Necessity Is the Mother of Kid Inventors

On Tuesday, Ellen welcomed the latest batch of Kid Inventors, and these Edisons of tomorrow had some great ideas; like 9-year-old Jack Caplan from Marlborough, Conn., who invented the "Kid Finder," and the very laid-back 9-year-old Eric Pierce from Dayton, Ohio, who invented the "Salt and Pepper Carrier."

Ellen, you are great with kids! You are just so respectful of them and I think they probably feel really great about themselves after being on your show. Forget the celebrities. The kids are my favorite segments of your show!

Love those kids' inventions Ellen! :) i'm waitin' for your new season! take care & love lots :) enjoy Italy!

I too would like a few sock pizzas. WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!! Anybody know how to get them?

Wow that is hilarious! I myself wouldn't wear that thoguh cus its kinda embarrasing..."His heart was RACING" the a pretty dramatic nine-year-old

How do I get a sock pizza??

Dear Ellen,

Watching your kid inventors has inspired my kids with excitement and imagination! The wheels are turning in their little heads. One has already invented. How does he get on your show?

Love Marian,
P.S. You always make me laugh!

Hi Ellen, Love the idea of having kids who invent things on your show. Kids these days can really use a reason to have their imaginations sparked!!
Love your show!!

Hi Ellen,

The little girl, I think her name is Sami Stevens who invented the sock pizza.I would say to her parents, get a patent and market that great idea. Good Luck.

Ellen, have a great night and see ya tomorrow.

I Love you,
Michele

By the way, do you ever read any of this mail?

Yes, she IS being abused (marks on the arm). Now it's in your lap...All the signs are there- you have the ability to do something- so do it. I worked with kids for years. If had your $ would certainly make a try at making a difference at this problem also. Thanks.

WOWEE! I SURE DO WISH I HAD A SOCK PIZZA! ELLEN, DO YOU DELIVER?

I HATE TO DO LAUNDRY. I DO IT AT MOST ONCE A QUARTER, GENERALLY ONLY ON HOLIDAYS. SOMETIMES ONLY TWICE A YEAR == NEW YEARS AND 4YH OF JULY.

A SOCK PIZZA IS A GREAT IDEA. I LIVE IN SUCH A SMALL TOWN THAT EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE OUR OWN ZIPCODE(32105) THEY DON'T DELIVER THE MAIL. HERE IN BARBERVILLE YOU HAVE TO HAVE A PO BOX. ELLEN, CAN YOU PRETTY PLEASE HAVE A SOCK PIZZA DELIVERED TO MY POST OFFICE BOX? PRETTY PLEASE WITH PEPPERONI ON TOP? I'LL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND.

THANKS IN ADVANCE, =====XINA

I am so disappointed. I missed the "sock pie" invention. I had to answer the door. I thought that's ok I'll just go to the website and see it, but the video clip only shows the "kid finder" and the "salt and pepper passer." How could I see what the "sock pie" is? If it is not too much to ask, could you just show that one part on tomorrows show? Or put the the 2 girls on their own clip on the website like the two boys are? I just love watching your show. I have systemic lupus, severe rhuematoid arthritis, dermatomyositis, and osteoparosis. So I don't get out much. I tried to get tickets to your Chicago show because that would be closer than California. I live in central Indiana. I never got a call. Hopefully someday I will get to meet you in person. I try to watch you everyday unless I have a doctors appointment or can't wake up enough, but that's the medicine. Thank you for the laughter. They say laughter is the best medicine and I have to agree. My son is 13 and has Tourette's Syndrome and loves to play guitar hero. I can't believe how good he is especially since his tics have become so bad, but he just plays his heart out. He has a PS2 with GH 1 and 2. I tried to win the Rockband for him and his 11 yr old sister, but I didn't. I told them someday hopefully I'll have enough money saved up for one. Hope you have a nice day. Good Luck on your move. Thank you for all you do. Sorry for rambling on. Love ya,Debbie

Hey scapegoats! Shake it loose together. The spotlight's hitting something that's been known to change the weather.

When they say it can't be done, I am not afraid of a single one. The force field without error over terrorism requires one to exhibit the decimating adult mathematical understanding of our common ground. When they try to take me off the middle pathway, I am not afraid. I am not a scaredie cat. They never counted. How about that for 1000 points of light?

Hi Ellen,

Can I get one of those automatic pet scratchers for my husband? I bought him a glove to use whenever our Golden Retriever gets up next to him when he sits in his lazyboy. But I guess that chair just makes my husband a little too lazy whenever he sits in it. The automatic scratcher seems like it would be the bomb for Apollo, out Golden Retriever.

Thanks a lot, Ellen, for letting me know. I get so much pleasure out of the features on your show.

Donna

Do you know if it is possible to buy the "sock pie" that the little girl invented? If they haven't patented it yet, they should. This is a wonderful idea. Kudos to you Ellen for always spotlighting great kids!
