Totally forgot - the DORK DANCING. If you haven't watched the funny group numbers the AI contestants have to do on results night and been treated to the FUNKY dancing that Jason does, you are in for a treat. You must have Jason dance with you - for the love of all that is decent and holy - since we won't get to see it for the next two weeks! The world is a little better in it with some dork dancing.

Ellen,
I can't wait to see Jason on your show; with the warmth you show guests it should be a smashing interview. He has such a special quality about him (not special like "short-bus special," but truly unique and geniune). No matter how much crap was spewed at him, he handled it with grace and dignity - but kept right on smiling. I'm an almost-40 year old mom who can't wait to purchase any cd Jason puts out, and think his style reaches a tremendous amount of people. Right on Jason - best of luck to you!

I love Jason. His voice and his looks are awesome. He is so real and honest and funny and sweet! His voice soothes my soul and his eyes well there is another story altogether! I am 39-not a teen! And he does for me what he does for all other Jason fans! Love him up!!!! Can't wait for Monday to see him on your show-I know its gonna be good!

I'm 17 going on 18 and FAR from a "teeny bopper" for Jason Castro. Of course he is gorgeous but I appreciate his music and his love for music more than anything else. He was not used to the great amounts of stress that this show calls for, and I can't blame him for that. He is true, real, raw talent and he should have no regrets. I voted my rear end off for him each and every night for the full two hours and I have to say, it was heartbreaking to see him leave. But I just know that he will be amazing no matter what and that everything that has happened, has happened for a reason. I will forever and ever support Jason Castro because talent like that doesn't come around everyday. He is truly something special and he is going to win people over with his powerful music, just as he won me over with "Daydream."

With that said, Ellen, HUGE FAN HERE! Love your show. Can't wait to watch. Good luck with everything and God Bless!

Jason Castro is great! He was the best AI contestant ever, so different and an artist as opposed to just another karaoke wannabe. The producers of the show will have to wipe their tears when Jason sells more records than anyone this season because their dislike of Jason was so obvious, it was despicable. I love that Jason threw one last jab at them with his final song of "I Shot the Sheriff." Yea, Jas, they tried to find you guilty but you came out amazing and with the most refreshing attitude of any AI contestant in the past. Colombians rule!

Jason seems like a genuinely beautiful person inside and out. He has handled the pressures of Idol with such class and grace and never seemed to lose himself in the process. I'm thankful for the opportunity to hear his unique voice; my Castro Compilation is one of my fave Cds.
PS I was thinkin "Bob Marley," too!

Laura (age 44)

Someone recently asked me why I was a fan of Jason's and accused me of only caring about his (undeniable) good looks. My response was this: "It is his sweet, humble spirit, and his grace under scrutiny. I also happen to think he is talented, his voice is really soothing and he doesn't have to belt out the words to get the meaning and emotion of the song across. I have every single one of his songs on my iPod, and the more I listen, the more I appreciate it." I actually went on and on, but this was the gist of it. He's a funny, sweet guy and I think you two will hit it off. Thanks for having him on, I can't wait to watch.

Jason is so talented and had the right attitude about the show. He is so unique and never fails to make me smile. With his gorgeous voice and laid back personality, he will go far! Please let him sing one of his original songs on the show, and you need to have Jason call Gladys!

It's ripples again! Call Gladys. I love your conversations with her. She LOVES LOVES LOVES Jason and so do I!

Jason is the only one I bothered watching this season and now that he's left, I'm done watching the show. He is real and unique and a true raw talent. He sings with his heart and soul and has touched so many of us with his talent and personality and amazing insights into life. If we could all emulate his way of thinking, the world would be a better place, it would. LOVE YOU JASON!!!

Dear Ellen,

Whatthe? Did I miss seeing Jason on your show? I am really going to miss hearing him on Idol. He has so much talent, not to mention his pleasant personality. I looked forward to watching Idol when he was on the show. Jason is a Superstar right now!! I can't wait until his CD comes out. My mom who is a young 85 yr. old also loved hearing him. We will definately miss him on the show.

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Jason Castro at our house!!! He is such a true pure loving soul and it shows in his music. We downloaded every one of his songs on itunes and will buy all of his music when he releases his album. We didn't download any other music from AI either. Can't wait to see his interview... and by the way - we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Ellen too! :)

Jason, I am only 14 but I want you to know that I love you. My friends call me a stalker because everytime I talk to someone, I start a conversation about you. (But trust me, I am not a stalker) Every binder that I have has your name written on it with a heart around it. I have bought every song and every video and cannot wait until you come out with your own album. All I want to say is that I am truly in love with you and your voice.

Love, Sarah S.
(p.s. jessie v. loves you too)

Jason is the GRANDEST IDOL OF THEM ALL! I loved him from the time he sang Daydream and followed every show just to see him! He is unique, original, has charisma, very talented and best of all he is himself throughout it all. I wish him all the best in his musical pursuits and can't wait ( I'm mean actually can't wait) to have his cd in my hand. Love you Jason!!!!! And I'm old enough to be his mom.

Ellen,

Jason is the future of music. He is real and talented beyond belief. There are so many great things this boy has done i can't even begin to name them all. He is a believer in Christ and is not afraid to show it! I love that he will not change qho he is for no one and i respect him. I look up to him and i will be supporting him 100%. I honestly can't believe how much this kid has changed my life and brought me joy over the past months. I wish i had his personality and i am so proud of him!

Ellen,

I am so glad your having Jason Castro on your show. I have only casually watched American Idol before but once I saw this amazing kid with dreadlocks get up and sing Daydream I was hooked. I am a 44 year old mother of two and i found myself voting like a madwoman every Tues. night (crazy and so out of character for me) but this kid is so special. He has a beautiful voice and the unique gift of emotionally connecting with people. He is a wonderful role model for our youth today. I hope he continues shining his light for many years to come!

Dear Ellen, I am old enough to be Jason's mom, but have followed him from the moment I heard him sing Daydream. Please be sure and listen to Jason's Studio Versions of the songs he performed on American Evil, er, Idol. Listen to Memory (which he sang while sick). Listen to Hallelujah, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and Fragile. If you do that, you will laugh in the face of people who say he is not talented. His voice is pure, his emotions raw, and it doesn't hurt that he is one of the most beautiful men on the planet. I hope you will treat him gently. He deserves the respect and consideration he didn't get on AI. Thanks!

Hi Ellen,

I have not watched a single episode of American Idol since it's Season two (it all sort of went down-hill after that) but I was channel surfing the other day and I just happened to chance upon Jason singing 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow'. I love Isreal's version of the song but I felt Jason did it only about a hundred times better. From then on, I've been watching every single episode of American Idol. :)

Personally, while I do love Jason, I have to admit that he isn't the strongest, vocally, in the competition. However, strong&powerful vocals need not necessary equals to a good singer (agree?). When some of the contestants sing, I found myself thinking "that's not bad, great song". However, when Jason sings, he touches the audiences' (or maybe just mine!) heart and not just their ears!

I feel that he's a special boy and I hope that he'll do well in whatever he wants to do in life, whether its to be a singer or not.

PS: Ellen, I would love to meet him. Could you fix us up? He He He....

loved watchin him this season until this week .. he really dissappointed me this week & i think for whatever reason .. he wanted out of the competition .. maybe to go experiment with some more "brain killing" activities .. what was with him wednesday night ??!!

Ellen,

I am a 60 year old woman (social worker) not a teeny bopper. I have two grown daughters. I loved watching and listening to Jason Castro. I have never watched AI before because I thought it was too mean spirited. I happen to see a You tube video of Jason singing "Over the Rainbow" and I wanted to see more. I started watching AI. I loved to watch Jason and felt that they should have let him choose more of the music he loves. I know that I would love whatever he chooses. Jason is a genuine person. His face was amazing to watch. He let his deepest emotions out. He is honest and sincere. I even went on I-tunes for the first time ever and purchased his music. I also bought the music of Israel Kamakawiwo'Ole because Jason introduced me and millions of others to this man and his amazing music. Jason's voice and music gives me hope. I will buy whatever he produces. He is like the troubadour of old who used to raise our spirits and make us think and do deeper works in this life. Please have him on your show. I love this young man and his music. I wish him the best!
