I have a question. Ellen is vegan and believes in not eating or killing animals for consumption, but yet her line of Halo pet food contains animal meat. So its alright to not consume 2 oz of meat a day for herself, but yet use thousands of pounds a day to make dog food? Isn't that a double standard.?
I am confused as to where a vegan draws a line. Don't get me wrong, I love Ellen and am NOT a Vegan, but am still confused as to how this plays into the Vegan beliefs..

Ellen! Congratulations on your endeavor to become vegan!! The universe knows your intention, and I salute you! May you and yours be well, and blessed! Much love and light to you!

Ellen- Congrats on becoming vegan! As you know, veganism is a lifestyle. That leads me to ask how you can represent a company that has a record of being affiliated with the worst animal testing in the history of beauty products? I love you, and think you are an inspiring, intelligent woman. Please reconsider representing Cover Girl, or make them change their ways!!

I thought "gelatin from the sea" was an animal. I guess I missed something.

I want to add to my recent comment. The cow's milk is for its calf not for us. Think about the child being taken from its mother to a box and its life stolen in order that we should enjoy milk, cheese, icecreams, cakes, certain breads, sauces, soups mayonnaise etc., etc. It's a megaindustry. But think about the children in the slaughterboxes. There is no joy in this.

We humans produce milk when we need to. As we grow older there are calcium and vitamins in lots of other foods. Educate yourselves. Do not blindly believe doctors who want to eat these things.

The only way to really promote veganism is to talk about facts. Fact: The milk industry is driven by the slaughter of children (calves). The cow is forced to calve several times a year in order to continuosly give milk. The milk is stolen and sent to the industry and most of the male children are forced away from their mother and put in a box and slayed. Shame on us.
Becoming vegan to look good disgusts me more than I can say. Its a good biresult but WE ARE SLAUGHTERING CHILDREN. Its a icecold industry hidden by pretty commercials.

I was pleased to hear that Ellen has gone vegan. She had vegan physician Neal Barnard, MD on her show, but I have not heard her say teh word "vegan" on any of her shows, and I have watched many, and seen animal foods promoted in the past. It would be wonderful if she more openly promoted veganism, especially since Oprah fell off the wagon and unfortunately gave it up. Until we stop enslaving and tourturing other beings, we will never have peace. May all beings be happy and free from suffering.

God bless you for going vegan, Ellen. It is such a wonderful move--for the animals, health, and the environment. Hopefully, others will follow in your footsteps. I ate meat for 50 plus years and am now almost a vegan. I'm pretty sure I would have done it sooner if I had been aware of the cruelty.

If you are a vegetarian for any other reason that personal health (i.e. the important issue of animal rights) you might want to reconsider the Cover Girl affiliation. They are owned by Procter and Gamble a two min. internet search would clue any true vegetarian in on this, and knowledge is power.

Hey, Ellen! Just wanted to say that I think it's wonderful you are going vegan! I am an animal lover and have been vegan for two years. Until humans spread their compassion for all sentient beings, people will continue to be cruel to fellow humans. Veganism is a lifestyle that will the world a better place for everyone, human and nonhuman.

Ellen,

The recipe sounds great, although I don't know if we could keep it up all the time. Well, we'll try it and make improvements as we can. Great show again, as usual.
