Your Thoughts... And You Do Have Them.

While shopping the other day at a local market with my grandchildren, Gracie and Tyler, a lady stopped us and commented that the children I had with me were as cute as a bug’s ear. I smiled and said thank you and continued my shopping. After a moment I paused and looked at my grandchildren (who are very cute) and thought to myself, was this a compliment? Why not cute as a fuzzy kitten or cute as a puppy? I don’t think bugs are cute, let alone their ears. Do they even have ears? I think she used a poor choice of words. I try to choose my words more carefully. Ellen, I think you are as cute as a button! Wait a minute. What the heck does that mean? What’s so cute about buttons? Rewind. Ellen, you are as cute as a baby bunny hopping through a field of fresh spring grass. Better? I hope so. Happy spring to you!

Hi From New Hampshire!
Hi Ellen, love your show...brings a smile to my face every single morning.
Speaking of grandchildren...My grandson brought some chocolate chip cookies in while we were playing a game and I ate 4! I said "Gavyn, I can't believe I ate all those cookies"! Does Nana look like a fat cow now? And he replied "No Nana, you look like a skinny cow". He is 6 years old. They say the cutest things.
Thanks for making my day...everyday.
Trisha

Hello from England!

Hi Ellen,
I've just had my first baby and after a very complicated birth followed by surgery and my little boy being unwell (everything is fine now) I left the hospital feeling very low. Then I discovered your show (we get it about six weeks behind here!) and you really made me laugh again.
Love the show, keep up the good work!
Mia and baby George

Hello Ellen , I love your show ,

There is a woman who's in desperate need of eye brown waxing. Check out the woman giving the tour at the Polygamist compound in Texas on CNN 4/16/08. Ellen look at that UNI-BROW and not to mention that hair style, I mean what century do they live in ?

Dear Ellen,
The "cute as a bugs ear" thread was adorable. I have watched your show since day 1 and I don't remember hearing any monologue like it. I love your show and appreciate hearing from your blog readers.
Thanks a million,
Cathleen

Didn't you already do a monologue saying almost the exact same thing? I remember you saying this before. I think it was last season.

Ellen,
Thank you for sharing the very special message from your autistic friend to her mother on today's show. What you shared was very moving. I would love to know more about your friend. I have a family member who is not autistic, but does have special needs.
Thanks. Katie

Hello Ellen,

I simply love your show. I often wonder in the world of talk show, how can you continuously produce a different kind of talk show, but you do it. It is so innovative and funny.

I just completed my first gay novel, INtrospection, soon to release to book stores worldwide, and seeking support from our communities. You can visit myspace.com/travonwms and see a little more to come of INtrospection

Ellen,
Im going to be completely honest with you and say I really enjoyed you in Finding Nemo, that was some spectacular work!!!!! But I am writing this letter because my sister, Melanie has to be you biggest fan. She faithfully watches your show and once she heard you were coming to Chicago she called me and demanded I find a way to get her tickets. She really is a great big sister and she spends her days and nights catering to 6 children, 4 of which were premature. She has done so much for me throughout my life I would love to pay her back and I think this would be a great start. I've been online answering questions and I see tickets are sold out for those dates so please Ellen Please Ellen can we come to the show while you're here? Pretty Please with sugar on top?

Dear Ellen,
You who make me laugh everyday have really let me down. I planned a trip to LA to visit with my son and his fiance. I immediately went to your website to see if I could get a ticket to come see your show and see you in person. Notice I said aaa...ticket. I kept checking every day for when they posted that tickets would be avaiable for the two days I would be able to attend your show. The first day the date of April 28 tickets became available I filled out everything to get a ticket. I prayed so hard that I would hear from your people but here I sit, very sad that it did not happen. Please be funnier than usual to cheer me up please

Hello Ellen, I just want you to know that you're show is beyond fabulous! I love it and watch it every chance I get :) My 11 1/2 month old daughter dances to the songs that are played at the beginning of every show, she loves you too! Someday, I would love to be a part of your audience, you should come to Colorado!

Ellen,
My roommate is currently going to college studying for her nursing degree ( even though I believe she missed her true calling as a comedian)
She is so funny and real you would not believe the amount of calls she gets on a regular basis from fellow students that tell her "without you standing beside me, helping me study, or making me laugh I would have dropped out of this program 1st semester" and as I hear each of these phone calls I think WOW. how good do you feel? and I tell her so. and her responce is always the same "I'm not anything special I'm just trying to help out where I can, If I fail... bummer but if I help another pass then its all worth it." Ellen I know that my friend is constantly with her nose in the books but I also know that on her study breaks she watches your show and laughs saying I like Ellen she is REAL people! I don't know what you can do but if you could send her an e-mail telling her Hi I know she would just love that.

Thanks for taking the time to read this as I know you get tons of letters. She is a great gal and I know she would appreciate an e-mail from you

Thanks in advance,
Your Fan....

Frog, thank you for making laugh so much before I fall asleep. I tried to bring the icecream to you, but it melted, or was it me who ate it all? Kermit, go and sleep, because a lot of people need well polstered furnitures tomorrow and give kisses on the noses of your dogs with warm greetings from Berlin. You are such a nice person, your girl loves your sense of humour, that´s for sure. By the way, good luck for your Feyenoord for their next soccer game.

Hi Ellen,

Here are my thoughts...related to your trip to Chi-town!

Your agenda is as follows:

1. Come to my house - I live in Lincoln Park.

2. We'll go up one block to Sweet Mandy B's. I love, love, love this place! I dream about their RED VELVET cupcakes (yes, I said RED VELVET) and iced-molasses cookies. I am absolutely addicted to this institution and feel that it's a MUST while you're here.

3. Next, I know how much you love animals...so, I think we should check out the POOCH HOTEL! I have never been, in fact, I don't have a dog...(two cats), but I have seen people go in and out of this place and think we should check it out and see what it's all about while you're here! It's basically a DOGGIE DAYCARE for the upper class canines. They have a heated canine pool, milk baths, facials (yes, for the dogs!!), pawdicures!, doggy treadmill sessions...okay, it's pretty sickening, but I'm dying to check it out and think you could make it a funny segment while you're here!

4. For lunch, you should check out Hot Dougs! They have amazing hot dogs that are totally different from the norm. Here's what I had last time - Ribeye Steak Sausage with Horseradish-Garlic Cream Sauce, Smoked Cheddar Cheese and Crispy Fried Onions. It was delicious - and I'm sure you could get it without the onions!

Okay, that's just the first half of the day! Let me know if you want me to plan the rest! By the way, my three month old, Palmer, would love to meet you too!

Take care and thanks for the laughs everyday!

Jenny
