why do people get upset when someone says that they are unable to breastfeed??? That makes me so angry because it's people like that who cause starvation in children. When you tell a new mother that she HAS to breastfeed so instead of giving the child a bottle (when she can't breastfeed), she lets the child starve to death. Some people just can't do it. Before bottles, mothers would let other mothers breastfeed their children. Nothing new. Bottle fed or breastfed, at least the child is being fed. Doesn't make you any less of a mother.
Christina, you are a beautiful mother and little Max is sooo adorable!! Congrats and good luck to you and Jordan!:-)
Hmmm...no, that is not true. I feel compelled to respectfully tell you mama2,(and you too Andy, cause I know your checking) that we all know many women(myself included) who said that they couldn't breastfeed, or the famous, "they didn't have enough milk" That is simply women thinking they can breastfeed a baby on a bottle schedule, not stimulating the breast properly, which will decrease the milk supply. A common misconception. I blame society as much as the uneducated woman(on this subject) for not knowing this. As far a Christina's breasts...they are obviously full...of breastmilk. And I am happy to use this public forum to voice my opinion, Just as everyone has, and also happy to respectfully hear others.
C. Wow! You should feel fortunate that you were able to breast feed your child. Not everyone can. I could not breast feed my first child, but I did my second (for a year). I love both of my children and I am a good mom equally to them both. I could not breast feed my first, I have a disease that I was at the time receiving treatment for, to feed my baby would have done much more harm then good.... don't be so quick to judge.
The baby boy is gorgous and so is mom, enjoy it while it lasta. My son's name is Maximilliane, it means the great one, what a fitting name for one of the greatest talants of our time. Congrats to X-tina and family. Ellen I love your show, wish I could see it in person.
Blessed Be
Wendi,
Don't worry, you aren't a horrible mom just because you pour sludge ... I mean formula ... into your poor child. Certainly those of us who care enough to breastfeed think no less of you. Way to go, Christina, for making the right choice for your son!
Glad to see other people got close to my size while nursing as well ( i went from a 36D to a 38GG! Yes, they do make them that big! ) bad thing was, I couldn't even nurse they were too big for my son's mouth! I think she looks as beautiful as ever, motherhood looks beautiful in all shapes and sizes, no matter who you are!
"she has breast implants and has for a long time. I have seen pictures of Christina at a younger age and she was not that big with or with out the milk ... Those are fake. Pamela Anderson, has a BAD boob job that shows the implants under the skin, so did Anna Nicole. " Katherine Ross MD?
you seen christina at a younger age? and from that you determined that she could have not gotten that big? i went from a C cup to a double EE when i was nursing so it IS possible. She may very well have breast implants, I just think your reasoning is faulty.
and i find it rather odd that a plastic surgeon speak like this. doesn't sound very professional. especially coming from a woman.
Actually, that is quite untrue...Just in African American women alone the percentage of women that are physically unable to produce enough milk is much higher than 1 percent. They say it happens more to African American women more than any other race. Now include all the other races of mothers who are physically unable and you have a higher percentage. Yes, they say it is a lower percentage of women who can't over the women who can, but it is definetly more than one percent. I've known quite a few myself. Sometimes it is impossible to sufficiently feed a baby on just breastmilk when you are not producing enough.
I think all of you must be really bored if you have to take a fun clip and have such comments. Enjoy the show. That's why it's called entertainment. Should you feel the need to be heard and have an opinion then join a group or a debate team.
PS - Don't write back with some quick retort. I won't be checking.
Give her a break. I grew to a 34EE when I was nursing. I could leave the house somewhat 'normal' looking and if I was delayed getting home I was lucky if my shirt fit. I could have nursed the entire neighborhood! You have no control over how large they get when you are lactating. Beautiful baby!
I don't think women who decide to stop breastfeeding give their babies Cow's milk. Usually it's formula, right?
a few comments from me...
-first- I LOVE christina...and she looks amazing. I think she was hanging out a little much for me...bet still looked beautiful none the less...a very talanted and confident woman.
-second- There are of course other options if you can't nurse, but less than 1% of ladies actually can't nurse, most just think they can't and there is nothing better than breastmilk for your baby!! So don't give up easily and think that milk from a cow can compare, it can not!
-third- I LOVE Ellen too...she is funny and sincere...and always makes me laugh.
Please remember that nursing isn't for everyone and isn't the ONLY option to feeding your baby...for those of us who couldn't nurse but gave our babies the same amount of love, nutrition, and bonding....you are just as good as a mom as those who were lucky and ended up being successful at breastfeeding....moms who choose to use formula or can't breasfeed are no less of mothers than those who do...all of you nursing moms need to remember that!
Good Lord, cover those up a little more...totally distracting! It seems tasteless to wear something so revealing when your breasts look like they are aboout to pop!!
Christina is an amazing singer and the fact that she is open to talk about what ever is going in on in her life makes her more amazing... she is the kind of person that you would never dream of meting and when you see her in a TV show is just to cool to pas thats why every time she is on TV my friends and I just love watching her because she is just to down to earth and that makes her seem that she is just like us a normal human been... the only difference is that she has an amazing voice and she is call the best singer of her generation which makes her some what of goddess...I love watching her and Ellen because they always have the best conversations and they always make me laugh and its always refreshing to see them together...I love how always Ellen ask Christina the silliest questions and then Christina just answers its to cool to miss... I just hope that Ellen would have Christina in her show just Christina's fans would be able to see her in another light because they are both amazing and that makes a great combination...
I have always believed that this lady had much talent. I did fear for her a few years ago when she seemed not very happy, and the attitude appeared to be of "entitlement."
However, I am very proud of Christina and all she has overcome and her clear happiness now.
She appears to be grounded and appreciative and I am glad for that.
Good for you Christina. You deserve to be happy.
Bless you and and your family.

I flat out chose not to breastfeed after a constant 6 hours of hands on training from a Lactician Nurse and then 2 weeks of uncomfortable or painful nursing and unending engorgement. I even tried pumping, but if I fell asleep for just an hour, I'd wake up engorged again. And the baby seemed like his hunger was never ending. After consulting the nurse again and her responding with, "Oh, it's okay, it's not uncommon. There are people who just can't continue it, at least not for very long. Any breastmilk is better than none." I had no second thoughts about starting up formula. This 'can't' is just a common sense 'can't', there was no bond with my baby because I was wincing or uncomfortable the whole time. Two months after I started formula, the baby started sleeping through the night (at three months!) So I solved his hunger problems as well as my problems.
Breastfeeders and non-breastfeeders alike, you need to realize that everybody is different, each person is an individual - just like how they describe babies and toddlers when they have differences in development.
Ellen has a great show!!
