Halo for Some Burly Angels

On Monday, Ellen welcomed several members of Long Island’s “Rescue Ink.” These scary-looking angels spend all their free time rescuing animals in trouble and helping animal lovers in need. To help out, Ellen gave them $10,000 in Halo products and another $5,000 for additional rescue equipment. To find out more about Rescue Ink, or to donate to their cause, go to http://www.rescueink.org.

R. Hayes

That was reallly touching.. Keep up the good works guys :)

keep up the good work guys

I LOVED the Rescue Ink guy's today.I have five dogs of my own& a cat.Sonny(blk.lab)my husband brought home, someone dumped him at construction site in Houston.Angel(yel.lab)I found on side of road with 3 littermates. They were killed by cars,I brought her home.Tazz,Chewy&Gizmo were given to me.Their Pekinegse.Had to bottle feed Gizmo his Mom died when he was 4days old.He weighed 2oz.when I brought him home.I can't stand people who hurt animals,THEY DEPEND on US!!!If I could I would take all unwanted animals.Oh! Spot is my cat,she was my neighbors. Her dogs kept attacking her,so I adopted her.My dogs don't mess with her.All my Kid's(dogs)are spoiled rotten. There my LIFE!!

Thank you Ellen for having this awesome group of guys on the show!! I wish we had a group like that in Texas. I have two pit bulls and they are spoiled, friendly, lovable, awesome dogs!! I think it is great that guys like this are out there to help in stopping the abuse of this breed (and all animals).

WTG Rescue Ink!!!!!!!

The Rescue Ink segment was great today. These tough looking, likeable guys are doing what state and local bureaucracies seem incapable of doing in finding lost and stolen animals and stopping pit bull fights. They are finding homes for animals at what appears to be a more expedient rate than local agencies.

These guys would be great as a reality show. It would be entertaining to see the looks on the faces of the cowardly abusers when these guys show up. There would be a happy ending for many of the rescued and found animals that is not present on other reality shows.

It was great that you gave them $10, 000 of animal food and money to help these volunteers. That and the guys humanity left me with a good feeling.

Please have these guys on again.

Absolutely loved these guys!! I think it's great that people are stepping up and being the voice for animals that don't have one.

Rescue Ink, what a great group of men. Thank you for being a voice for abused, negelected animals. However, there just aren't enough of you. Oklahoma is not a real animal friendly state and we could sure use some guys like you here. Overpopulation of animals is a human problem, not an animal problem. No animal should ever suffer abuse from a human. I just hope you continue to do what you do and there will be a great place in animal heaven for you. Thank you again for a great job. All of the rescued animals thank you too.

Often times we think it's not our problem and someone else will deal with it because we cant be bothered or don't want to get involved.
Thank you Rescue Ink for being part of the solution while the there are still so many that are part of the problem. Keep up the great work.

Big thanks for having the guys of Rescue Ink on your show today. If there were more people out there like them, we wouldn't have so many horrific stories of animal abuse. Keep up the good work guys.... And Ellen, keep bringing positive role models on your show, those guys are awesome!

I am glad there are guys that scare people who abuse animals. They are loveable and cute. If that is what it take's to look like a biker or the mob all to them help the one's who make live's happier the cats and dogs.

These guys are awesome!! I love their image. They portray such hard exteriors but have such big hearts. We need more people like this in the world. Lets stop animal cruelity together. Thanks guys for all the good work you do.

Had just heard about these guys about a week ago on Petfinder.com, so when I heard yesterday they were going to be on today's show I was THRILLED!!!
Thanks Ellen for having them on and be sure to keep on bringing them back! :)
We need more guys (and girls) like them around!
Thank you Rescue Ink for all you do for the animals!!

Hi Ellen,
Thank you and your staff, for finding Rescue Ink.Got to get the message out that the mistreatment of animals, will not be tolerated in society.Thank you. These guys are great. Love you,
Michele

I started watching the little preview clip for these guys, and I was like, "I wish I had them where I live!" And, two seconds later, it was revealed they were from Long Island.

I live on Long Island.

I was so excited. It's wonderful to have these great guys nearby. I love animals, and the fact they're out there helping all they can (on their free time at that!) really truly makes me glad. We need more people like them in the world.

I going to do whatever I can to help. Wildlife Warrior or local hero, I support animal causes with my whole heart.

i dont think i even made to the end of their segment before i was rushing to see if they were on myspace. they are! these men are amazing people. i was so touched by what they do that i cried just watching them talk. i also love the fact that "normal" people will be able to see that not all "scary" people are bad people.

ps. im already madly in love with john o.

Today I watched your show, as I do every day, and when I heard you were having Rescue Ink on, I immediately posted a bulletin on Myspace letting all my animal loving friends know that they needed to watch your show. Today was my first time seeing them, and I am so impressed with them. What they do is just amazing. I truly believe that Abusers are Losers.Thank you so much Ellen for getting the word out about Rescue Ink, and the importance of letting others know that if they abuse an animal, they can be arrested, or worse. The rescue Ink can show up at their door and scare the heebie jeebies out of them..lol

Thanks,
Lisa Harper
