Giullian Barre "French Polio"...I have it. it is a painful, wretched thing...it has adversely affected my life in so many ways...I was paralysed and unable to work for an entire year. I have made great strides at reclaiming my life but, I still struggle with day to day things...and now, to top it off, I am losing my home. This little known disease affects approximately 3000 Americans a year...some people never recover. I, I have been told, am a 'miracle' as originally, the Drs did not think I would ever walk again...I am proof positive that the love and support of family aides in recovery. I owe my independence to my parents.
I am certain that you get all kinds of e-mails like this...but, I need help...can you help me?
Hi Ellen: Whaaz up?? I watch you nearly everyday and it started out of laziness. You see the remote needed a battery and like alot of people it took me a couple of days to replace it. In the meantime, I didn't want to get up and change the channel so you would come on and I would lie on the couch and watch.
Well, I am happy to report 1.)I got a job- so I am off the couch and 2.)I changed the battery in the remote and lastly 3.) I am STILL watching you !!
The show is fresh, refreshing and down right cool. Keep up the good work. By the way I am an Oprah fan. The networks are cutting it close!! If both of you were on I would have to keep switching channels.
Hi Ellen ,
When I first started watching your show it , came on at 4:00p.m. here . So I had to rush home to make sure I did not miss it . Sometime I would ask my kids to go by my house to turn on the tape if I had to work over . Then my M.S. was made know to my job . I was forced to go on Medical retirement by my job . By the way you can not caught M.S. from me or anyone who has it .
Anyway the good news is you come on in the morning now . I start my day off with a laugh and a work out . I dance with you and during breaks I do Cardio Salsa . The bad news is you go off the air after just one hour .
Thank you Ellen for that hour , it really gets my day going .
By the way what,s going on with Dallas ( is that the way his name is spelled ?)? I miss him .
One more thing , could you please get the lady sitting on the couch in the kleenx commercail . She is talking about the hurrican in New Orleans . Oh one last thing please tell my Childern to stop calling me during your show . My grandchildern are the only ones who get it . they dance with me .

Hi Ellen, I know how much you love new talent or unusual talent, so on Feb.17,2008,I was watching Extreme Makeover:Home Edition,and the had a family on ther from Louiville, Ky..They were the Hughs family, all talented, but the most talented was the son who was 19 years old, his name was Patrick Henry.This young man was awsome!!He has some terriable disabilities,but he likes to look at them as abilities. I know you are a fan of this show, so if you can Please check him out he is Awsome!!!!!!!!!Thank you so very much,Janice P.S. It's been a while since watching your show. I never have much time to watch t.v. in the mornings when trying to clean house before picking up my daughter from school. But today,
I was feeling a little blue, so I turned on the t.v. and started flipping channels, planning to be sad and lazy all day! I saw your show and you seem to have an uncanny ability to make anyone laugh no matter what is ailing them. I saw the oportunity to actually write to you, so I thought I'd THANK YOU for changing my day! Your better than Prozac!!! Now, I plan to watch your show every morning (I deserve an hour) to get my daily dose!! Ha-Ha!

I love your show it inspires me everyday. The way you change peoples lives is unbeleivable. I was just wondering if maybe I could become part of your show you see my fiance and i have been together for 7 years. High school sweet hearts. We have a beautiful daughter shes 15 months we had set a date to get married on July 26 th but due to all the suprises we found in our new home the we just purchased sept 2007 we can no longer afford it the basement just flooded the roof needs to be fixedetc... theres over 25 thousand dollars of damage. If theres anything you could do to help us it would really be apreciated !!!!

What we had was a beautiful thing and I'm gonna miss you. You see I used to be able to watch you in the morning while the kidlets played but now oh no they realized they have a whole channel dedicated to entertaining children I have lost my ellen war to the Backyardigans, Dora, Diego....nooooo make it stop. I'm not sure if you have ever watched the tree house channel but trust me it would make anyone loose their will to live.lol So the odd time I'm sure I'll be able to sneak you in but until then I'm going to miss what we had you rocked my world.

Ellen you are a mother's hero. I am a teacher, head coach and mother of 4 living in Idaho. And you are a hero to me and my 4 children: Hailey 9, Easton 6, Madison 4, and Allison 2. About three months ago after working a long day, I sat my kids infront of the TV and Said " Don't move" you are all going to watch what ever is on until you start behaving. Little did I know your show would be the show these little rascals would love. I now have to make it home in time for my 4 kids to watch your show. THEY LOVE YOU. I know most kids watch Hannah Montana, Elmo or Barney, but not my kids, it is Ellen they love. Even my 2 year old will sit there eating her snack and laugh. Their favorite time is when you recreate the japan's shows, and of course they all get up and dance with you. I would love to send you a picture of them just so you could see them, they are not sweet little angels they are hell on wheels! thank you for bringing these little angels(kidding) down to earth everyday after a long day of teaching high schoolers and coach a varsity sport.

Hi. I am writing in response to Monique's email above. I, too, am from Canada. I live in Ottawa, Ontario. I have submitted numerous applications for various contests on your show and also submitted emails. However, when it comes to filling in the city and zip I am ok. What is not ok, is the state. There is no way to put a Canadian province on there. So, I use my old state of Missouri. How 'bout that. haha. I put all my Canadian address in and then put my old state in. Gosh, how else am I to do it. I love your show though and always want to make compliments etc. so I just hope they go through that way. I doubt they do though. Do they??? Hummmm..... Well, I'll keep trying. We'll see if this gets through. Ellen, I love you though. You make my time on my treadmill every day just fly right by. Matter of fact, I am having such a good time watching you that I have now started to do a little running on the ole treadmill. Well, you have a great day and keep on keepin' on.

Hi my name is Cayla and I am from Wisconsin. My letter to you is regarding my nephew. My nephew, Devin, was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. Devin’s birthday is November 13, 2008 and he will be 7 years old. Last year, Make A Wish provided Devin a wish to go to Florida and experience his favorite Disney characters at Walt Disney. Devin really enjoyed his time; however, because Devin’s parents were separated when he was 2, Devin only got to enjoy his wish with his mother and stepfather. Devin’s dad was not able to see the smile on Devin’s face when he met Mickey Mouse, or hear Devin’s giggle when he saw Buzz Lightyear, or even see the glow in Devin’s eyes when a limo picked him up to transport them to the airport. My family has wrote Make A Wish and asked them if Devin could get another wish, to enjoy with his dad. Make A Wish said every child only gets one wish, thus Devin already got his. I respect Make A Wish’s decision; however, I am puzzled by the fact that so many children in our society come from the non traditional families, thus many parents are going to be left out. Devin spends just as much time with his dad as Devin’s mom, Devin’s dad has been there Devin’s whole life holding his hand in time of need and happiness, so why can’t Devin’s dad experience a once in a lifetime experience with his son too. Ellen, please help! Devin, his dad, and his future step mom always talk about taking a Disney cruise. I have tried to save my own personal money several times to give this to them as a gift, but due to the horrible economy, I have not been able to provide them with much. It would mean the world to my family, if Devin would be able to experience a wonderful enchanted gateway with his dad, on a Disney cruise. Thank you for your support Ellen.
