My name is Jacquelyne Gray. I am a registered nurse. I am writing to you about the brutal murder of a child and the community trying to preserve his memory. Though it may sound biased, I believe that I am married to a man with the most pure and giving heart, he is Tim Gray, and is the Chief of Police in the small community of Paris, Kentucky where we live. I am writing to you on his behalf and the behalf of our citizens who are attempting to take a horrible tragedy and bring something good from it.On the evening of August 4th, 2007, my husband and I were attending our nephews wedding several hours from our hometown, when my husband received a call from the police dept that the body of a six year old boy, who had been reported as missing earlier in the day, had been found brutally murdered in the back of the garage at his grandfather's residence where he had been staying the weekend. My husband and I immediately left our nephews celebration to respond to the crime scene. When we arrived on the scene and went into the garage, the horror that met our eyes words cannot adequately describe. Laying at our feet was the lifeless body of a beautiful 6 year old boy, Wesley Dylan Mullins. He had been brutally murdered and because the man arrested for the crime is incarcerated, still awaiting trial, I won't go into detail in this letter about the specifics of the brutality, I will say that sexual abuse was involved. Although my husband had been a police officer for nearly 15 years, he had not been chief for even a year yet, and everyone expected him to turn this case over to our State police force for investigation. But he didn't. Our community had never experienced this type of evil. My husband as a police officer had witnessed many injustices during his career, but nothing of this heart wrenching magnitude. So, he brought our police dept together and rallied our community and they worked day and night, lived and breathed Wesley's death until the right person was arrested and indicted for the crime. That person was Louis "Buck" Ballard, a man who had been renting a room from Wesley's grandfather, who Wesley saw as a friend, someone he could trust, a man who had an extensive criminal background of sexual abuse and assault. Our community first fell apart. "How could something like this happen here, where everyone knows everyone?" But as our community mourned the death of this sweet innocent child, Wesley came to belong to all of us, and the need to keep his memory alive and to hopefully prevent another tragedy like this from ever happening again, became the new focus through a new project called Wesley's Place. An anonymous "Angel" purchased the property where the crime occured and three other neighboring properties and donated them for the building site. They have since been demolished and in that very spot where this horrible crime took place is the dream to build Wesley's Place, a building that will provide office space for non-profit organizations providing education and support for the prevention of child abuse and to offer family support. Our small community has rallied together to make this dream a reality with numerous fundraisers. Not including the donation of the property, we have raised over a 100,000 dollars toward this project in money and donated materials, with an estimated need of 200,000 dollars to see the project complete. This is a true story of a community coming together to try and make the senseless death of a sweet child stand for something positive, and my husband works night and day in addition to his job and his family to see this dream come to life. He has always rose to the occassion when someone has been in need, he made three trips himself with supplies to help those in need during the disaster of hurricane Katrina. This is small town America trying to make a diiference, and preserve the memory of this child and all children who have sufferd at the hands of abuse. Please help me to help my husband and my community see their dream come true and preserve Wesley's memory by taking an interest in this story and once again bringing the awareness of child abuse and how prominent it is in this country, even in small town America, to the forefront. We just need help getting the word out. It is our deepest hope that Wesley's suffering and death not be in vain. Please go to www.parispolice.org and you can follow the link at the bottom of the page beneath Wesley's picture for complete information on Wesley's Place. Your time and consideration is so very much greatly appreciated.Sincerely,Jacquelyne Gray

Dear Ellen
I video your show each day (as I am work when it is on in NZ)but unfortunately it is not on while the olympic games are on. We are now watching your show from thanksgiving last year....prior to that we were fairly up to date and when you had the last show on the NBC lot, that was when we went backwards! I am going to contact TVNZ and ask why we don't have it up to date anymore.
I thank you for making me laugh and for having guests who show us what living life is all about, who have a sense of humour and are obviously talented. Keep up the good work.

Hi Ellen,

I would like to tell you how much I love your show. I have 2 sons and one on the way and my three year old calls you Auntie Ellen when he sees you on the tv and he dances with you everyday. He loves the song Apple Bottom Jeans and dances and sings the words to the song (it's really funny.)

I would also like to congratulate you on your upcoming ceremony and think it is wonderful that you are finally able to make it legal with Portia.

You make everyone laugh everyday and it is great to have something to watch to brighten your day when you are just having an off day.

Good luck on your new set, wedding and this years upcoming show.

Hi Ellen, i'm writing about the olympic games, actually about the slaughter of animals, it's terryfing what goes on in that country. some people seem to be insane, that's whay i beg you to talk about this issue in your show. i've seen the most disgusting videos in Peta's website, animals being skinned alive, struggling to escape even after being ripped off their skin! Please try to do something we cannot keep on as if there's nothing wrong with it. Hope you can help them, kisses,
Caro
