I read an interview in which David Cook seams to think he was flying under the radar early on in the American Idol competition. Pffft. He was number one when there were still 24!! Can't wait for the CD! Congratulations David Cook.

Hi Ellen! I am from way up in Canada and I watch your show as often as I can cause you have the coolest people on your show.
I absolutely love David Cook! He became my favorite once he got into the top 24 and from then on I've been a huge fan. I love everything about him....he actually reminds me of my high school sweetheart, he was also a rocker inside and out. I was just curious to know if you know if he's single or not?? Haha it would TOTALLY make my day if he was!!

I am in LOVE with this man!! He has a sense of humor I never really saw coming, and over the last few weeks he has blown me away! I am so happy that he won, he completely deserves it, and will go soooo far with his career. I am so glad he was on Ellen!
Sarah, I am with you...Jason Castro was my first AI love this season, but this guy won me with his version of Always be my Baby. He has just proven time and time again that he is amazingly talented and there is no doubt he has won over everyone who has heard him belt one out.
I'm on the younger side of things here, and it's funny to see everyone talking about how cute he is!! I have always thought so too, and I have grown to love that face!!

I love this song and enjoyed Cook's rendition, I am very happy he picked this song for the final, as it has a lot of deep meaning and It was great to see him connect with the public that way! I am a David A fan, I'm a 47 y/old mom and think he has a God given talent and was born to sing. Ellen,you don't have to have him on your show since it really doesn't make a difference on whether or not he will have a great career. I love your show Ellen but have made a conscious decission to stop watching it, as have many people I know, you showed very poor ethics and proffesionalism when you, not only allowed, but encouraged Simon Cowell to put David A down and try to ridicule him on the day of their last performances on AI.
There was no need to do that as I, among others respected your taste in favoring Cook, a lesson perhaps for you Ellen, in how to be atrue professional...Simon started his rantings on Leno as well, but Mr Leno gracefully and tactfully opted to change the subject and that a lot of respect from me..too bad Ellen, you did not know when to stop crossing the line, oohh that imaginary famous line that we should all live by...I surely hope that David A does not go on your show, as it would only prove how far your hypocritical social protocols will take you to win viewers!David A is above that, and I'm sorry to see you, Ellen, showing your true colors...

I have never in my life written a fan letter or in this case fan blog (the 21st century has officially arrived) -- but then again I feel an undeniable necessity to at least put my thought out there in the ether -- or to the powers that be, I suppose.

David Cook has an indescrible quality and there is this presence about him that seems so truthful and...pure.

I never watched American Idol until I passed it by chance back in March and after seeing him perform I was blown away. There is a way about him that surpasses his obvious talent as a musician and performer but it is an "extra something" factor that deems him a person I hope (who knows, right?) I one day have the opportunity to just simply sit down and have a long cup of coffee with.

A young 20-something word nerd and musician myself -- David, if you ever get this, congratulations on a graceful and truly inspiring win. Travel the world and stay true (as I have no doubt you will) to the place you came from. This is the opportunity of a life time.
