I Don't Know If It's Art, But I Like It

Today I am having a gorgeous Asian spinach and steak salad with an Asian crab cake for lunch. Whenever I eat food like this, which has been prepared so artistically, I feel guilty about wrecking the design by eating it. It's like taking a bite out of a flower arrangement... and those days are over for me. I'm still trying to get the taste of daffodils out of my mouth. When I'm served food like this, that looks so nice, I try to swallow it carefully so it will still look good in my stomach. I know it works because every time I get an X-ray, the doctor always tells me how nice my lunch still looks. I'm surprised that there aren't any lunches hanging in any museums. Although, I have seen many paintings that look like lunch stains on your shirt. I heard that Leonardo da Vinci made beautiful grilled cheese sandwiches. As a matter of fact, he painted The Last Lunch several hours before he painted The Last Supper. And of course, sadly, we all know he died before finishing his greatest work of all, The Last Midnight Snack. You know, all this making up history has left me famished. I'm gonna eat... carefully.

Enjoy your lunch.

Ellen

French bread is good too and so is Garlic.

I love garlic...

I'm hungry now!!!!

One bite at a time Ellen!!! What's that game where you pull and try not to wreck the tower.. make it fall... so one piece at a time carefully to not disturb the layers of artistic creation!

Dear Ellen, I am personel support worker. I work with the physicaly disabled and love my job. But at times it saddens me when I see how these wonderful spirited people are left to fend for themselfs. Someone ask me the other day if I had one wish what would it be. The answere was, if i could, i would give all of my consumers one thing they would need to make their lifes a little easier. They ask for so little, but yet are some of the happiest folks I have ever met.Every day i look forward to going to work, because they make my life worth living for.All of my consumers are in wheelchairs, and most of them live on a fixed income. How great would it be if we could get them all new wheelchairs. The ones they have now are very old and broken, outlike there spirit. I Love and cherish these folk and worry about there safety and comfort.I work with a bunch of extremly caring women who work very hard to make our ten consumers feel like they are loved and cared for.If it's not too much to ask Ellen I would love to do something for them. A little something to let them know how wonderful they all are.Thank you Ellen for all that you do, you are one of Gods little angles.Hoping to hear from you soon. Sinceryly Brenda McLaughlin

What vitamins/pills are you taking with your lunches? I see them in many of the photos, but I haven't seen a comment about them. Also, do you always drink a coke or is it diet coke? I loved your Orlando shows - especially the Flo Rida song and the facials. I like it when your guests come out and dance too.

Boy! Oh! Boy! What at scrumptious lunch you are planning to have today :-) I painted an apple and then I ate it for my lunch today...not the painting of the apple, of course... but the apple I used as the prop for my apple work of art. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if there was an artist that painted his/her last lunch, followed by his/her last supper and ended with his/her last midnight snack...I just don't want to be that artist so I will stick to painting apples and socks and sneakers...Oh My!!

Thanks for sharing...I always enjoy your creative and witty writing style. It’s smart and funny.

Love,

Hi Ellen! I saw that awesome lunch you had for today and it looks great! I just hope that the crab cake didn't use crab from Canada! I am boycotting all Canadian seafood to help do my part to stop the seal hunt!
Why boycott Canadian seafood?
Seal hunting is an off-season activity conducted by fishers from Canada's East Coast. They earn a small fraction of their incomes from sealing—primarily from the sale of seal pelts to European fashion markets. But the vast majority of the sealers' incomes are from commercial fisheries. Canadian seafood exports to the United States contribute $2.5 billion annually to the Canadian economy—dwarfing the few million dollars provided by the seal hunt. The connection between the commercial fishing industry and the seal hunt in Canada gives consumers all over the world the power to end this cruel and brutal slaughter. visit hsus.org
