I Don't Want to Burst Your Balloon, But...


I just read that there’s a helium shortage. They’ve cut back production overseas. That’s where we get the crude helium. And then we refine it and put it in balloon animals. You think it’s not a big deal unless you’re a clown or a car dealer, or you own a balloon store, or you’re a blimp pilot. I know there are blimp pilots reading this right now, exclaiming, “Finally, someone’s talking about it.” My point is, please conserve your helium!

I was never a big fan of balloons. If you’re giving them or getting them, at some point you have to drive with them and that’s dangerous. Especially if you just turned age 1. A 1-year-old driving with a balloon is scary. I mean, if there’s one balloon it's dangerous. If you’re 45, they’re all packed in there. If you’re 1 or 2, they’re floating around and coming at you. It’s like setting a parrot free in your car. And if you make it to the party with the balloons, you’re still not safe. There’s nothing safe about lit candles next to a balloon filled with helium. “Go ahead honey blow out the candles. I’ll be waiting in the next room.”

Ellen, you might think that I am weird but I am afraid of balloons. This is what I call the effects of the saying 'what goes around comes around'. When I was younger, around 6 or 7(I am 15 now, turning 16 in July 2009)I adore balloons. I love them! And my second elder brother was really afraid of the sound popping balloons. Being naughty, I purposely blew up lots of balloons and popped them with a needle just to scare him. Now, he is not afraid of balloons anymore and instead, I am terrified of them. Don't do bad, it comes back at you. Funny, but it is the truth.

yeah.. I don't get balloons either. I don't remember getting crazy about them. I do remember blowing contest to see who can blow up a balloon the fastest and the biggest! Remember water balloons!!!! THOSE WERE FUN!!!!!

Non water balloons.. BORING!!!

I did like blue balloons.

its slowly coming back to me... baloons.

clowns still scare me. I don't know why? the hair the shoes.. the make up??? I don't know.

Popping baloons was FUN!!!! I like the sound.. I also like to just sit and pop bubble wrap!!!! U?

it is hard raising 5 grand kids with what the states give you. And you go in debt when you didn't have help. Now we are trying to buy a house and can't because of our credit. Is there any help out there for us. If there is can you help me. Thanks Cindy M

OH..I simply adore balloons!! I am all excited..Oh, what a moment to slap my thighs with glee..how orgasmic is that!! ha ha. Give me a balloon anyday and I will sail the seven seas, climb every mountain and dance with a goat!!
