What's 30 Times 800?


It's Ellen's 800th show! It's the 800th time Ellen has stood backstage before her show started. The 800th last-minute check to see if her hairpiece is in place. The 800th time she's discovered a "Kick Me" sign on her back and pulled it off at the last minute. The 800th time Ellen has practiced her "She sells sea shells by the sea shore" enunciation warm-ups. The 800th chugged gin and tonic, the 800th peek to see if she knows anyone in the audience. The 800th quick cry, then laugh, then cry. The 800th time she's wiped the barbecue sauce off her hands with the curtain. It's the 800th time someone has whispered, "Ms. Degeneres, there's only... 30 seconds to air."

Happy 800th to you Ellen and to all that help you make doing what you do a reality. Everybody.

I want to add that I too wish you and Portia were married. I think you should be!

800 just isn't enough....you are so entertaining that we won't be happy until you are on your 800,000th show!!!! and we won't miss an episode!

Ellen, You had a very good 800th show. I have to say that I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! You are the best part of my day. The funniest thing to me about your 800th show was the look on Nicollette Sheridan's face when you got the silly string (or whatever that was) (HAHA) in her mouth. And then right afterwards the look on your face when she got it in your mouth. THAT WAS SO FUNNY. I was laughing so hard that I peed in my pants. My 5 year old daughter asked me "Mommy,why are your pants wet like a little baby's". I said "Because Ellen is so funny". She actually said to me "Yeah, she's funny, but you don't see me wetting my pants. It was very imbarassing. I love you anyways and I loved your 800th show and will watch the next 800.

Oh Ellen...

I miss watching you. I've just recently switched careers and now my mornings are spent with work :( I always looked forward to waking up and watching your show. Your show airs at 11am, which in all reality was the worst time bc it was a time where I really should have started my day..but instead I continued to lay in bed and laugh alone which is sometimes awkward lol

But I would not start my day until your show was over. You made me laugh, cry and you inspired me everyday. For a long time I would think that my life was really bad, that everything just kept falling apart and that it would never be good. No matter how bad my day was, you so easily made me forget and also making me realize that I have absolutely nothing to complain about when there are so many other things happening in the world and to undeserving people as well.

Thank you Ellen for making me want to get out of bed :)
