Put Your Wallets Back in Your Pockets!

Don't get me wrong, I love Crate & Barrel! They have a lot of great stuff. It's just that I made a joke that Portia and I were registered at Crate & Barrel and people took me seriously. We are not registered at Crate & Barrel. So please save your money! It's the thought that counts anyway, so thank you for all your wonderful thoughts!

Dear Ellen,
I did not register at that place for yor present, but I thought this would be better.
I want to wish you and Portia the same great LOVE that I have for my husband. Duane and I met as children in a little town in PA. We don't know when we fell in love.But here were are still together (34 years this June 16). We married in August of 1983 and I know that in June you are allowed to marry. How wonderful!!! This year is our 25th wedding anniversary and I would marry him again if he asked me tomorrow. My wish also is to hear that you and Portia are still together and still have the same love in 34 years. Can't wait to see your wedding pictures and to see the rings. Lots of love to you two. Linda

According to the books on ettique you are supposed to tell the groom congratulations and the bride felliciations. I don't know why and I would have to look up felliciations to be sure of the difference. So, like all the others wishing the two of you a life of happiness and love - Congratulations!

I know that you don't want wedding gifts, but have you thought of the charity "thing" like you did for your birthday. Provide choices from yours and Portia's favorite charities.

Hi Ellen, You are such a doll! If there is anyone kinder than you, I am just not sure it could be possible, unless it is Portia. She looks like a little girl in a candy shop when she looks at you. You are great, and it's nice to hear that people took you seriously about the Crate and Barrell. Your kindness brings out the best in other people, too!

Congrats to you and Portia! May you both continue to find bliss in your love together as you move on to the joys and challenges of married life. I'm so happy that you have found the ONE. You and Portia are a lovely couple and a great inspiration to our community.

My partner and I also live in California and we have been waiting for this day for years! While we are registered domestic partners, this designation somehow lacks the depth of committment that we feel marriage portrays. We are celebrating 7 years together in July and I am looking forward to having a ceremony as soon as possible. We didn't anticipate this monumental event happening in California this year so we currently have nothing planned!

great move !!! I have done the trip a couple times, one unfortunatly had to die, the other of 15 years we just fell apart, but gladly are still best of friends. My current one of 10 years is great and surprised me with my sister from ohio and all our closest friends!! what a great day. I know you two will share many more years together and I wish you both all the best. Bravo!!! foy all your honesty and support for our comminity. keep up all your great work Bobby and kenny in florida at last!!

Congrats! We applaud you for being so bold and normal and not being ashamed to declare your love to Portia on TV. Thank you for all you do to bring recognition to the gay communities.

Tammy and I have been together for 8 years. We are married in our hearts even if Texas will only allow us to have a Holy Union Certificate.

Congratulations, it feels my heart with joy to find people deeply inlove commited enough to marriage. I am sure your life will change a bit being married but I hope you the best from the bottom of my heart. You should come up here to Canada to get married but of course it's always up to you. Congrats Hellen, This is awesome news. Don't ya get tired of those people quoting the bible? People, they're the worst. Besides, there must be a gazillion bibles out there cuz I've never heard of most of them. I think I could write my own bible so I could quote myself. This is from Mary, Chapter 10, vs 8. Congratulations Ellen and Portia! This news is just awesome. I am so happy for the both of you. You make people laugh each and everyday. My sister and I were lucky to attend one of your shows last year before I moved to Arizona and you made my sister and I laugh. It was actually the first time we were able to have a day just the two of us. Thank you. Blessings to the both of you.
