'Idols on Ellen' -- Carly Smithson Eliminated after a "Superstar" Performance!


Last Wednesday night, the 26-year-old bartender from San Diego, after a spectacular performance the previous night, was voted off "American Idol." Ellen, Carly was not only best of the idol season but best on tour.She is a true performer and deserves a second chance.Hope you can have her back on your show when she makes new CD.She is amazing.Thankyou

Oh my goodness, I have no idea why in the whole world Carly Smithson could get voted off this early in the compitition. I was soooo upset when Ryan annouced that she was gone. I literall cried. I can't watch the show anymore because I know that Carly should still be on it. It's not fair. She has really inspired me. Guess who is getting a tattoo....ME!!! She is awesome and forget about being Irish and a bartender and whatever else people TRY to find of her that they hate. I think that Carly Smithson is pure and she has the best voice EVER!!! CARLY SMITHSON IS MY AMERICAN/IRISH IDOL!!!!

Carly and Michael are both talented singers. CJ, I think you might be one of those redneck, brash Americans who do not go overseas and have a limited view of the world. "Go back to Ireland"? Where do you think you came from? Are you native American by any chance? And what do you mean "Great job America"? You do know that she lasted this long with America's help. You're a racist person and if you get bombed, I'm sure you deserve it.

My hat is totally off to Carly. I'm a singer, and there is no way my voice could pull off what she does! Her performance of "Jesus Christ Superstar" was beyond words of the excellent vocals and performance she gave. Don't worry, Carly, ya got peeps in Winchester, VA who'll back ya any way we can, girl ! We were Carly's biggest fans. We had a party every Tuesday just to watch her perform. We all voted like crazy for the entire two hours. She got robbed. We are done with Idol. Virginia is waiting on Carly's cd.

Carly is the greatest contestant idol has ever seen. i voted every night using 3 phones for the full 2 hours and i was heartbroken when she left. I'm sure she will make an excellent album that will be a huge success because of her exposure on american idol and new fanbase here in the U.S. and connections to Europe. I'm hoping to see carly on the american idol tour when it makes a stop at Tacoma WA. I love carly's voice and style which reminds me of amy lee of evanescence(which is currently my favorite band but will probably be bumped into 2nd after carly puts out her awesome album). LOVE YOU CARLY,YOUR THE GREATEST!!!!!!!

Oh come on now...Carly was one of the worst Idols besides Michael Johns. All they could do was scream not sing. True talent?? You've got to be kidding. Carly couldn't hit a high note if you paid her. One range singer..screamer!
America knows talent, we've voted for many Idols that have been great! GREAT JOB AMERICA!!

I cannot believe either that Carly is gone from AI, she is the most talented of the group. For whatever reason people did not vote she is still a true talent. I wish the best for her. She has a beautiful voice and I believe she will record a great CD. Good luck Carly I am rooting for you. I will surely buy your record.

Please let Carly know that her voice has an appeal that reminds me of Cher. Her low tones sound just like "Way of Love" that Cher sang. I think she has to find herself more so that she can find a unique niche in music history (like Mariah Carey, who she spoke of admiringly on Ellens broadcast today). The way she uses her intense eyes to unline certain lyrics was genuine. Basically I am a fan. E - you make me smile when you dance - l

Carly was top 2 and she more than got robbed. I really don't understand how people can vote her off and keep the two on that stayed. I wish carly well, and when she puts out an album i'll be the first out buyin it.
