Today in Ellen History

On this day in 1965, in spite of tripping on her jump rope, Ellen continues to jump rope and play hopscotch on her front steps.

On this day in 1972, after whacking her thumb in shop class, Ellen continues to finish making her bird house.

On this day in 2007, despite severely injuring her back, Ellen continues to host the show from a hospital bed!

Ever since I caught your show on DSTV where I live in Lagos Nigeria I always try and not to miss it. Your show is relaxing, entertaining and down to earth. You are warm and you have something for everyone. Keep up the good work.

hi there, as i watched this i came to like you more.
i am from the philippines and it makes me happy when i got home from work and just sit and watch one of your clips.
i really wanted to see you or to watch your show.
someday i will be there to watch.

Hi ellen I will be 56years old on aug.06, I am a retired correctional officer. I always enjoyed my job, because I feel that even though the people I worked with was incarcerated. I always like to help those people. talking to them about they situations, Letting them know that to just trust in god. And if they are innocent then justice will prevail. Iadmire the work you do for others just keep up the good work and and it will be well with you. May your life be full of grace and blessed always.

Well..I was helpin a neighbor build a shed and liftin plywood. Compressed 2 disc's in my neck and had surgery 9 weeks ago. All I do is sit home all day..sit on the front porch eatin cherries and then watch Ellen and Dr Phil. I switch back and forth. I wanna get back to work but that wont happen for awhile. I have a plate with 5 screws in my neck. help.

Hola Chica,
Good thing you got over it. I also blame it on the pills. LOL! I had back surgery 2 years ago had 21 staples on my back. Know the pain. Glad you recovered.

hi ellen i m komika ,i m 19,. from india. i love ur show very much. i love the way u entertain peaple. well here in india ur show is broadcasted a month later i mean like the episodes u do in june are aired in july but i still love it. i always make sure that i never miss ur show.
u know whats the best thing i like in u and ur show is the charity realy i really wish when i'll start earning myself i'llsurely give some part of it for charity.

Ellen,

I can't believe that you were able make it through your show with your back in that much pain. I know how awful back pain can be, and how much it can interferes with your everyday activities. I have had back problems since September 2006 and recently(5/12/08) had surgery for fusion of my lower back. Recovery is long, painful, and emotional. It has affected my entire family. I'm glad your up and doing better. I'll keep watching during my recovery...your show helps keep me happy.

I don't know about these computer thingys but after pushing a lot of buttons, I found this comment box.

I was actually hoping to find a way to get you to send a little note or signed photo for my favourite 5th grader(Up here in Canada we call it "grade five"). Her name is Maricris Tamayo, she is English-first but her schooling in our other official language (French) and she is doing a biography project on YOU.

Not to be pushy or anything, but I just found out that it's due in a few days and thought you might be able to help her out.It would be a real surprise and treat if you come through for her.
