Hello Ellen,

Jason here from Dallas,Texas.
25 years and counting as a big fan of George Michael. As an artist, I, really can appreciate the artistry of George Michael. I now have goose bumps and fellings of faint, after hearing his voice on your show. Cannot wait to see him in concert on July 13th. When the Gay community in DALLAS, found out about him and Kenny buying a house in Dallas, it made our large gay community feel of importance. Bye the way you, and your show have really opened alot of minds and hearts.

Hi Ellen - I am a big fan of your show and I was so excited to see that George Michael clip on the net..

I first became a fan of his in 1985 when I got my first boom box for Christmas. I've been dancing to his music ever since.

Back in Jan I was having a rough time with my health, work, home life etc. I got so down and went to a dark place that I attempted to end my life. Thank goodness for GM's music. It's lifted my spirits. I now have FAITH things have/will turn out ok.

Last week when 25 was released I rushed to Best Buy to get the cd and dvd for my collection.I havent stopped playing them. What wonderful memories they bring back.

I would so love to see his concert. To meet him would be a dream come true. To thank him for helping me get this new lease on life would mean even more.

Hi Ellen,
It's me again, the nurse from Alabama who volunteered to take care of you for free if you ever got sick, you know with a cold or the flu, something mild like that. I wrote to you when the George Michael tour was just a rumour, I wrote to you when the tour was announced, and I wrote to you after you talked to Mr. Michael on the phone. Oh, how I wish I had been in your audience that day, I would have loved to have won a ticket. I entered the contest, I hope to win, but if I don't will you tell Mr. Michael something for me. I have been a fan for many, many years. A pleasant memory for me is when he sang "Careless Whispher" with Smokey Robinson on the Motown Special. He looked so young, innocent and just a little bit nervous, but his performance was wonderful and he was absolutely charming. A few years ago, I suffered a loss, someone very important to me, and I became quite depressed, one of those depressions that lasts for years,, even when you don't know you're depressed. Anyway, i'm not going to be cheesey and say that his music brought me out of my depression, but it did give me a new focus. My daughter was so pleased that she bought the Live 25 CD for me at Christmas, it had not yet been released here so she bought it as an import. And you know what Ellen, one day when I was at home alone, I put in the CD entitled, For Living, the one with the uptempo music, and I danced. Yes, Ellen, I danced in the living room. I'm not a young person and my knees aren't that great but I danced, and it was a good feeling. Please, if you talk to Mr. Michael, tell him that he has made a big difference in my life, and I thank him from the bottom of my heart.

What is GM devotion? Well, in my junior yearbook (in 1993), several students were asked the following question: "If you were stranded on a desert island, what would you take with you?" My response - that you can find in my HS yearbook - "My stereo, CD, and George Michael memorabilia." Memorabilia wasn't simply a few albums, I had T-Shirts, calendars, posters, keychains... that year on his birthday, I actually bought an ice cream cake for him and brought it into work to share with my co-workers. I have every album he's ever released, and several albums that he hasn't... such as his MTV unplugged performance and another live concert from the early 90s (disk was titled "Praying for Faith"). I had a copy of the 25 LIVE album well before its release in the US, the 3 disk version that included the bonus disk, "For the Loyal" (the other two are for Living and for Loving - fast and slow songs, respectively). I own both of his biographies, I have magazines with interviews, and of course have watched all his Eli Stone appearances. When GM wasn't cool, I remained committed. Why? Certainly not because he was just a "hottie" - though yes, he's very attractive. But because I really, really love his music.. even his goofy stuff from Fantastic (Club Tropicana drinks are free...) I think he's a great artist; he's remarkably human, and despite his towering success, he's dealt with insecurities and inner demons that are reflected in his music; and I believe that helps make his music more accessible and what has helped his music withstand the test of time. He is so much more than a pop star.

After a hard day at work especially the last hour I can not wait to get home and unwind and rewind my VCR to watch your show. You give me so much energy when I am totally drained out due to work! Thank you. If you would like to add more energy to that, I'd love some George Michael tickets! That would keep me going and going for the next 5 years or so!!

I understand if not this time, but no worries I will watch your show religously till you retire!

Go Ellen, love ya and never change!

Hello Ellen! Can you help me win a 24 year old bet with my younger brother????!!!!!
I must start by saying that I LOVE you! I TiVo your show everyday and watch it over the weekend. You can imagine my great surprise when my Ellen World happily collided with my George Michael World while I was ironing in my pj's this morning watching Friday's episode of your show! I let out a loud enough shriek that my husband came running to be sure I was alright!

So I have a HUGE favor to ask... I am hoping you can help me win a bet that my brother, Eric, and I made in November of 1988. You see, I have adored George Michael since his early Wham! days, and my brother and I always argued about music when we lived at home. (He blared Metallica and Guns N Roses from his room, I blared Wham! and George from my room!) Anyway, at the ripe old age of 11, Eric bet me $20 that by the time I reach the age of 75, I would not have met George Michael. I have the rudimentary document locked in my safe deposit box--Eric's handwritten bet on a post-it note!! This note went to college and grad school with me, moved 3 hours from home to begin my married life, and it only comes out once a year to remind Eric that I still have it.

My husband and I have already purchased tickets to see George on July 9th in Chicago, so I am not even asking for the free tickets.... Can you please make my dream come true and find a way for me to meet the man whose music I have loved for the past 25 years? Not only would I be meeting my musical idol, but I would also score $20 from my stunned younger brother!!! :-) I cannot even find the words to describe to you the years that have been spent talking, laughing, and joking about this bet. I am bound and determined to meet George (without getting myself arrested on stalking charges!), and I would love to see Eric's face when he has to pay up!

I know you get thousands of requests on a daily basis, and I almost feel selfish to ask this of you, but this may be my last opportunity for a long while... after all, George only tours here every 17 years, you know!! :-) And, the deal would be even sweeter if you came to Chi-town and I could meet you too...but I won't push my luck!

Thanks, Ellen. I Love you and your positivity!
You ROCK!!

Hi Ellen,

I love your show and think you are the best, most unique talk show host out there. You are so talented and I hope you will stay on the air for a long time. Sometimes you remind me of Lucille Ball, because sometimes you do the wackiest things. You may think I must be an old geezer, but I am actually 40 something. I grew up on a lot of the same music you did. I love to see you dance, make your way through the audiance and watch everybody having such a good time. You are a friend and an inspiration to many of us.

I was in college when I first heard George Michael. My fondest memories of his music though are from my year abroad in 1985. I was attending college in a magical little village in Switzerland, where I met people from all over the world. I met three of my closest friends there. One is Susan, who now lives in Maryland. She was my room mate in college. We quickly hit it off and were psyched to be room mates. I was anxious to make friends because I really did not know anyone. I met my other two close friends Estela and Doricela there too.

We have so many fond memories from that special time in our lives. The world was a safer place to be, George Michael's Careless Whispers was on top of the charts and was always heard on the radio or on the dance floor at the discos.

My friends and I still stay in touch and two years ago the 3 of us had a mini reunion at Susan's house. At first I was a little anxious about what we would have to talk about after so many years apart.

Seeing them again though was just the best feeling. We all agreed that even though 20 years had passed, our friendship was still as strong. We were still the same people, just a little older, a bit wiser and a little less/more crazy.

It would be great, if we could be together again when George Michael comes on your show. I would be forever grateful and so would they.

Thanks for all you do. Ellen you ROCK!

I TiVo your show each day and had not had a chance to watch Friday's (04/04/08) episode when friend of mine called to tell me that George Michael had phoned your show. Needless to say, I could not wait to get home to watch the episode and go directly to the computer to enter for a chance to win tickets to one of his upcoming shows.

You see, beginning back in the early 1980's, I was a HUGE Wham fan. So much so that when my mom asked what I wanted for one of birthday presents, I told her I just wanted to go see Wham. The next thing that I knew, she had purchased tickets to take my sister, our good friend Amy and myself to see Wham who would be performing in Miami. Sounds like not big deal, right? The problem was that we lived in Jacksonville (approximately 8-9 hours away) and the concert was on a school night so she would have to take us out of school. However, knowing just how much I wanted to see them, that's exactly what happened.

Then several years later, I had just started working at a large insurance company here in Jacksonville, when word began to spread that George would be on his Faith tour and making a stop in Orlando! Wow, I thought, he is making is closer to Jacksonville and if I could go all the way to Miami to see him, then I must make the trip to Orlando. Again, the concert was going to be on a week day and not having any time built up to take a vacation day, my friend and I drove down and back to Orlando in one day. After the concert, we came back to Jacksonville (approximately 3 hours) so that I could go back to work the next day.

We remember that night so well because the night air was cool, but I would not turn the heat on because she was supposed to stay awake and talk to me so that I would not fall asleep at the wheel. And besides, we were in aw of the concert we had just attended. What a show George put on! Excellent!

I cannot wait for the upcoming 25 Tour and am looking forward to being able to enter for a chance to win tickets! Thanks for all that you do! Keep up the good work and DANCE ON!!!

Hi Ellen,

My little babies have been glued to your show and all three of us have mastered your dance moves now :> Thanks for all of the wonderful mornings - it gets the day going without the need for coffee!

I have to comment that I was suprised when George called in to your show! He's a wonderful guy who really shaped my life and got me through the college years when I was scraping pennies to pay for a degree! Tell him I graduated with an MBA and then CHOSE to stay at home to raise my little ones...and I just want other people to know that it's okay to make this choice. I know my mom did and I know George's mom did as well. Our family makes alot of financial sacrifices now, and yes, it often feels like we're scraping pennies to spend time with our kids, but we know that in a few years, when they leave for college, that our true time as a family unit is over ... so until then, we will spend our days dancing with you and singing our hearts out to "Wake Me Up before you GO- Go" Yes, Moms and Dads... "CHOOSE LIFE" with your kids as priorities because time together with the "Family" as we know it is very short! Ellen and George, thank you again for the work you do and for putting "Fun" into our lives!!!! George, my dad just surprised Heena and I with Tickets...so we will see you and Mel in Atlanta on July 31st - look for us in Section 117, row Q (good luck! with the other 20,000 people there!)

LOVE AND HUGS TO YOU AND YOG !

Anita, Nikhil and Sanam Patel

Hi Ellen,

I really like watching your show, and the things you do. If all possible I would like to be on your show and Deal or No Deal. I have applied and made to the finals of DOND and no one has called me. If you could help, get me on your show and DOND on the same day I would just flip out.

Hi Ellen - I am a big fan of your show and am so excited you featured George Michael on your show. I have been a huge fan since his days in Wham! and would love to see him perform live. The last time I saw him I was in high school and I went with my mom and two sisters and had a blast. I live all the way out in South Dakota but am moving back to California...literally a month before he goes on tour there. I still have my GM t-shirt from 18 years ago, have every import CD, video/DVD and am addicted to Eli Stone just to see him. He is an incredible singer and performer and he is amazing! I even incorporated his song "Amazing" into our wedding video so please, please, please know that I am a HUGE fan and would be ever so grateful to be able to win tickets to see him in person. Take care!
