I have admired you Ms. Ellen for as long as I can remember. You are an inspiration. I am in a situation, where I am in need of so many kindnesses. I was taught to give more than I take and somehow that has filled my heart with joy but left my pockets empty. In this world we live kindnesses are hard to come by. My daughter & myself struggle everyday with making ends meet. Blessings abound but we feel alone & when providing what we need. We are in a legal battle to save our home & it seems we get by on so little. We will come through this just fine I have faith. Our concern is that we give our pets so much love but struggle with their basic needs. Those without a voice have been our passion. We have acquired 6 cat friends, 3 dog friends, & 1 bunny friend to share our lives with. ALL STRAYS ! We couldn't bear parting with them because visits to the vet giving them adequate food or meds are just too hard to come by. We have recently moved & have not made any real friends yet & do not know whom to turn to for some help with caring for our pet family. I found a church for us to attend & have had to, for the first time in my 50 years ask for help with food. The church gives to us whole-heartedly & we are blessed with volunteer work to pay them forward. We are making due with what we have but what about our blessed furry friends? When the money is gone because of skyrocketing electric bills, higher gas prices, and just trying to live a humble life, where is the help to provide better for our pets? I listen to our next President, Mr. Barack Obama, & hear him tell the story of how his family once used the American welfare system to get back on their feet. Why is there NO WELFARE or help for people & their pet needs? I look around me on the streets & behind dumpsters in the town we live & see neglected babies, with no voice, living in the streets, hurt, neglected, hungry & alone. We have taken many in found them homes taken them to no-kill shelters & love the fact that we are able to help. But when we arrive home our hearts ache because we could do so much more for our own with help to make it through these hard times. The other night while trying to sleep, an idea came to mind. What if someone opened a food & help pantry for those struggling to feed & care for their pets ?! There are food pantries for people, but I can find anything for pets. I've been turning this over in my head, but do not know how to get something like this started. I have spoke to my church, the local Animal Shelter, but they shrug it off or look at me as if I’m a little nutty or say they can’t help. But, I think to my self "why not?" I will not rest until I find help for those I know & myself. I don’t even care if someone uses my idea to put this in place, at least then there will be help that may reach us here in Live Oak, FLA. You really should see this Ms. Ellen, dogs, cats everywhere, on the highways, in fields, around businesses, it seems to be happening in epidemic proportions! My heart is broken. I am sure I am not alone in my concern of providing for those God sent creatures in the world that do without just because someone thinks their needs are not important. I will not forget my promise to my Heavenly Father to always just give, give, give of myself & hope & pray that someone can someday give this idea a try. Everyday I strive to humbly serve those around me when I can get out, but don’t much because of problems w/ affording gas or just not enough money to leave my home. Well I have sooo many more hard-luck stories concerning those I know who are struggling to provide for themselves & their pets. Just ask & we will tell you. Sounds like a lot of complaining but we are broke now when we weren’t just a few yrs. before & wonder how we will make it through. Miss Ellen, you know so many serving souls & wanted to write to see if you think helping sooo many could be a reality? Please let us know. Thank you for the love you bring to this world. I pray for Peace in this world & Peace in our hearts, Peace in our minds. Bless you & yours, Rebecca & Laura Hunt

Hi Ellen:
I enjoy watching your show so much because
I'm disabled and not able to get out except to doctors appointments. I do wish that you would
put more of your comedy into the show once in a while. The time you immitated Phillip Seymour
Hoffman in the movie Capote was so hilarious.
You should put more content like that in your
show. You're so talented. I'm so happy about you
and Portia's marriage. Sorry to hear about the
passage of proposition 8.
Good luck at the daytime emmys this year.
You're still the best in my opinion.
Sincerely,
Gwen Gerardi

Hi Ellen,
Even tho I work everyday, I DVR your show. I saw the man from the Animal Humane Society and was so touched. I have always loved animals, having 3 cats saved from rescue and 2 dogs (1 saved from a Humane Society). I think is it so great that you have your own pet food line that is healthy and have adopted your own pet family. I commend you and love you immensley. Congratulations on your marriage to Porcshe! The world has finally come up with some correct rights. Hopefully they will have a woman's mind and come to their senses on all the other important decisions regarding our government's other important topics. I love you and just had to let you know!
Best Wishes on your new season,
Lily
