I have been able to view your show more now, as I have changed my dinner hour, You are the best talk show host I have seen in years, and I love the fact that you are not trying to sell or promote books as other talk show hosts do. Wish I could get to one of your shows, but due to my disability I can no longer travel much, nor far, Keep up the good work, Love your show, can't believe some-one thinks Gladys is a fake, But yet they watch WWF? and think that is real, what the hell? also how come they don't show reruns of soap, Laugh-in and Topper? have asked many, to no avail,

This is in response to "Lauren" who stated that Gladys is fake, that she is truly a "somewhat funny man pretending to be an old lady"......I do not think Ellen would do such a cheap trick as to make up this Gladys character. Nor would she let her staff do it. Maybe if it had been a one time phone call and then came clean that it wasn't real. But now, after 2 years? to keep continueing a "fake Gladys" would be unforgiveable! and very unlike Ellen!!
I believe that Gladys is real. I happen to know an old lady that talks and acts alot like her. My own grandmother, Alvina, who passed away 2 years ago.
Believe me, old people can and will say the damnest things.

Ellen, I am writing to you in behalf of my friend who will be 90 on Sept. 9th of this year, 2008. She is a wonderful person, full of fun, still drives and does her own housework and cooking and the two of us get together at least once a week. I was her oldest daughters best friend until she passed away several years ago.

I'm with Gladys and getting gas with a credit card. You really have to watch and not say yes for a car wash. Its really tricky. The next question is would you like a receipt! So its Credit/debit. pin #, zip code, car wash, receipt! I also like those tv's. NOT! I don't want to watch tv .. ie... get a lot of ads/commercials. I just want gas!!!

I'm with Gladys on getting back to basics! What would our founding fathers think of us???? Oh boy...
