A Fallen Idol Rises Again

Josiah Leming may have gotten eliminated from American Idol but Ellen welcomed him with open arms. Ellen is a big fan and made sure that Josiah didn't leave empty handed.

He's too sophisticated for AI. Glad he got bumped, now some record company that sees his talent and that doesnt care for Simon can sign up Josiah. Hopefully JL will make more money that way and find some good mentors for a tough, but rewarding business.

He's got guts, passion and creativity for his work, (something a lot of PhDs don't have). He can always get a tutor to get his GED on the road if it suits him.

He has inspired me (and I have a PhD).

Great performance you did it ellen. You did it again giving back is what you do and I am grateful to see you every day doing just that. Keep it up and Josiah keep moving you can do it, and I am a fan.

I love that kid. He is so innocent and hardworking, how could you not love that kid? I was upset at first that he was kicked off American Idol, but everything happens for a reason and that won't be the last of him!

My son is 16 years old, plays the guitar, and writes, so when I saw Josiah and heard of him, I so wanted him to make it. It is hard to get into this type of business and finding someone as Ellen to show off these young people as she does is wonderful. Josiah immediately touched my heart as I watched him on American Idol, I can't imagine my son being his age and on the road while sleeping in his car. Josiah, I think you are so talented and have more strength in yourself than you realize. While I can see the fear and heartbreak in your song and eyes, I can also see a very determined young man that will do great with lots of hard work. Keep writing and singing, but also finish your schooling, it is important in the long run and would be a wonderful gift to give yourself and your mother. I will keep you and your family in my many prayers. Good luck in your endeavors. By the way, we live in Sevierville, TN. close to where you live and I know your friend Nikki, I go to college with her. Good luck again.

CANADA LOVES YOU JOSIAH!!!

im pretty sure he's the most talented 18 year old right now.
i kind of knew he'd get kicked off American Idol because they want someone like Carrie or Kelly. They want a pop singer who'd be on the top 40 countdown. This guys a musician. he's absolutely brillant, so much better than the show. i thank american idol for letting him come to hollywood and letting millions see his talent. i love him :)

He is going places. Thanks Ellen for bringing him into the light!

I have never been on this blog before, but on Ellen's homepage there is a beautiful mission statement from Ellen that talks about positive energy. That is what she has done for Josiah, acted as the catalyst for all this beautiful, heartfelt positive energy coming from so many people. Josiah, stay true to yourself, keep your passion and keep it real, America loves you and I really think you could be a huge success in Europe as well. Kudos Ellen for caring about this brilliant young man.

I was soooo upset that American Idol said no to him going forward. He is pure talent! Love his voice....he will make it big!

Good luck.....I will be looking out for his first album.

He has a talent- I would put money behind this kid to get his start. Josiah, if you read this blog- email me, and we can discuss.

Ellen,Thank you for bringing the talented songwriter back.BTW:Josiah im ur Big Fan.Take care

No doubt about it...Josiah leming has that special something. I tuned into idol tonight just to see him for this season. I was shocked to see he was not there. What a character. Great intuition Ellen. Perhaps he does not need idol. Maybe he is all ready to shine now. Love your show and your heart Ellen. Prayers for Josiah and his mom.

Thank You!!! I had emailed you last week to have him on and to show him some Ellen love on behalf of America - I think you did Good!!!Please keep us up to date on his progress.

Hey Ellen, Thank you so much for putting Josiah on the show. Me and my gf were going to pray for him that he would be heard, but before we could get to it we saw that you had welcomed him...I have been playing piano for 15 years and am obsessed with anything that has meaning, and when listening to his songs on youtube, especially "her" i couldn't believe my eyes or ears...it was as if john lennon and paul mccartney had merged into one and started off in an 18 year olds body...that's a huge compliment i know but i really believe he has what it takes to make a new legend if he doesn't let hollywood get to his head....if you have contact with him please tell him i said that! because i'll never be famous to tell him myself...:) Jesus loves you.

Its not important to have a high school diploma to make it big this is true, but what a high school diploma says about you is that you complete what you start. That you are responsible and that you are willing to work for something you want, that you don't expect to get it by demeaning means like Josiah did. I would not hire him, he shows none of these things. I have a PhD. and I have my own practice. Josiah is very lucky that in the world we live in right now, anything goes, and that includes playing the sympathy card. Also h is not working his butt off, yet. Living in a car by one's own choice doesn't take much work, thats the whole point isnt it!

Hi Ellen, This is my first time in your website, I just want to ask why if in Puerto Rico were American citizens, we cant participate of your contest. Im so sorry, Im your fan and now my husband is also your fan. I saw the show every day with my son and his wife. They lived in Orlando, Fl and I going to babysitter their baby in the month of the Universal Show. I used my son address because on those days my husband is going to visit me, and I wish to receive the good news that a I could be part of your show. Sorry my English, Im try hard and I think is not to bad. Ja! Hugs and Blessings for you and your beautiful mom. Love Ada Polo

I THINK YOUR VOICE IS SOOO COOL!

What Josiah needs is to get his act together and get his GED. He made the decision to live in his car nobody threw him out of the house. It appears to me he won't be told what to do by society or his parents so he left to do it on his own, that in itself is very brave, but he needs to know that he won't get everything in life by making people feel sorry for him. He is very lucky there are Ellen's in this world. My son got a mixed message from this event. He thinks all he has to do to make it in life is find someone with a lot of money who feels sorry for him like Josiah did. I had to explain to him the things Josiah did wrong from the get-go. Josiah cannot sing, they were right to cut him out. As far as his song writing is concerned, the jury is out on that and only time will tell.
