Ellen talked with Barack Obama, who was campaigning in Texas. It turns out that every time Ellen gets him to dance, his poll numbers go through the roof!
I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW AFTER THE NAFTA ISSUE THAT PROB CAUSED OBAMA TO LOSE OHIO , WHY THIS WAS NOT BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION AS WELL..
Prime Minister Stephen Harper's chief of staff said
someone in Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign gave
Canada back-channel assurances that her harsh words
about the North American Free Trade Agreement were for
political show, according to a report by the Canadian Press.
According to a person with knowledge of the incident, the
source was a CTV journalist.
"He said someone from Clinton's campaign is telling the
embassy to take it with a grain of salt. ... That someone
called us and told us not to worry," the journalist quoted
Brodie as saying, according to the report.
IM SURE SOME PEOPLE IN OHIO ARE NOT VERY HAPPY RIGHT NOW KNOWING THEY VOTED FOR HILLARY AND SHE CALLED OBAMA OUT ON CONTACTING THE EMBASSY WHEN THEY FIRST. YES LET ME SAY IT AGAIN SHE DID IT FIRST AND DID THE EXACT SAME THING.. WOW... THE NERVE..
YES WE CAN LOVE FROM PA..
ANGELA
Ellen,
Just watched your Friday broadcast show where you made your emotional speech about the young boy in Oxnard who was killed by a classmate because he was gay. I whole-heartedly agree with you that it was a horrifically, tragic thing to do and applaud you for making the statements you made today.
However, what I find most interesting is your statement that "I don't want to be political. I'm not a political person...." And yet, look who you had on your shows this week: Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. If showcasing two of the three frontrunners in the presidential election is NOT considered "political", I don't know what is!! Come on, Ellen, please stay out of the political scene. Your show has been most entertaining in the past without becoming political. To present only the Democratic candidates without giving equal air time to the Republican candidates is DEFINITELY political.
I would hope that you would get back to the business of hosting a wonderfully entertaining show, free of politics and bias, as soon as possible. When you began your show, it was slated to be uncontroversial and apolitical. Please get back to your original format.
To all the narrow minded people bashing Ellen. We are all entitled to our opinion. If you all remember a while back, Ellen told everyone that none of the Republicans would agree to do her show. Now why in the world should she give them the time of day. Clinton and Obama have both personally visited her show. Cheers to Ellen! I love ya
I am all for a woman president, just not THIS woman. Condi Rice and Margaret Thatcher are two women in politics who come to mind that I have not supported because of their ideologies, not because of their gender.
Someone brought up black men achieving the right to vote before women. Does that mean that a woman should get to be president before a black man for the sake of what, fairness? Some women suffragists also turned their back on abolitionists.
This Democratic campaign has made history by having both a woman and a man of color as candidates.
And the media has been fair in still treating Hillary as a serious contender after 11 losses in a row.
Anyhow, I am supporting Barack because I like bills that he has initiated and his track record in reaching across the aisle to get things done.
Plus, I'm a little bitter about being left behind as a Western New Yorker.
in regards to the pledge of allegiance:
Washington Post Awarded "The Scoundrel" Who Put The Obama/Pledge Of Allegiance Email Into Circulation "Four Pinocchios" On Its Fact Checking Scale, Which Classifies The Attack As A "Whopper." "Anonymous attacks by e-mail are, or at least should be, un-American. This particular one was also wrong on the facts: the ceremony in question had nothing to do with the pledge of the allegiance. We award the scoundrel who put the e-mail into circulation four Pinocchios." [Washington Post, 11/2/07]

in regards to this bs about saluting the flag...
Obama Voted To Require Pledge Of Allegiance Recital Requirement. Obama voted to require the Pledge of Allegiance to be recited each school day by students in secondary education institutions receiving public funds. [92nd GA, SB 1634, 3/7/02, 3R P; 54-0-0; P.A. 92-0612, 7/3/02; 92nd GA, HB 2077, 11/28/01, 3R P; 56-0-0]
AND THEIR ARE VIDEOS SHOWING HIM DOIN THIS ..
check youre facts .. READ UP!!!! FIRST BEFORE YOU COMMENT.. dont get dragged into all this gossip , do youre research first....

Wow Ellen,
Personally you really let me down. I can't believe as a woman you would sit and ask Clinton about glitter and jump on the bandwagon and gooo and gaaa with Obama about his first day in the White House. And listen to him say how his "wife has made hime a better person" to get those women vote. Please. You look like a weak, ignorant, unindependent woman. I have admired you for soo long and can't beleive you would join the Oprah bandwagon at least she had enough courage to pick one, but I guess you care about your ridiculous ratings more than I thought. Keep catering to an industry that abandoned you when you needed them most. Vote Hillary, be smart
Everyone needs to check out Obama standing with his hands by his side instead of over his heart for our national anthem. So he must be heartless!
Why would he want to be President of our country and he will not salute our flag??????????????????
I wish someone cou;d have him answer this one...
hi Ellen,
Kamusta ka na? (means How are you?)
hard for me to speak english..it took me 12 months to learn and write this note for you..all i wanted to say is I Love You Ellen!!!..i can feel your sincerity in making peoples happy everyday..thank you for allowing yourself be used as an instrument of inspiration to others..especially to me...by the way i like your song "emmy" ..i am happy to wash the dishes everytime you sing that song..
my name is marilyn from the philippines..and the only show i watched is "ellen the generes"..(i thought you spell your name this way)..but im wrong because you are Ellen Degeneres!!!..
Ma-bu-hay!!! (means long live) ka Ellen...
Ellen!
Please, please, smell the coffee!! This race has turned so much more about gender than anything else. As a woman, you must be feeling, and seeing the differences in treatment between Mrs. Clinton and Obama. No matter what she does, it's not the right or correct way. No one says negatives about Obama; almost treating him with kid gloves. She's getting slaughtered, verbally while some people are idolizing a guy that's only been in the Senate for less than 3 years. He has nothing to offer our country!!! I don't care how personable or cute some people think he is. That is NOT enough to run the USA!!
Wake up people!!!
ELLEN,
tHIS IS ONE TIME i WILL SAY MY HUSBAND WAS CORRECT. he said you would be fair and have my fav person obama on also, thank you so much...I love you and Obama.
Does President Bush intentionally interrupt your show?
In reading the various comments posted by others on your site, I've noticed that there are A LOT of instances where your broadcasts have been interrupted for this same reason.
We pay our hard-earned money to the Dish/Satellite & Cable companies for the broadcasting that we choose. This is the same hard-earned money that the Government takes a good percentage of – WITHOUT OUR CHOICE.
I agree with Lesley’s post from 5:27pm today that the Government needs to find an alternate means of broadcasting its “Special Reports” that don’t infringe upon OUR rights as citizens of the United States! This country is a democracy… NOT a dictatorship!
Hmmm… democracy… Democratic party… seems to fit for 2008!!!
Ellen,
Thanks for posting the segment on Sen. Barack Obama. President Bush spoke the entire you were on today, how disappointing. I specifically wanted to hear what Barack Obama had to say. I also love watching your show. You make me laugh every day. Thanks.

I totally disagree with some of the people who have posted here. You certainly have a right to your opinions, but you are trying to dictate who Ellen has on her show?
Ellen, I watch your show because you are NOT like everyone else and because you don't conform. Disregard the narrow minded people who posted prior to this.
Geesh.

"Being gay is okay."
--Ellen Degeneres
Being heterosexual is okay, too--and we've God's approval to boot, Ellen.
Every time you tell our youth that being "gay" is okay, you mislead them simply through personal conviction and without scientific warrant, and every time activist judges rule in favor homosexual marriage, they do so in direct violation of both existing earthly law and biblical decree.
So breaking the law is...necessary? Wise? Beneficial?
Wonderful message, yours. Very uplifting to the less than one-percent of Americans who believe themselves homosexual.
