I have always been green....I was raised by depression era parents....When energy savings light bulbs became available....I replaced all my light bulbs with enery saving bulbs. I have always respected the fact water and gas are a privilege not to be taken lightly.

Hello Ellen! Thank you for the joy your show brings to my day. I haven't been able to watch you in a long time. I am home recovering from surgery. (breast cancer survivor) So this is the best part of my recovery. Starting my day with you! You are an "earth-bound" angel. Earth-bound angels are special people. While typing my previous comment my nine year old son came in and showed me that he went down the street and picked up a bag of trash! It is great to see how influentual the youth of the nation can be and are probably the most underestimated!

I am a youth counselor and today after watching your show I just had to do a skill that taught about Earth Day. I started picking up trash on the way into the building and the youngest child in my transportation started to pick up trash too. When we got to the building he asked why we did that. I was able to tell them all about Earth Day and continued on at group. It was great to see him follow by example, it just shows that kids are willing to do great things just by watching. On the way way out all of the kids picked up more items to get rid of without being asked! It was one of the highlights of my current job.

Your comment about Danika Patrick was short sighted. Indy cars use ethanol instead of gas, its made of corn. So the racers are doing their part as well.

I need to win a bike so I can give it to someone who can best use it. We have a friend who has to walk everywhere because he has no transportation. Once in a while he will allow us to take him places - to the doctor, to buy groceries, etc. He is 74 years of age and tries to walk every day. Although his health is not good, he makes every effort to exercise. We have been helping him for over a year and the most amazing thing is that now he helps others because of the people who have helped him. God has blessed us far more than we have been able to help this gentleman. He lives in a little apartment where other elderly people also live and he has befriended nearly everyone. It is amazing to see what happens when we treat others with kindness. It is passed on in wonderful ways.
