Hi Ellen,
I am the mom of two very active boys. We live in the beautiful area of Midcoast Maine. Maine is going through a crisis right now. Maine has so many obese children and adults, it's scary. I wanted to request that you donate the Neos to our local elementary school to help keep these kids active.
I can't tell you how disturbing it is to see children walking (or shuffling is more like it)along everywhere with these handheld video games, staring down at a tiny screen. They seem to be getting lazier by the minute with noone doing anything about it.
The elementary school here has been going through many changes, and we need help to get these kids moving in a positive, and active way.
We are trying to get our elementary children all under the same roof. We now have three campuses just for these 5 grades. Kindergarten needs to be combined with the Middle School, first and second is in an old school (which needs to be torn down) and the third and fourth graders are currently in the building that the town hopes to renovate by September 2009.
The Neos game would be a great addition to the newly renovated school, and would help the kids to feel special and excited about their new school.
My hope is that positive changes such as the donation of this heart-pumping game would also promote other fitness-related improvements.
Thank you for your consideration!
Sally
Ellen, we love your show! I would love to win the Neos game for all the military families. All the children, and adults in our community can play and get a lot of enjoyment out of this. We are at Fort Bragg, NC and there are a lot of troops deployed, including good friends of ours. This game could bring us all together and get our minds off of our missed loved ones. We can always use a great game like the Neos. It would be a great honor to all of Fort Bragg to have this.
Thank you and God Bless!
Hi Ellen,
My name is Bryson. I like to watch your show with my Mom and little sister. I am 6 years old and in kindergarten at El Descanso Elementary School. I wanted to tell you how cool that Neos game is! The school I go to has pre-school through 5th grade, and is full of kids that would think it is cool too!! I know, because I told everyone in my class about it at school today. I told them that my Mom was going to help me send you an email after school, so that maybe we could try to win it for our school! It would be awesome to be able to have the NEOS at El Descanso, because we don't have anything like that .. where we can play a game that has you run around!! That would be so good for us all to be active and have fun!!
Please think of us when you are ready to "Pay It Forward". Thank you.
Also maybe someday I could meet you in person. That would be cool.
Your Friend, Bryson
Hi Ellen;
My son attended the first of its kind Weight loss High School in the country. It is now called the Wellsprings Academy and it is located at the Base of the Sierra Mountains in California.
The kids live at the school and learn nutrition, diet and mental wellness, along with there everyday high school studies. There daily schedule encourages physical activity all through the day, rain or shine. I think your Neo machine would be a fantastic addition to there recreation room. So far they have videos that are interactive, air hockey, and pool, but could you imagine how much fun these teens would have with the Neo Machine, and the benefits it can give? Give it a thought!
Hey Ellen,
When I heard you were going to give away the Neos
Game I was so excited. We run a pub and restaurant in Grande Prairie Alberta. Every Friday we run a "Happy Hour Game Show". We have made many games for our show....such as,
"Drinko", "Chuck", and "Tickle the Kitty" (I'm sure you can just imagine what this one is!) The Neos game would be such a fabulous addition to
our game show.
I know we are not a hard luck case....but we would have such a good time with Neos. You should actually witness our Happy Hour antics
to fully understand why I am requesting the game.
Our patrons are given happy hour tickets, and join us on stage if their number is called. Our game show host ( a Bob Barker of sorts!!!)
explains the game they are to play. We give away many prizes from gift certificates to
shirts and hats, to cans of Saurkraut.
Thanks for your consideration Ellen. Hope to hear
from you soon!!
Ellen,
I Nominate Allied Services in Scranton, PA. Allied is a great Therapy and Rehabilitation Center and one building is geared towards children with disabilities. My son attends speech therapy and as I wait for him in the parents waiting room I see these other children that are there for physical and occupational therapy, most on a daily basis.
I think the NEOS would be a welcome addition for these children as a Fun way to break up their physical therapy. As the game plays these children would be able to work on their standing, walking, reaching and some on the stretching of their muscles as they get weak in certain disability circumstances and their hand eye coordination. I can just see these children having a blast and looking forward to therapy more and more. So I hope you Pick Allied to receive the NEOS and put smiles on these kids faces.
Thank You
Hi Ellen. I got home from work yesterday and saw your show with the neos machine. My son is 6 years old and goes to Clinton Christian Academy in Missouri. Our school started in the fall of 2000 and started in the local church, the school strives on strong academics and focuses on shaping the child in all areas. We have moved into a building at the edge of town and are striving to grow and expand as they currently have grades k4 - 8th. This year was our first year of starting a athletic program and we have a small soccer team and basket ball team but no gymnasiam at the school. I would like to see the school grow as would alot of parents and I feel the neos machine would be a great thing to assist in the physical education part of the school. The school is financed by tutions and fundrasiers as it is not state funded. Please consider our school as this would be a way to help them grow.
Ellen!
First of all I sing your praises for coming up with the great idea to give away this fabulous game system. You, and the staff of your show, do a fabulous job of energizing America and giving back to the world community. It's inspiring and encouraging to see so much love and happiness being projected and promoted each day.
In regards to my nomination for a recipient of the game system, I recommend Waterwood School located in the town of Winnebago, Wisconsin. Waterwood School is operated at Winnebago Mental Health Institute, one of Wisconsin's two, to provide educational and behavioral services for its adolescent and adult clientele as required by Wisconsin State law.
As the name of the facility suggests, these individuals are currently in need of professional medical and mental health services. Often they have been previously diagnosed with various disabilities, disorders, or emotional and behavioral problems. Many times these individuals require various forms of treatment and can not successfully be integrated into standard community school programs. It was with this understanding that Waterwood School was created.
At Waterwood School, the program centralizes around the concept that all individuals, despite their physical, mental, emotional or behavioral condition, are created equal and should be afforded the dignity, courtesy, and respect that such equality infers. The teaching staff works diligently to provide their students with a sense of normality(as much as is possible) while still providing the mental health treatment and behavior modification the students so pressingly require.
The reason why I choose to nominate them as a possible recipient of this award is because I feel that the work the staff does with the children they receive is nothing short of amazing. On a limited state budget and with too often outdated and second hand materials, the staff at Waterwood School take children who have exhausted all other resources, who often have been expelled, and who too often have simply slipped through the cracks and give them a second chance and a new beginning. In short they teach these children that someone somwhere cares.
By providing them with the NEOS game system you will be providing them with a new opportunity to inspire the children, a diversion to help the students forget some of the darkness they face, and an exceptional ray of hope and happiness which could brighten and enlighten the futures of these children.
Thanks for your consideration of this phenomenal and tireless organization.

I had so much fun watching the Neos game in action! I have the perfect home for it - the Kokomo Area Career Center! Students from nine surrounding high schools attend our classes where they learn career skills in 18 different career programs. But whether they are creating food delights in the culinary arts class, designing the future in the pre-engineering courses, editing a music video in the video production class, or learning to weld in the welding program, all of our students need to develop teamwork and social skills. The Neos game would be a great asset that could be shared with all the programs benefitting over a thousand students!
Thanks for considering us!
Hello!!
I teach 1-5 Physical Education at Fred Wild Elementary in Sebring, FL. Our school would love for you to give us the Neos!!! We have free and reduced lunch population of more than 90%. Up until about 6 years ago, we had one of the largest play areas of any elementary school in the district. Due to a cafeteria and parking lot built 6 years ago, we lost 90,000 square feet of play space. Now we only have 8000 square feet. That's a 91% reduction of grassy space that children need. We do not have gyms for elementary schools.
The State of Florida is trying to increase the amount of time that children receive physical education. However, since I only have the students twice a week, much of this time falls on their classroom teachers, who also need to teach reading, writing, and math.
The Neos is an excellent piece of equipment that is wonderful for those with limited time and space. It provides a great agility workout, lower body strength workout, and cardiovascular workout.
There have been many studies that show that exercise grows brain cells, and healthy, active kids make better learners!! The Neos exercises them AND it gives them a brain workout!!
We would NEVER be able to afford a piece of equipment like this, especially with the budget cuts that Florida is facing right now.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE consider Fred Wild Elementary. The Wildcats would appreciate it a ton!!
Thanks!
Richard
Our future depends on today's youth, an increasingly forgotten segment of our society. The term at-risk youth used to bring to mind low- income, minority children only. Unfortuneately, in our current culture of single-parent, broken homes and/or both parents working two jobs to make ends meet...all youth ages 12-18 are "at-risk". Their off-time is spent unsupervised, eating whatever junk they can get their hands on, and learning nothing of a healthy life-style. This is why I'm writing to you today. We run a teen center in College Station for these youth. We strive daily in our mission to get these kids off the couch and offer positive, safe and structured alternatives in their leisure time. When you choose us to win this extraordinary exercise, game system, you are allowing us to provide a multitude of kids with a healthy option. Kids don't just decide to attend a program because they know it's "good" for them, you must "hook" them. This incredible NEOS system is just that, a hook to lure the kids into a healthier today and a brighter future for all.
As a Recreation Director in southern Lancaster County, PA - we are always looking for creative ways to engage children (and adults) in activities that promote movement and fun. And this game has both. We serve over 10,000 residents each year and provide sports, after school programs, and events to the entire community. As a community driven organization, we could use the NEOS game in our own activities, but also lend it out to churches, schools, and other groups in the area that serve the community. Even though our community is only 35,000 in population, I feel that this would be a tremendous asset to the activities we do and the people we serve. And hey -it would be a whole lot of fun too!!! I am sure whoever gets the NEOS will put it to good use.

Ellen,
I am a children's therpist in Kentucky who works with kids who have Severe Emotional Behavioral disorders. Many of these kids come from broken homes, have a history of abusive situations, high risk drop out rates, and live in extreme poverty. This year, unfortunately, we have suffered severe cutbacks and are unable to take our kids on their much anticipated field trips from our summer program. Although, many of these kids may be disadvantaged they have enthusastically participated in Dr. Dwyer's Pay It Forward Challenge.
To receive a gift such as the " Neo" would greatly improve their lives and reassure them about the concept of giving, as well as, give them a much needed activity for the summer.
Much thanks for your consideration.

Ellen;
WOW what a show yesterday. I am Physical Education a teacher in an inner city school in Troy, NY and when I saw the Neos you were giving away it was a miracle. My Grant for fighting childhood obesity was denied last week and I was trying to think of another alternative for the students next year. When I saw this I thought what a great program we could institute with this great piece of equipment. I do believe that everything happens for a reason. My students would benefit so much from this, but so will thier families and generations to come. If they learn the importance through exercise and generosity. I hope you will consider School 14 in Troy New York for this great giveaway,
Keep smiling & stay healthy.
Again Thank you

Hi Ellen,I love your show and DVR it every day. Hopefully someday I will be able to see a show live - the closest big city to me is Seattle - please come visit!I was so excited to hear that you will be giving away the NEOS game. I am a child care director of a non-profit organization. I absolutely love my kids. And our teachers are the hardest workers I have ever seen. Improvements to the center are non-stop. For the last 4 weeks my husband and I have been building an office and a wall which will house computers. We don't have the computers yet - we are hoping some of the parents will donate their old ones. We have the "Build it - they will come" attitude.:) However we could move the computers to another area and put the NEOS game there instead. The NEOS game looks like great exercise as well as a lot of fun. Exercise is the key these days. It must be so fun giving stuff away. Have fun deciding who the lucky ducks will be. Hope to see you in Seattle- SOON! Patty in Spokane.
Hey Ellen! Loved the show.....especially the animals. I'd never watched a baby and mother kangaroo interact like that!
When I saw the Neos you were playing with on the show I got a GREAT idea. My husband and I are pastors out in North Carolina. We pastor the only GLBT affirming Christian church in our county. Amazingly, we have a LOT of young people coming to the church. I'd like us to start hosting events for the youth on big " at risk" nights, like prom night, homecoming, new years eve, superbowl, etc. Just safe events where they can gather together, spend time with one another, still celebrate, but be safe from the vices of drugs and alcohol. I was intrigued by watching the Neos be played and thought they would be just perfect for an event like that. I know most of our youth love things like guitar hero and Wii and would probably love that too!
Keep up the great shows!!
Kat
Happy Tuesday Ellen. I was watching your show yesterday during my workout. I dread running and most cardio, just like most of my students. I teach middle school PE at Greencastel-Antrim in PA. When I saw the NEOS being played it was just like the Heavens opened up. I was like "holy crap and giant whack-a-mole."
Next year we are going to full year PE. We will see all of our 750 students every day for the entire year. WOAH, DREAM BIG! This is like every PE teachers dream. The only problem is space for these students. We are currently in the process of turning an equipment room into an extra gym. So far we have a hand-me-down weight machine and some mats. That sounds like fun, huh? The NEOS would look amazing in our extra space. PLEASE send it our way.

Ellen,
My name is Judy Marrs, and I am a professor at the Univeristy of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. One of my students turned in a research project on the Community Cares Project for the Rappahannock Big Brothers/Big Sisters. This project is geared toward mentoring the children in our locality who have incarcerated parent(s). I was very moved by her report and think the NEOS game would be a welcome addition to the positive life style her group is promoting. These children are in great need of positive role models and productive play.
Thank you,
Judy
P.S. I love your show! My day stops at 2 P.M. when you grace the airwaves.
