Ellen I saw the show today with the very misinformed and disgusting representative's comments. People like that just anger me and I want to shake them until they realize that the world is full of diversity and no one really cares for their bigotry. I'm from New York, and if my governor can resign because of a prostitution ring, than this horrible woman should be forced to step down as well.
Speaking of "voting processes" there is a poll on whether rep Sally Kern should resign. cast your vote if you would. Even if you're not an Oklahoman, we are a nation, and your opinion matters. Thank you Ellen.

Ellen, I wrote you last night in such concern for the way I was being represented by Rep. Sally Kern. Seeing your video-of-the-day with you AND Wanda Sykes speaking on the subject was SO uplifting. It is with tear-filled sincerity that I thank you for your words and your time to talk about something that has been weighing so heavy on my heart. As an Oklahoman, it is tough, because these people DO still exsist, polls on the local news channels sites show that more people support her for what she said than oppose her. These people not only exsist Ellen, but they are all I know. While many people laughed at the wonderfully clever and too-true statements on the issue...I am now starting to cry a cry that has been waiting decades to be let out, I am not alone. Hey Ellen, love the show and Wanda is great, just like always! But I just wanted to say that as a proud Oklahoma myself I appalled by Rep. Kern's comments. I agree that she does have her rights to freedom of speech, but I do not believe that her hate words should be tollerated. I do not agree with her and I do not understand why she would say such things, espically since her son is gay. Anyone who would go as far as to say that a homosexual is more of a threat to our nation than a terrosist obviously has no clue what they're talking about. I can assure you that when re-election time comes around she will not be getting my vote! Thank you for addressing this issue and allowing the world to see things from a different light.

And yes, I've read the book of Romans as well as most of the Bible. I've also read the Koran, The Bhagavid Gita, am reading the Book of Morman as well as a number of other religious works. I take them all with a grain of salt as they were all written by fallible men. And Ms. Kerns certainly has her right to freedom of speech, yet as a public figure must be held accountable to her words.

Because of Wanda Sykes, Monster-In-Law is and always will be one of my favorite movies. Yeah, Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda were good in the movie but Wanda stole the show! She is one funny lady. She rocks!
Sure there is freedom of speech but words are powerful and should not encourage hate and prejudice. There is no place for politicians to practically support hate crimes more than a war on terrorism. She does NOT represent Oklahoma. Not all Oklahomans think like her and I'm embarrassed by her comments. She can say whatever she wants but I can vote how I want and she will not hold office again in my state.
Wanda on falling during snowboarding--hilarious! I will be roller skating at my daughter's 16th b-day party next month, and I too have waited 'till my hip bones are brittle and fragile. Ha! My blinkers will probably get knocked out too. Sally Kerns--not so hilarious. She needs to crawl back under her rock and stay there. (Unless the sun shines on her and she is fortunate enough to see the light of day!!) Keep rockin' Ellen!

I just posted my comment and was mistaken about Sally Kerns, she is not a Congresswoman she is a State Representative. The reason I know this is I turned to another channel to here your show over again and heard you say State Representative KERN. I GUESS I WAS SOO CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS, I FORGOT ABOUT HER TITLE!

loved your report on that Oklahoma politician weirdo who is still allowed to stay in office even after publicly voicing such hate crimes.
Discrimination is ingrained in US politics and all over the world, no question about it. What's sadder though is that our government supports such hate crimes by opting to keep such inept control freaks in power to cause more harm through their hate crimes, how shameful...
I agree with Wanda ...let's bring our troops back and invade West Hollywood ...may be closeted soldiers can just blend in and find conform ...let's help them 'do tell' and come out... Ah! what a wonderful life!

I just watched your wonderful show and needed to make a comment to you about Congresswoman Sally Kerns. You need not be worried about comments made by her because she just forgot that everyone was put on this earth, in my opinion, to be careing , respectful and giving to everyone so that we can all live peacefully on earth and then in heaven. One of my high school teachers wrote in my year book to me , To Thine ownself be true! Apparently she forgot how to be "YOU".
You are so wonderful, careing, funny, and have such a beautiful heart that no matter what people throw at you, please, just always be yourself! Please know that you are a positive example to a lot of people who watch you .

Oh, My comment to Sally Kerns is what my mom use to tell me, when I was young, If you can't say anything good about someone then just say nothing at all! I works, Ellen believe me it works!

I am a proud Oklahoman and want to let you know that the opinions and statements by Sally Kerns do not, by any stretch of the imagination, represent the opinion of us Oklahomans. We are all appalled by the ridiculous and prejudice remarks by one of our "supposed leaders." Please know that the state of Oklahoma is not a state that endorses these kind of remarks. We just know that she will come up for re-election some day and I would be willing to bet she won't have a fighting chance. Just know Ellen, the very large majority of Oklahomans, are on your side. We love you and your show! Keep dancing!!!

I am a third generation "Okie" and have two more generations after me. I cannot tell you how embarrased I am of the picture Sally Kern has painted of we proud Oklahoman's. She makes us look like "ignerant" (as my grandmother would say), uneducated, misinformed, back-woods idiots. This is so far from the truth. I am not homosexual. and don't really feel that it is any of my business what some else does in the privacy of their home. I'm sure she wouldn't approve of some of the things I've done in my home. It seems as though Ms. Kern has homosexuals confused with pedifiles. Her husband is the minister of a local Baptist church which is very conservative. Unfortunately she is my Representative but I certainly don't want anyone to think that she is representing me in this issue. She is WRONG!
