I have to agree that these girls are the type I want my son to look up too. The sportsmanship and compassion that they showed is truly inspirational. I hope more people learn from what they did. Thanks Ellen, besides being the funniest on TV you have the heart and love to bring these types of stories to your show. looking forward to seeing more from you. Love from East Islip, NY , Lynda Nolan
A big thank you goes out to these girls for being such great examples. I am so moved by the selfless act of these girls. Much respect to them. I am a head softball coach at a high school in Texas and I am always talking to my girls about sportmanship. This is a great example I have shared with them and they loved it as much as me. Thank you Ellen for continuing to have such a great show!
This is why I love your show. You take what no one else even knew about and made it famous. I'm sure those girls loved the spa get away but I think you should get them a shoe deal. I'm tired of seeing professional athletes that later are busted for drinking, drugs and other inapproprate actions. These are the role models I want my kids look up to!
That women who won the car last week should watch this and learn something from these incredible young ladies!
Way to go girls!! Everyone of us could take a page from your book!! Your parents have taught you well. Ellen, as always you make me cry with these wonderful stories. The world is a better place for having you in it and bringing these wonderful people to us. You make us laugh and share inspirational stories. My 6 year old daughter and I watch you every morning. Everyone should start there day with you!

As a former CWU student athlete and a current student I am honored to say that I am part of the wildcat family. This is what sports are all about and you girls deserve all the attention and praise. GO WILDCATS!!
This is why I love watching Ellen. She brings on real people with great stories. This was great. Anyone who likes sports is proud of these girls!
This was an amazing story and it was so heartwarming to hear. My day really brightened up after I saw this story on Ellen in the morning. It's so great to know that so much good is happening out there in the world. Thanks for spreading the love!
I'm a Central Alumni that grew up in Ellensburg. This was so great to see! A very selfless thing to do! It was so great that they got so much recognition, and, wow, what a gift from Ellen!
Go Wildcats!
ELLEN: THIS IS SUCH AN AMAZING STORY. IT REALLY TOUCHED MY HUSBAND AND MY HEARTS. WHAT WONDERFUL KIDS THESE GIRLS ARE. What a way for the seniors on the team to have that memory as their last home game.
You Win in My Book.
Ellensburg Washington on the map.
Thanks Ellen for taking this story to more people.
We need positive and that is YOU
As the Aunt of one of the Central Washington Softball Team players I am so proud of these girls. It brings tears to my eyes to know what these girls did. We need more of this type of respect for others. Bravo to you girls! You have set a standard that I hope others will step up to.
Cheers to you!!!
What a story, the BEST i have heard in a wile. I had to retell it when i first heard it a few days ago.One of the people I told saw the girls were on Ellen and let me know a few minutes ago. I was able to watch on website. EVERY person should hear it, it is about so much more than sports. Bravo to the girls , the coaches and parents. The ultimate act of sportmanship!!!!!
I am a Central Washington University student and am so proud of our girls softball team, all of them! I think all the girls deserve praise for their great attitudes and commitment to playing the game the way it should be. Thank you lady WILDCATS you rock!
I just want to say "Thank You" to all of these ladies on both teams. This is such a GREAT exsample for all to see and to show our children. I am grateful that these ladies gave the world a wonderful display of what sportsmanship is all about.
Woop woop! Go Oregon!!

Well, I'm a 50-year-old male who stands 6'3" and weighs 265 lbs, but I cried like a baby when I first saw news video about this incredibly selfless act of kindness.
If the world had more people like these two young women, it would be a far better place. Their actions should serve as an example for us all.
Kudos to them both, and to the people who helped instill and nurture in them such a remarkable sense of generosity and fairness.
And, thank you, Ellen, for helping get their story out. It's a refreshing departure from the endless litany of bad news that so dominates the headlines these days.
