Mother's Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers out there! We only give you one day a year. It should really be the opposite. We should celebrate you every day. Except for one day, so you don’t get a big head. Where would we be without mothers? We wouldn’t be anywhere because no one would be born. Even mothers wouldn’t be here because their mothers wouldn’t be here. And their mothers and their mothers... it would just be a world filled with sea horses.

One day a year, we give our moms flowers and a card to show we understand how much they do for us, but most of the time we take them for granted. Being a mom is a lot of sacrifice and pain from the get-go. The moment you enter the world, you cause her pain. Agony, really. I have trouble getting my i-Pod earphones out of my ears… I can’t even imagine childbirth. You come out screaming and crying. Then you’re crawling around and putting things in your mouth. Then you learn the word, “NO.” And you become rebellious. Soon you’re hanging out with wrong crowd and start smoking Pall Malls. You hop on the rail cars and live the life of the hobo... then I turned 15. OH MAMA! I’M SORRY YOUR BABY’S SO BAD, MAMA!

Moms put up with so much. And all they do is love you unconditionally. They’re always there for you. And they love you for who you are. Even if they do wish you’d wear a dress once in a while.

Hi, Ellen. Where to start. I adore your show. Me and my little new addition to my family, Hayden, watch your show every morning and afternoon when its on. As a new young mom, it is overwhelming sometimes, but while watching your show, I am able to unwind and let loose. Hayden loves watching your show with me, even though she doesnt talk, walk, or crawl. She sits and smiles at the tv when she sees you. Watching your show gives me confidence, in my self. I love how watching your show can turn a frown down to a frown up. I really mean that. You are amazing. Take Care xoxo

Hi Ellen,
I was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma. On March 30th, 2011, I had surgery to remove the roof of my mouth where the tumor was found.
I am looking at 7 weeks of daily radiation treatments starting after I heal from the surgery. I have been told the radiation treatments will be very painful and take a lot out of me physically.
I am grateful for a support system that is second to none. My wonderful husband, my children, grandchildren and friends have been amazing. Along with the grace of God and some awesome doctors and I know I will be around for years to come.
My husband and I would love to come to southern California and see your Mother's Day Show before my treatment starts.
Please let me know how we might get tickets.
Thank you!
Mary

Hi Ellen

Love makes the world go around and you share so much of your love and laughter with us. I bond with my children by watching your show together after school every day!

I actually had tickets once to fly to California to see your show. I even had a boxes of chocolates made right here in Utah to give you and your staff. As I drove to catch my early flight to Long Beach something inside of me didn't feel right about leaving my little girl in care of others as she wasn't feeling 100%. So my husband said he would do whatever I wanted. So we turned the car around and headed home even though I was soooo excited to finally see you! As it turned out mother's intuition was right and I was thankful to have postponed the trip. I even got sick too! So even though I couldn't see you in person we got to watch you on t.v.!

Sure hoping to make that trip to meet you finally with two of my 5 amazing children! Would be the best Mother's Day ever!!!!!!

Who you are makes a difference and my children and I love you for making a difference in our lives!

Ellen,

I have been trying to see your show live for quite some time and won't give up tell I do, but not a lone! I am a single parent and have been Blessed with Chantill the best daughter in the whole wide world. I also have been Blessed with a Fabulous lady in my life her name is Cammille Duncan, she was my very first Solar Client, when we met she was going thru some pretty tough times with her husbands illness and I use to do whatever I could to make her smile...ie, host a mothers day party for her and John's birthday, I gave her a day of rest to enjoy her friends. Well, now I am going thru some very tough times and serious issues and she just opened her door to me and her arms, I really don't know what I do without my 72 year young lady friend. I would so love to be able to take my daughter Chantill and Cammille Duncan to your show so we can build more memories together...it would so make my day to make both of their day with your show! It would allow me to pay it forward again for the two of them. Thanks so very much! Dena P.S. Cammille has a cook book called Cammille Cooks and let me tell you, I am so excited to eat dinner when she cooks!!! I am sure she will bring a book for you!

Dear Ellen,

My name is Sandra Beljan and I have to tell you a story about my mom and I. My moms name is Sladjana and she is 38 years old, and I am 17 years old; we live in fort worth tx. Up until recently we haven't hardly been getting along, we would fight constantly and just really be at each others throats. I never really valued my mom or tried to have the true mother daughter relationship. On March 7th, 2011 i gave birth to my still born son. I was only about 17 weeks pregnant when my doctor and nurse told us that he had passed away. We went into the hospital on the 6th and I checked in to be induced, through out all the time I was in the hospital my mom was beside me being the wonderful mom that she is and making sure that I'm happy and comfortable. It wasn't until I had to give birth to my still born son that I realized how special moms were and how much they truly cared about their kids. Ever since the day that we found out the horrible news my mom and I have been closer then ever. We spend more time together and we love to just sit and talk about things. Not a day passes by that I don't miss my son terribly but I know that as long as I have my mom along side me I can get through anything. I was hoping that for mothers day I can surprise her with tickets to go see your show, so that I can show her how much I love and value her and that no matter what happens in life that I hope we will always stay close. I'm hoping that you can help me show my mom how much I really care, we would love to see your show live but we just don't have the money to do so. Please if you can get us to your show. Two tickets is all we need for me to give her the best Mothers Day EVER!

-Sandra Beljan

Hi Ellen,
My Fiance is 5 months pregnant with our first child and has been trying to get tickets to your expecting mothers mothers day show and has not been sucessful. It would mean the world to her if I could get tickets for her and her cousin who is 4 months pregnant. Money is very tight for us trying to get married and move out so it would be big for me too. Thank you for reading my comment.

Ellen!!! I am a huge fan!!! I have been trying to email and contact your show for 2 weeks now, trying desperatly to get tickets to your mothers day show. About a month ago, my husband and I found out we are expecting our first child, due in December (I'm 2 months along now). The day of your taping, my husband is scheduled to be deployed with the Canadian Navy, and he really wants to send me to the show. None of our family and very few of our friends even know we are expecting yet, and we've been trying to think of ways to share the announcement. We live in Victoria British Columbia, and all of our family lives in Ontario...

How can Canadians apply to be on your show? I've only found the forms that require a state and zip code, with no options for Canadian fans :(. I am a huge fan, and attending your Mothers Day show taping would be an incredible experience! Please let me know how to get tickets! thank you so much!!!

Ellen, I am going to post again to keep my mother Tuesday fresh on your mind. Mother's Day is only one week away and again, we need to be on that show! Not only because we love you, but we love to dance, we love to guess bald men or a baby game, we love to laugh, we love to watch you walk over the table, we love California (after a long hard winter, and the warm weather we have been anxiously awaiting, we could use it!). So you see, those are just a few reasons. There are many more, but I don't want my fingers to give out because I do still have more I would like to say. My mom has been pretty down lately, as has our whole family watching my grandparents who have always been so strong begin to decline, this is just what she needs. I know there are so many people who want to meet you, for good reason, but I just know that if you meet my mother it will be well worth your while. We are such a fun-filled group who is trying to find the fun back into our lives. Give us that chance to find some fun on your show! Love you Ellen!

HI ELLEN! I would love to get a ticket to your mothers day show. I'm a first time mom due on HALLOWEEN! Both my finacee and I are in school so money is very tight. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I would be honored to be on your show.

So now that I am sure many of us are feeling (and personally looking) like the sumo suits we see on your show it seems appropriate that it's almost Mothers Day. I have to say I feel so grateful to have a mother and mother in law that are a huge part of my life and are going to be grandmothers for the first time in August. They have really helped me out the past couple months since I was recently laid off and have really kept my spirits up. I would love to surprise them with tickets to the show to show my appreciation.
I also think the baby will love it since he kicks uncontrollably when we watch your show together. =)

Hi Ellen, I love your show. I work during the day, so thanks to DVR I never have to miss a show. My son & his girlfriend are looking forward to the arrival of their TWIN BOYS this fall. I would love to surprise my future daught-in-law with tickets to your Mother's Day Show. They will be having double the expenses and could really benefit from the help, since my son has been laid off, and is still looking for work. We are so blessed and excited to welcome our 1st grandchildren. So please consider inviting Mariam to your special show.
Thank you,
Ruth

Hi Ellen,
I was watching your show today and heard that you are having a Mother's Day show. I wanted to tell you about the most wonderful new mommy in the world, my daughter Kari. Long story short, she and her husband, James, wanted to adopt a child Internationally to give a child a better life here in America. They traveled to Kazakhstan to pick up the little girl that they were promised. When they arrived, they met this beautiful little 3 1/2 year old, only to find that she has cerebral palsy. (She was born at 26 weeks, under 2 pounds and lived in the orphanage all of her life...no one from her family ever visited her.) Most people would have said "No thank you," but not them. They worked with her, while their paper work was being processed and taught her how to walk and write and recognize letters. After 4 1/2 months of red tape, they had to come home without her. The officials told them that the law says that she had to be offered to local families first. (The reason she hadn't been shown was because she had severe special needs.) So they came home heart broken, but determined to go back to Kazakhstan if no local families wanted her. They were home for about 6 months and when no one chose her, they went back to get her. They were required to start the whole process over and it took another 3 months to officially adopt her. They all arrived home on April 15 and they are now a beautiful family. They adore her and have years of speech and occupational therapy ahead of them. Through this process, they lost their condo and are now renting an apartment. They feel totally blessed to have Ava in their lives and are a very happy family. I just wanted to share the wonderful hearts of these two people who truly have made a difference in the life of a disabled child who came from around the world.

Hey Ellen!
I just watched the Heidi Klum show where you mentioned the mother's day show and I am excited from head to toe at the thoughts of being part of that show. I'm 7 months pregnant with my first baby who took us 3 years to get here. It was a long, emotional journey, but after a long fight my husband and I finally are going to have a little girl. Although I would have rather not gone through the struggle to get pregnant, it makes me all the more grateful everyday for this chance. I only hope if I dream it hard enough and put it out there for the universe to behold, I will make it to your show. It's already a miracle that I'm pregnant, so to have a dream come true like being on your show on mother's day couldn't be too far away. Love you!

Hi Ellen, My family watches your show everyday and just love it. We're now expecting our first baby and every time I watch your show my baby just starts kicking up a storm. I've always wanted to come to your show but never have had the chance as we're from Canada and it makes it very hard to get to you. I would love love love to come to your mothers day show as I know spending my first ever mothers day in the company of youand your crew would be something pretty amazing to share with my baby to be. Anyway keep up the great work and keeping me smiling. Your just amazing and we all love you.

Hi Ellen..
Well I've never done anything like this so here I go... My daughter moved to Arizona with her hubby due to his job.. they bought a home there and of course he was "Laid Off" the next month ! Meanwhile she was also laid off so she found another job but no "benefits". He then took on 2 jobs working 60 hrs a week but again no benefits.. and somehow in the short time he's home she became pregnant! So.. their in Arizona Im in San Diego.. they cant sell their home because the price has dropped so much and their paying cash for all Dr appts etc.. They both drive old cars and her car has no Air Conditioning which isnt good with summer coming ! I'm helping as much as I can but I recently went thru a divorce after our home burned to the ground in the Cedar Fire here in San Diego a few years ago.. When the house burned we lost everything including her baby crib etc that I had kept for "Grandchildren"..
Jenn's been tnru SO much but maintains her faith and her smile.
She was almost shot at the Granite Hills High School shooting here in El Cajon in 2001 in her Senior Year.. she went thru our divorce.. the house burning down with all we owned... and now their in Arizona and are "stuck".. so something FUN and HAPPY would be SUCH a wonderful thing !!! If we could possibly attend I'll get her over here ! She's due July 10th and needs EVERYTHING!
Thank you SO much for considering us ! I know we sound like a bad Soap Opera.. but we keep bouncing back.. Many Thanks for your consideration Julie Speidel
