Halo for Some Burly Angels

On Monday, Ellen welcomed several members of Long Island’s “Rescue Ink.” These scary-looking angels spend all their free time rescuing animals in trouble and helping animal lovers in need. To help out, Ellen gave them $10,000 in Halo products and another $5,000 for additional rescue equipment. To find out more about Rescue Ink, or to donate to their cause, go to http://www.rescueink.org.

My brother-in-law is BATSO and he just brought home a dog he rescued and named her INCA. She is a tan colored pit bull mix and is just beautiful. I missed your show the day that Rescueink was on and I was wondering when it will be repeated during the summer?

Hey Ellen, I am sick that I missed the show...(Is there anyway to view the recording of the episode?)

I am on Long Island myself and daily read all of their postings on craigs list.....I think these guys are great and selfless....More people need to be aware of owning a pet entails....yeh their cute but they are a living loving being who need us as we need them....

We have 3 dogs now one who I just adopted 2 months ago off of craigs list and 2 cats.....Years ago my husband brought home a shep/pit/mutt mix puppy that a passerby found in a garbage pail in front of his police pct in Brooklyn......hence we named her Brooklyn....she is no longer w/us but to this day I can't understand why someone would take a helpless 6 week old puppy and place it in a garbage pail and basically setting its fate for doom....

I applaude all that these men do for these animals....and would glady lend a helping hand should they ever need.....

I'm a female on long island w/2 tatoos and a love for all furry animals....lol

Thanks for putting the word out for these Great men and great cause....Keep up the good work Rescue Ink..... as my 10 year old would say

" YOU GUYS ROCK ! "

Suzanne from Long Island

Rescue Ink guys were great ! have them on again. Please support their work.

Hi Ellen,

I love the work that Rescue Ink does, it's just a shame that so many animals need rescuing. When I heard how many e-mail/phone calls they get I thought how pathetic that is that so many abandon or abuse their pets. I agree with one of the other comments you should keep in touch with them and let us hear some of their amazing stories.

Love you Ellen. Watch every day. Thanks!!

I admire all that you do. My baby loves you as much as I do. She is one and she smiles and claps her hands when she sees you. You speak your mind and tell the truth, you change many peoples life, you make everyones day that watches you, you have acoplished alot just having fun on tv more then you probley know. I am glad I found this page, because I wanted you to know how I felt and I know that I am not the only one that feels this way I am not much of anyone elses fan. You are the best and stay the way you are. Thanks for everything Nicole

Thank you for having Rescue Ink on your show. If everyone took a cue from these men the lives of animals would be much better. There are not words to express my gratitude towards these guys.

I so wanted to see this show, but I got called in to work.( I almost quit!) Anyway, my story is that when my husband and I were dating, a guy at a party was bragging about how he had tied a German Shepherd puppy to the bumper of his car and dragged it til there was only the collar left, my husband was enraged and punched the guy out...we know this was wrong, but sometimes emotions get the better of you when you're only 20 years old. Anyway, the guy pressed charges and my then boyfriend went to court expecting that the dog abuser would get in deep trouble...not so. My husband ended up seving a month in jail for assault and the abuser got away scott-free. I have always been so proud of my husband for what he did, but he doesn't ever want our children to know he had been in trouble with the law. In my heart, my husband deserves to be commended for what he did, and now, I think Rescue Ink is in some way, a way of saying that times are changing.
Thank you guys and Ellen for bringing this to the public. The moral of this story is...If you are going to Avenge the Death of an Innocent, Make sure there are NO WITNESSES!!!

I HAD READ AN ARTICLE IN OUR PAPER ABOUT THESE SPECIAL GUYS......AND I SAID TO MYSELF I WISH ELLEN COULD HEAR ABOUT THEM.....
.I KNOW SHE WOULD HELP THEM OUT, AND GIVE THEM A WELL DESERVED THANK YOU.....
SO I WAS SO HAPPY SO SEE YOUR SHOW, WITH THE RESCUE INK MEN, AND HOW NICE YOU WERE TO THEM..
.I KNEW IT!! I KNEW THAT BIG HEART OF YOURS WOULD ACKNOWLEDGE THEM.
ELLEN YOU ARE A GREAT GAL.
YOUR FAN,DONNA

Thanks so much for putting Rescue Ink on your show. There needs to be more people like that out there. More people willing to stand up for the innocent. Animals can't speak for themselves, so we need to do it for them. I would greatly like to see more shows that focused on animal abuses-not just cats and dogs, but pet birds, lizards, and factory farm animals too. People need to be educated on how these animals are being treated. Thanks again.

I loved the Rescue Ink and i think its great what they r doing! Bring them back to the show one day a week for now on!..lol They rock!

Rescue Ink rules!! There is nothing better(or sexier) then tattooed men saving animals. I friggin love them and I love Ellen for being such an awesome animal lover!!!

Ellen,

You have such a great show! You are so hip to all of the new and amazing things going on. Thank you for promoting Rescue Ink. I know that you are a big animal lover and appreciate you using your show to increase awareness about animal rights issues. I know these guys to great work both in NY and helping other rescues. Thank you for helping them!

These guys are awesome--hopefully this will inspire other guys to jump in and help the rescue groups out there now or form one of there own---Sure could use them here Southwest Lower Mich---

Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart!!!!!!!!!

Lisa: I seen you can't watch that aspca commercial either. As soon as I hear that "Arms of an Angel" I start getting choked up! My husband ends up having to change the channel every time. I thought I was the only one.

Thank you Ellen for having Rescue Ink on your show. You're too awesome! Anybody who helps spread the word about these guys is awesome, so everyone be sure to check them out and let your friends know! They are also on myspace. I have them on my top friends since they're so friggin cool. I believe the address is myspace.com/rescueink, if not mine is myspace.com/tigerlady79 and you can reach em from mine. I'm pretty sure they have a link on their actual web site as well. They are very active in the myspace community. I couldn't tell you how many new animals these guys have put up on bulletins/blogs to help. Every day they're helping more and more victims. These guys rock!!!!!

Thank you, Ellen for having Rescue Ink on your show, you have helped greatly by spreading awareness.
Don't forget to look these guys up in myspace, add them and please, everyone, there is so much to be done, keep in mind what this group of dedicated men does. Every man, woman, and child can do something, never feel helpless, and never feel alone. Get involved!
Thank you Rescue Ink and all AR/HR activists.

Thank you so much Ellen for educating the public about this incredible group of heros!! I find it so comforting to know that these guys are on the side of animals!! I went directly to their website and joined their cause! I am 40 years old and recently went back to school so I could help animals and the one "ANGEL" that said "animals are innocent" was so right!! All they are are unconditional love and we DO need to protect them! I am in California and will do anything in my power to help Rescue Ink branch out to this coast!

Thank you again Ellen and please have them on as many times as you can to keep educating the public as well as warning those who abuse that we are coming after them!!

I never knew these guys exsisted till I seen them on your show. They are from my area. I went straight to there website to get involved. I am inked and I love animals. I can't even what that ASPCA commerical , I cry.

Good job too you guys!!!!!

Ellen ,please have them on again ? Let's us know how well they are keeping our four footed friends safe and cared for.

Rock On my INKED BROTHERS!!!!!

You should have a regular segment with these guys. They are amazing!!! As a fellow animal lover, I am so touched by what this whole organization does and I hope there are more people out there that will help support their cause!! Rescue Ink - you are my heroes!

After watching your show on Friday with the Rescue Ink group on, I immediately emailed Animal Planet to watch your segment on this selfless group of tattooed tough guys trying to save abused animals. What a great addition they would make to Animal Planet's Animal Cop line up of shows. With greater awareness , the amount of animals saved could be limitless. I hope you can pull some strings and present this great group of people to the Animal Planet higher-ups. As an avid viewer of both Ellen and Animal Cops, I'm sure other animal advocates would feel the same, get them on the air to educate people! Ellen you rock on behalf or bi-peds and four legged friends!
