I would love to make a donation to the Make it Right project, but don't know where to send the check. Please let me know. Thanks. I am trying to get tickets to come see you with my daughters 13 and 17 who both love you to pieces. Hope to see you soon.

P.S.Did I metion I LOVE YOUR SHOW
The week before Christmas I went to a housewarming in Lakeview, the neighborhood in New Orleans destroyed by the break in the 17th Street Canal. Two and 1/2 years later only a third of the houses had electricity hooked up to them. The roads were so horrible I had to drive below 10 mph. The amazing thing to me though was, in the houses occupied, Christmas cheer spilled over. They were awash with Christmas lights and greenery. Joy amid the destruction. Christmas I spent with my 81 year old mother in Pass Christian, MS. With Bing Crosby crooning away on the radio I drove among the empty slabs, the still deserted houses and the trailers that make up the center of town. It was surreal. Is this America? Is this the best we can do as a nation? All the people I met were all in high spirits. I think living in a broken world, you become stronger than steel, tempered by hardship.

Hi Ellen
I would like to let you know that my daughter Danielle Morelli along with a group from Hunter College in New York City are in New Orleans. They joined together in helping the people there to rebuild. I spoke with her last nite and she told us that she helped in putting a roof on one the homes. We are so proud of her, to be involved in such an organization that will make a difference for people in desperate need. They saw the homes Brad Pitt had built--hoping that they will catch a glimpse of him as well before they return home on January 20. If there is any way that you can acknowledge the Hunter College Students for the great job in their involvement in New Orleans would be a great suprise for them. So Ellen pull some strings I have faith in you.
Thanks
Roseann Morelli
I moved from Louisiana 7 years ago. I still go home to visit all of my family and friends. Each time I go, I am amazed at how little has been done. New Orleans is small potatoes compared to the surrounding areas that were affected by the hurricanes (Rita destroyed the western side of Louisiana in the same season). St Bernard Parish is a mess. The whole gulf coast is a mess. Boarded up buildings, trees that are dead, entire communities GONE, tons of homes that still have blue tarps on the roof....you can see them when you land in New Orleans....cars that are still abandoned, and has anyone seen where they have the refridgerator grave yard?? And the whole time I am seeing these things I am wondering, were did all that money go? Its obvious it didn't go to the ones who needed it, or the ones who worked so hard for all they had and don't have one thing they worked for.....
I'm not a bitter person. I'm heartbroken. The place I come from and the places I spend summer vacations are a mess. I wish there were something I could do besides give money. The money doesn't seem to make it the hands that NEED it.
PS I watch Ellen because she is histerical and she reminds me of home. :)
Hi Ellen I watch your show all the time. I love the stuff you do for people and animals. You are so down to earth. Ive been to see your show nov. 2006. We was in the the back. My group was the next to go, in to be setted. But it was full. But we still had a great time at your show. Tryed toget tickets to your birthday show. But no luck on tickets. Wishing you a HAPPY 50th Birthday on Jan 26th.
Dear Ellen,
I watched you on my Cristmas break and thought you fool you have been missing all this fun. Lack of knowledge causes people to miss judge you because of your choices in life. I want you to know that I'm sorry for judging you. Yes it was my lost of the dancing and laughter you share with the world every time you come on. My Bishop taught me better so I'm trying to do better. Just know that I will be watching you on all my days off. Again, I'm sorry and continue to be a blessing to this world we live in. If this reach you allow someone to email me so I can know it reach you. Thank you
Debra Johnson
Hey, people, are you reading. Here they talk about green houses. Do you have any idea of green houses at all? They are a lot more expensive then the regular one. Visit the links, before you post anything like this. This is good idea to build green houses. They will save not only the people, but the planet too little bit at leas... Go on google and type "green house" and read people.

Here is to see how good and expensive are thoes houses and shut up, and don't talk anymore "there is no reason to donate this money. It is a big reason to do it !

Thank you for all you are doing for those who lost so much during Katrina. But Ellen, I don't understand, what happened to all the hundreds of millions of dollars that were raised right after the storm? Am I wrong, or are people not being accountable for the monies spent so far? It's hard for me to give generously after the 9/11 fiasco.(no accountability and no questions asked when any bids came in to do any work.) And I am not talking about the money the govt. gave. We all know that they won't buy anything unless it's over-priced by 300%!!!, but what about all that money we've already given?
Ellen you are a wonderful, amazing, lovely Lady

I would rather give money with the trust that it is being used appropriately than not give at all. How bad would i feel if I were wrong about their ill intentions. I was in New Orleans last year and the amount of money it would take to rebuild... i cannot even imagine. You have to remember the place is not totally gutted yet. I would encourage people to give their money because I can promise you.. I was there last year for relief work and they need all the money they can get. Since Brad put up some of his own money i would assume that his project is legit.
i like the thought of what brad pitt is try to do..
but 5 million dollors is not enough to build 150 home... who's the contractor who are ripping brad off....
an average home 2-4 bedroom completely built araange 45,000 - ok 75,000
times by 150 this still doesn't even spend the 5 million and he wants average people to donate their money...
tell him get the right contractor ... spend the money rt. show us the cost and why.. and if we see that are donation will really help when we may give up our money..
see the way i see it is i donated already.. and everyone in this country did... where did all that money go...... why has it took brad or oprah. and you even ellen to put up so much and all the money is where,,,,,,
come on ellen you can't tell me why money is lost...
cause its somewhere not helping those who need it.
i wished they put me in charge... i'd already would of rebuilt the who state. and still have money to help all the other in the us...
i do alot here for seniors and 10,000 we can complete overhaul someones home,, new roof, plumbing , siding and kitchen and bath... furniture and get them back into a very clean safe living arrangement..
my contractor make alittle but not what iam seeing here.. they are ripping off brad.. and anyone else who has given up their money..
iam sorry but i hear this and say keep your money... to all for before i'd tell them donate..
i don't understand why the cost of 5 million...or more to build only''''''''' only 150 homes...
\
what are they costing brad pitt to build 1 home...
his not build homes like he has..
he's build a 2-3 bedroom home... for people like me..
well let me tell u i won't donate to this cause , because someone else is gaining not the people..
give me 5 million and i'll build you more homes and i don't even know how too. but i do know several contractor who would build alot more homes for 5 million ...
let alone brad put up 5 million so how much more money does he want where's it going..
i like to see the rip off contracting bill he is being charged to only build 150 homes for over 5 million.. is he that stupid.. to think it cost that much.... iam sorry but a nice home at the most soul cost at least 45,000 to 50.000 this does not add up to 5 million, let he is asking for us to donate...
does he think the average persons is dumb...

Ellen,
Thanks for keeping the spotlight on New Orleans until things are made right.
You Rock!
Happy Birthday,
Tippie
