Who's That with Ellen?

Answer: David Spade.

His tattoo was personally applied by Sean Penn during an interview for SNL's "Spade in America."

A casting agent saw David’s routine at "The Improv" in Los Angeles and offered him a mischievous role in the film "Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol."

During the last season of "Facts Of Life," David Spade was in an episode that was supposed to be spun-off into a series called "Big Apple Blues" about college roommates living in New York City, but it never happened. According to David, “I was on that show with Richard Grieco. It was a spin-off episode. It spun off a cliff and no one's heard of it since.”

Will pay for my hosptial stay but not for a Dr or PT.

hey Ellen,

I absolutely love you and your show...you have helped me get through the most difficult year of my life...my Mom passed away last May and needless to say I took it very hard and you and your show continually brightened my day when nothing else could....you are a life saver...not the candy, but , well you know what I mean...

My Mom was the most important support for me in my life since finding out I was HIV+ many years ago..as if that wasn't struggle enough..but she was always there for me and made me feel like I was loved and accepted.

Someday soon I would love to see you in person and be in your audience...I live in Toronto, Ontario and would love to visit you....

anyways, thanks for making me laugh and letting me see the brighter side of life...you are the best...

take care,
Steve

Hey Ellen!

Wow! I absolutely love your show! You are the most outgoing chica I have ever seen on TV and that's really good! I watched the episode with the Jonas brothers and Miley Cyrus and her dad. They were really great!

I was just thinking, for those of us who don't have the privilege to go to the Jonas Brother's concerts, can you maybe invite them back to the show later on in the year? it would mean so much to me and to other fans that can't go to their concerts.

Well, I wish you the best of luck! You rock!!

Love, Kathy

I was just wondering if you and the staff would ever consider inviting spouses of deceased stars and/or big stars that are in the back ground now,,I was thinking specifically, of John Candy's wife, John Ritter's wife, Mel Brooks, Gene Wilder,etc..
I do know that many people are big fans, that these people contributed and still do, so much to our society with the craft they love, that they live for, entertainment! I read in a magazine article that John Candy stated that he did nto feel that he was a great actor or comedian!
I wanted so badly to call or write him and tell him what a gift he had, that he was a natural, that we all waited to see what he would do next so we could go and enjoy his fantastic talent, one of a kind!!
IT is too late to tell him, BUT so many others are still alive and active in this wild, wacky and very difficult fishbowl life called a "star's life".. I think they need to be told by an average citizen, how they influenced and made people's lives better, sight unseen! Don't let the older stars leave us without the "every man's recognition!!
I would be the first in line to tell each of these people what a profound effect they have had on our lives! Just doing what they love, and that includes you!
I hope you have the guts to pursue this, no other talk show host has ever done this, and you are such a SWELL GAL! LOL You just email me and say the word and I will be on the first duck, goose, or plane that is headed out west!!
If not, it owuld be nice if you could somehow be a go-between for those of use that would like to send snail mail to them without invading their home privacy,, Lin C, Bay City, MI

Dear Ellen,
I watch your show as much as I can. I really fell so much better when I have watched and laughed with you and your audiance each day. I really enjoyed your shows leading up to your 50th birthday, as I myself turned 50, I really needed that pick me up as prior to my 50th birthday I lost my mother and my grandmother within a two week period. My mother was fighting a long illness 0f COPD and we were trying desperately to get her home when she became very ill and passed away before we could bring her home she had been in and out of acute care facilities for many months and we almost lost her numerous times. I lost my job of 10 years due to having to be off so much to be with her during this time. I was also dealing with a son whom was battling a severe drug addiction. He is on the road to recovery praise God. Will during all this mom passed away and two weeks to the day her mother who also was struggling with illness was diagnosis with cancer after she had been admitted to nursing home for rehabilatation, I believe between this illness and the lose of her daughter she just was ready to go home to God and thank the Lord she did not suffer long. But despite all this I find a little joy in watching your show and laughing with you. I know you can relate to my lose as I see how close you are with your mother and that gives me great joy. God Bless you Ellen, please keep making the world smile and I hope and pray for your continued success.

Sincerely,
A Huge Fan
Teri Murphy
