Mother's Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers out there! We only give you one day a year. It should really be the opposite. We should celebrate you every day. Except for one day, so you don’t get a big head. Where would we be without mothers? We wouldn’t be anywhere because no one would be born. Even mothers wouldn’t be here because their mothers wouldn’t be here. And their mothers and their mothers... it would just be a world filled with sea horses.

One day a year, we give our moms flowers and a card to show we understand how much they do for us, but most of the time we take them for granted. Being a mom is a lot of sacrifice and pain from the get-go. The moment you enter the world, you cause her pain. Agony, really. I have trouble getting my i-Pod earphones out of my ears… I can’t even imagine childbirth. You come out screaming and crying. Then you’re crawling around and putting things in your mouth. Then you learn the word, “NO.” And you become rebellious. Soon you’re hanging out with wrong crowd and start smoking Pall Malls. You hop on the rail cars and live the life of the hobo... then I turned 15. OH MAMA! I’M SORRY YOUR BABY’S SO BAD, MAMA!

Moms put up with so much. And all they do is love you unconditionally. They’re always there for you. And they love you for who you are. Even if they do wish you’d wear a dress once in a while.

Hey Ellen, I was just wondering about getting tickets for my very best friend in the world for your Mother's Day Show. She is finally pregnant with her first child after trying for 5 years. She has endometriosis, with 3 surgeries, and was told she would have a slim chance of ever having a child. Please let her be apart of your fun and exciting Mothers day Show!

Hi Ellen, My name is Kristin. My husband and I are expecting our first child in October and I would love to be on your Mothers Day show. I watch your show everyday and find you the most amazing person.I would love to meet you and be able to say "Hi". I hope I can get to be on the show but I'f I do not, I will defenitily be watching!!!!! Yours truly, Kristin&John Calbury Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

Dancing, when all else goes wrong DANCE! My husband says that I don't have any rythm but my 4 year old and 3 year old quadruplets don't seem to mind!

I would be crazy (even crazier than I am now) to think that on Mother's Day that they would all magically quit fussing for the day so I plan on putting on funky music (even if it is funky kids music) and dancing.

Thank you for adding that part to your show everyday! It's a pick me up that everybody needs!

Hi Ellen! I LOVE your show. Thank you for having a show that makes me smile all the way through the show. Not many shows on TV these days do that for someone, so thank you!

The reason for my note is to tell you about my friend, Maria Bailey. She is also my boss and the best boss anyone could ask for. My note is about Mothers Day. Maria has written 3 previous books mostly about Marketing to Moms which she is the expert. Her latest book is titled The Ultimate Mom.

What I really wanted to tell you about is the event she and her company are hosting accross the country "National Moms Nite Out". With Maria, it's all about Moms! I think she would be a wonderful guest on your show near Mothers Day.

Please visit her website www.mariabailey.com to learn about Maria and visit www.momsniteout.com to read all about this great event!

Thank you!

Hi Ellen: We are expecting our first child. The best thing about it is that my parents have been waiting so long for thier first grandchild. They are 60 years old. They don't know that she's expecting but we will be giving my mom a picture of the baby for her birthday. I know that she is going to be excited and probably going to cry.
Anyways, my wife will be 4 months pregant during mothers day. I hope you can pick my wife as one of the pregnant mothers during your mother's day show. My wife is the best. She takes care of me. We watch your show religiously during dinner. We will be so honored if you pick her. We live in San Luis Obispo, CA just 3 hours away from the Studio. Thank you, Chris

Ellen, I just recently lost my wonderful mother in January 2009 to the terrible disease ALZHEIMERS. My mother was my best friend as so is my daughter. My daughter is a mother of 4 kids, she is 31 years old and we watch your show all the time. I am not looking forward to spending Mothers day at home this year for it will be the first time in my life without Mom. So if you have any extra tickets for your Mothers Day week please let me know and I will bring my daughter out to the show. We just need somewhere to go that will be FUN. LOVE LOVE your show and hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you for your time,
Vickie

I will love to be part of your show for mother’s days this year please let me if it is possible. Thank you.

Ellen please contact me about mothers day. I promise you, you will be very interested in meeting my mom. I'm begging for your help and no I'm not asking you for any cash. My mother raised 7 brothers and sisters until she was 11. She personally carried her dying brother to the red cross and he died of malnutrition in her arms. She's always given, She's had alot of pain in her life, my sister died 3 yrs ago, my nephew 3yrs and 2 1/2 weeks later. Trust me I have alot of stories I could tell you. Please give me the opportunity. I know you would love her and would be able to help her have a good mothers day.

I'm expecting and every time I sit down to watch your show, my belly starts dancing. It's insane! I told all my friends and family and they don't believe it so my husband actually taped it with our video camera. My son isn't even born yet and he's already a huge fan, like his mom and dad (yes, my husband loves you too).

Thanks for being there for us and keeping my belly active. :)

Does anyone know what date they are taping the Mother's Day show? I want to try to get tickets, but I don't want to try and possibly get them if I can't make it! Please email me at adcutbirth@yahoo.com if you know what date I would need to be out there! I have to fly out! Thank you so much!

Jessie H, Nichole and Amanda - when did you guys submit your apps? And how long did it take to hear back? I sent my application in Wednesday night 3/18 and still have not heard back -- I'm sooo worried and nervous I want to be on the show more than anything. I feel like it's college admissions time all over again.

I'm a first time mom and have been waiting all year for the "Mother's Day Show" post. Congrats to you 3 -- hope I get to join you!!

ELLEN!!! I CANNOT wait to see you in May for the Mother's Day Show!!! I was completely STOKED to find out that I had gotten tickets!! We just recently moved back down from WA where my husband was stationed on an aircraft carrier with the Navy. Now we're in his shore rotation, but are finally back home in Sourthern Cali. Times are hard with the economy, but we're doing the best we can right now.

Now to important things, who to bring since with me in May since my husband isn't a first-time mother. HAHAHA!

See ya soon, Ellen-Pooh!!!

Hello Ellen,

I am one of your biggest fans, if not the biggest. I have seen just about all of your shows, even the one at Stony Brook, where I went as an undergraduate. I have to say that I would be the happiest person alive to attend one of your shows, but my request today is not for me. My boyfriend's sister is four months pregnant with her first child. She has been extremely supportive of, and has helped us both, my boyfriend and I, in so many ways. She not only aided us spiritually, but when my boyfriend and I both lost our jobs, she opened her heart and the door to her home to us. There is no way we can ever repay her for all that she has done, but if you could find it in your heart to give her a ticket to your Mother's Day show, that would be the greatest present we could ever give her.

I thank you very much.

How did you girls/ladies get tickets to the show? My wife and I found last night that we're expecting another child, and right now we have a 5 month old! So, this child will be born only 1 yr & 3 weeks later than our first kid! I would love to surprise my wife with tickets to the show. She is the best mom I've ever seen and will be so wonderful with our next kid. She is so stressed out about everything already because she's worried about giving both kids the attention/love they deserve. She loves Ellen and Tivo's it everyday.. Any help to learn how to get my wife on the show would be great!

Email me at e.derek4@gmail.com with any info. I would LOVE to give this to my wife!

Thanks,
Derek

Hi Ellen,
I got a call last night and I’m so pleased that we get to be on your mother’s day show. I'm so excited! My husband and I watch your show all the time. We are expecting our first baby and just moved to San Diego. We were very surprised to find out that we were having a baby because we didn't think that we could. Unfortunately, my husband has been unemployed since September so the timing of my pregnancy couldn’t be worse. It has been hard to get excited about being pregnant when you don’t have insurance and very limited income so I spend most of my time worrying instead. I just wanted to say that being invited to be on your show has given us something to look forward to. Thank you so much! Your show is great fun and always makes us laugh!

I started watching your show when I was pregnant with my first baby and am now addicted. I am due with my second baby in June and would love to be at the Mother's Day show!! I took a break from college and graduate May 9th and also work at a veterinary Clinic in Boulder Colorado while taking care of our 2 year old. I would love a day to relax and celebrate being a mom who no longer has to study! ;)

Hi Ellen!

I REALLY hope you're doing your Mother's Day show again this year! I planned my pregnancy around it and am going to be a 1st time mom in September. Please e-mail me - I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to come to the show!
