Hi, Ellen,
I have watched and loved you since I saw you on Johnny Carson! You just keep getting better and better!
I thought you could get this message to Justin Timberlake easier than I could find him:
Justin - you were absolutely hilarious and fantastic on the Espy's the other night!! Did you write any of the material (and song)? You should definitely host Oscars, Emmys, Grammys, etc.
Love to both you and Ellen,
Ann Pennewill

We've tried the card trick over and over with no success. Please can someone help. After you fan out the nine cards and select your card what happens to the original nine cards ?? Do they go back on the deck or are they set aside ??.
question #2 I guess I'm confused as to is there two seperate piles or do you work from just on.
question #3 When the instructions say put the extra cards on the top are they counting the deck as the extra cards ???? HELP, HELP,
I LOVE THE TRICK AND IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY THAT I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO IT.

Re: American Express

After 25 years of marriage I was divorced in the mid-80s. We sold our large custom built house in a wonderful community so I had money in the bank. We had nice cars, and paid our bills on time. I had gone back to work and was making almost as much as my husband.

But my name had not been on mortgage or any account. When trying to open accounts with credit card companies, department stores, etc., I was turned down right and left. Even utility companies required down payments larger than normal. Yes, thank heavens, things have changed since the "good ol' days."

American Express was the only company to give me credit and I made sure I paid them on time. In the past years my lifestyle has taken downward spiral but even now as a senior living on limited income, I pay AMEX before my utilities. I can't pay it all but I keep chipping away.

I am sorry for your bankruptcy but consider it as a fresh start. Good luck!

want an autographed stuffed cat, this is in memory of my deadcat named niles. my address is 2920 58th ave ne tacoma wa 98422.

Ellen,

I really like your show and often find myself giggling or crying as you move through your many talented and interesting guests.

I have recently had a problem when I saw that you are being sponsored by American Express. For over six months I have been in severe financial distress trying to make payments on time and on several occasions I have begged Am Ex to agree to a settlement agreement with me on my debt to them. Their inflexibility and unwillingness to negotiate a settlement with me has forced me to file Bankruptsy and thereby be unkind to my other creditors all of whom were willing to settle. I feel sure as I write this that I represent 100 other viewers who feel the same way about the Bastards at American Express.

Please drop them even if you have to invite Exxon Mobile to join your support team.

I invite your personal response,

Gordon F Rhodes

Card tricks across America. It works, my card was the 7 of dimmonds. This was better than playing my Nancy Drew mystery game on my pc.

I love this card trick.

rerun yes... but I have a new set of eyes as I am a different person than I was. like I just noticed golddigger game was called money grab. I was like oh.. man.. where have I been... why didn't I notice this before? See different.. new perspective... different time. I even got the joke about ... where you hide your money! You hide it in the money grab machine so it takes more time for the thief to steal it! LOL.... oh man ... that was funny... I laughed out loud!!! That .. hey ... I need one of those!!! If I can't catch it I shouldn't spend it!.. but hey wait a minute.. I don't have a lot of money to put in there .. which reminds me ... my goverment stimulus... landed in my checking account to pay off a chunk against my credit card debt and it sucked it up like a dry sponge on spilled milk.. Yes I do cry over my spilt milk! LOL Speaking of milk. I recently bought soy milk. I LOVE IT!!! IT TASTSE REALLY GOOD!!! I don't think I'll go back to skim milk. Sometimes I drink 1% but mostly its skim. Its sooo tasty! Really good with Cheerios. Thought.. .imagine how good it would be in a recipe.:) Wow.. I watched Paula Dean this past Sunday... 6 shows back to back and she made some kind of home made bread.. zuchini? and chocolate chips? I think? It looked really good!

Ellen,
You had a magician on this week who had you fill a cup with water and he turned it over on top of your head. It was actually diaper fill , and I think this would be a great way to keep my son still for a few minutes. How do I get the video of that show??

Hi Ellen,
I tried the card trick and it did not work. Sorry but Criss Angel does it better. Oh by the way, Criss Angel is going to be in New Orleans next week performing a strait jacket escape upside down with two strait jackets on.

THERE'S A MISTAKE. The instructions here are slightly different than what Ellen did on her show. In order for this trick to work, you have to count at least 3 cards on step 7. On the show, Ellen counted to 4 before she told people they could stop anytime.

I was so excited about this trick, I couldn't wait to show my husband, who loves this sort of thing. But then I deleted the show by mistake. I was so upset. I was happy to find the trick here, but when he tried it, he couldn't get it to work--he tried one and two cards on step 7, never higher. Fortunately, after some hunting, I was able to find the actual video of the show. Once he watched the video, he figured out the mistake with these instructions.

Hi Ellen,
I have to say that the card trick was one of the highlights of my week. I always am looking for something to bring to the dinner table and that was perfect. I don't know how it works but I have to admit that I spent the better part of the day trying to find out via google(ing). No worries...I am certain that at some point you will disclose "how to" on one of your future shows.
You are the best!!
Ps. My 3 year old calls you Ellen the generous and the minute she hears your theme song starts to Ka ka!!! She only stops when you finally do it. One day you didn't do it and I had to hear her Ka kaw for 2 hours!
Keep making people happy! It is your destiny!

I watched your show on Mon., Feb. 25 and on the game show portion, one of the ladies was asked, on which game show do the contestants say, No whammy...the lady answered Whammy and was told she was incorrect. The other contestant answered, Press Your Luck and was told she was correct. Well, in reality, the first answer of Whammy was also correct. The first show was named Press Your Luck, but the next show was named "Whammy". It was just Press Your Luck with bigger, meaner whammys thrown in.

The first contestant should be given something besides the gift she got and I should be given something for noting the gaff.

Love your show when I'm home to watch it.

p.s. I'm just kidding about the gift.

Hi, Ellen! I had my cards ready yesterday and much to my amazement, your card trick worked! I didn't believe it would happen a 2nd time, but just went up online and followed your step by step instructions, and it worked again. That's so cool! Thanks for the entertainment and keep us laughing!

hey, Ellen, the trick doesn't work if I stop you when you were counting 1 and 2. then the third card, which is my card, goes on top, and it would be thrown away.

Your card trick was GREAT and fun! I was watching your show with my sister, had our cards ready ~
thinking this just can't work. We both were thrilled, it WORKED. Thank goodness I had recored the show, so I was able to write down the steps. Can't wait to show my grandchildren.
Your show is such fun and uplifting. I would love one day to come to one of your shows.

Ellen,
What the february!????? Awesome card trick! It really truely works! Thanks a million. My mom and I watch you every day. She calls me about 3 or 4 different times during your show just to say "did you see that? or did you hear what ellen just said." We love ya, and thank you for giving my mother and I something to actually talk about.

Your #1 fan,
Kim ! HAllA! all the way from Roachdale Indiana!

Hi Ellen!

My Mom and I loved the card trick and can't wait to wow the kids and grandkids with it!! I know it must be mathmatical somehow, but we can't figure out why it works -- WAY COOL! Thanks for making my Mom (and me) smile everyday. She is recovering from breast cancer and is on her third of four chemo treatments with radiation to follow. Keep up the great work -- you were born to entertain!!

Dear Ellen, Will ewe do magic ON me or WITH me again? I got a distinct message from the instruction sequence, but I not sure I caught the trick. Maybe I'm a slow learner of some things and I need personal instruction...I pay well...I WILL pay well and concider it a pleasure to do so. Or, if your prefer we can trade it out. I'll teach you doctor stuff and you teach me slight of hand... their probably similar now that I think of it. Soon I hope...yes I do... Sincerely, Sphoon

Hi Ellen, love your show, in these times, it is so refreching to have fun & laughter in our lives.

About your card trick, it worked most of the time, but I tried it with my husband, which also happened to me....What happens when your first #picked is 9 then your discard # is nine there are not enough cards left??????????? Whats up with that?????? Thanks, have a great day.

Sorry, but can't get the trick to work. The step-by-step instructions are different than the video and the way Ellen did the trick on her show. Seems like the random selections are really not that random, e.g. if you pick the 7th, 8th or 9th card from the left initially.
