Mother's Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers out there! We only give you one day a year. It should really be the opposite. We should celebrate you every day. Except for one day, so you don’t get a big head. Where would we be without mothers? We wouldn’t be anywhere because no one would be born. Even mothers wouldn’t be here because their mothers wouldn’t be here. And their mothers and their mothers... it would just be a world filled with sea horses.

One day a year, we give our moms flowers and a card to show we understand how much they do for us, but most of the time we take them for granted. Being a mom is a lot of sacrifice and pain from the get-go. The moment you enter the world, you cause her pain. Agony, really. I have trouble getting my i-Pod earphones out of my ears… I can’t even imagine childbirth. You come out screaming and crying. Then you’re crawling around and putting things in your mouth. Then you learn the word, “NO.” And you become rebellious. Soon you’re hanging out with wrong crowd and start smoking Pall Malls. You hop on the rail cars and live the life of the hobo... then I turned 15. OH MAMA! I’M SORRY YOUR BABY’S SO BAD, MAMA!

Moms put up with so much. And all they do is love you unconditionally. They’re always there for you. And they love you for who you are. Even if they do wish you’d wear a dress once in a while.

Ellen!

First off,I love your show! I always get a huge laugh out of your games with the audience. :)

I am having my husband and I's first child in June of 2010 and would love to be able to come to your Mothers Day show! If I could get the info on the taping so that I can prepare to get those tickets, I would appreciate it! Thanks and keep being a great person and host!

Jenn

I would love to attend the taping of your Mother's Day show, but I am due the end of February. When do you tape the Mother's Day show?

Ellen,

I am expecting my first child in June 2010 and would love to be a part of your Mother's Day show to help me get ready and teach me about some great products. Also, my husband and I could definitely use the help! Please let me know how I go about getting on tickets.

Thanks!

hi ellen
I would love to buy some CD's of the funky music your DJ plays for your dance segment with the audience each day, is there anywhere I can buy some? If not why dont you think about making some?
xxbev

Hi Ellen,
I enjoy watching your show.I am a new mom to be in July. I love you show I think that it is great!! I would love to win some prizes..

Thanks
Kim

I wonder if celebs actually read these comments. Perhaps there is a person that reads it for them. A paid comment-reader? Possibly. I also wonder how many celebs pay attention to the little people? It seems like there are much more important things for people, like Miss DeGeneres, to be doing. hmmm... Oh well.

If this is read, then I think you should have a slideshow from Failblog.org on the show.

Hahaha. How come there is only one day to truly appreciate a mother? If I had a mom, if I got adopted by a family, my life would be awsome! You really don't know what you have untill you lose it. Pshh, but you also can't lose something you've never had. :p BE GRATEFULL YO!! :]

OMG ELLENNNNN I LOVE YOU GIRLLLLL!
i watch you like everyday. and then dont get my homework done. so im like AH. but theres always mommy whose like do your homework and tivo up some ellen. and im like...my goodness, this woman is remarkably genius. and she pretty much is. like furrealz.
except she sings terribly, and can't hear anything. i have to repeat everything like twenty times. ive suggested picking up sign language, but she just replied that she already bought string cheese. you see my dilemma.
so heres the sitch. my woman of birth is a single mom driving up to nashville to pick up my older sister from college on HER BIRTHDAY aka MOTHERS DAY. SO THE HOUSE IS ALL TO MYSELFFF WOOHHH. just kidding...psychhh. but really, onto the serious stuff. i just can't have that nice lady driving up that long way all by herself! so im thinkin, you call her on the phone and just go crazy. cuz i mean, since the woman has the hearing of an eighty year old, she just sits and front of the tv and watches you..like a lil puppy dog. but if youre yelling at her through the phone shes bound to hear you. so ya. she loves you, i love you. youre our homegirl skillet ellie! LUHHH YOUUUUU
aaaaahhhhhhhh or a great mommahs day gift would be for you to come to orlando!!!!!! ohhh yeah man. thats it. you know what?? im done talking. you just do your thing girl, do your thing.

Hi Ellen, I know my mom would greatly appreciate anything even just to mention her name she would be grateful, Thank you once again

Hi Ellen, I am going on vacation on mothers day my mom will be at my home with my teenage kids, it would be wonderful to see her win some of your gifts you give away, she has 6 children, 11 grandchildren and one grand baby, she raised all of us alone, she just lost her lover of 31 years and now lives alone. I try and keep her busy she is 75 years old and still can mow the lawn, she would love to win something, I feel bad I won't be here for her on mothers day, she is also hearing impaired, Thanx for listening, hopefully we can get her something to reward her for raising all of her children by herself, she deserves it Thank you Kim

My MOM:
I thought all my life that I was the favorite. I had that special connection to her. We discovered with great joy and some surprise that although we each knew our Mom did not love one more that the other, we each felt loved the most. She had a great capacity to love. She never judged us or condemned us for our mistakes, she just loved us. She was always willing to put our needs ahead of her own. Mother had a God given gift of humor, and could find humor in almost every situation. She laughed often at herself but never at others. We laughed because we could shave our head and still be beautiful in her eyes.
Our Mother passed away Thursday morning February 9, with dad alone by her side, we all agreed it was just as it should have been. They were married 53 years. They built a family together. They laughed, cried, and struggled together and they loved each other deeply. When her life ended with dad alone by her side...it was just as it was meant to be.
I still pick up the phone to call Mom. I miss her everyday.

I'm not sure when the deadline was for your mothers day show. I read in an above comment that it's past. I'm really hoping there is just one extra space for me? I'm 22, just graduated with my Bachelors and am expecting my first child November 3rd. I've been wanting to attend one of your shows for years now and thought if I was pregnant during your mothers day taping I could try to get on that one. And this year, I am! Since it's first time mom's this is my only chance for this particular opportunity. I really hope I can still get in. I LOVE your show!

Whitney Raybould

just wondering how I go about sending ellen video clips of my super cute, super funny kids!

Hello, I really enjoy your show, I have been laid up and have been able to watch. I know your show for mothers day is for new mothers, and that is really nice, I just wanted to tell you about my mother- there are six children in our family. my mom has always been there for us , she is very strong in her faith. my father has past on. but this year was hard for my mom, one brother had heart trouble and was in the hospital, then my oldest brother, had kidney cancer and had to have his kidney out, then I was diagnoised with kidney cancer and had my kidney out and now I have colon cancer and have to have more surgery, but through it all my mom has been so strong, and I know how hard it has to be for her. we live in Pa. but my oldest brother lives in Seattle, the other in N.C.
just a very special mom, she is so strong and just keeps praying for all of us. thanks

Dear Ellen,
I just missed the deadline for your mothers day show, and was disappointed..then realized it was first time moms only. I am a mother of 4..almost 5, and would have really loved to be on your show, I have seen alot of your shows, and I love the mothers day shows especially. And you just make these new moms feel so special. I always cry doing these shows. When you have just one child, all the attention is drawn away from you..no matter what. After 4 kids, almost 5!! I get very litle attention. Even on mothers day, My family is poor, and the kids are still young. My oldest is 14, and he tries really hard to do what he can.Which is why I think your show is awesome. I wished I had made the deadline, I would have loved to have felt special for just one day. Thanks for reading.
Melissa

Dear Ellen,

I am currently pregnant with my first child, and I am very interested in attending your mother's day show! I will be due in August......it would be nice to do something fun for a day instead of feeling like a whale! Please let me know how I can obtain tickets......Thanks!

hi Ellen, i was wondering if there were any tickets available for your mother's day show this year. i just found out that i am pregnant with my second child and my due date is the day before christmas. i was really hoping to be a part of your show and all the great baby items you give away to your audience. with my new baby coming so close to christmas it would be a great help to get some of those needed baby items out of the way. we live on a tight budget and i am trying to save enough money so my 2 year old son is not feeling left out on christmas this year. i would love to be a part of your show! i will even come alone if there is even ONE ticket available.
PLEASE let me know.
Thank You,
Cheryl

Hi Ellen,

I catch your show everyday...and was just thinking oh shoot, it's almost time for Ellen's mother's day show! I wonder when it is and if I can go. I'm due beginning of June and I'm already off of work. It's really stressful where I work...cuz I'm a Neonatal ICU nurse at Loma Linda Medical center...and it's a difficult place to be when you are expecting yourself because100 percent of the babies you care for are so sick that it's hard to believe healthy ones are born...so I just want to relax now and have a good time the remaining of my pregnancy as much as I can...and hope that I can get tix to the show.

Love you dearly,
Michelle

Ellen, I am a big fan of you and your show. After watching your first mother's day show two years ago I have always hoped that I would have a chance to experience being on the show. I am lucky to be pregnant with my first baby due on Christmas day. My awesome husband and I are so excited and are happy to have something to look forward to after a long hard year with my husband loosing his job and miscarrying once before. I ready to celebrate with a new start and would love to be on your show to celebrate with you and all the other first time pregnant moms. Thanks for always being so bright and happy.

Hope to see you soon,
Krista
