held between two people in love and performed by a religious figure, a priest in my case. Even men and women who get "married" by a judge is not a true marriage to me. I'm not even that religious, but it's one of the seven sacraments and it is important to uphold that.

Ugh, I really do not like McCain in the slightest.
