My daughter wants to have him come to her Junior High and do experiments with her science class.

I love watching you and Steve. It really shows how science can be fun which I think it important for kids. Also, Steve mentioned several times not to try this at home... I think it is great to show on TV.

Steve is a very careful about the experiments he shows and is always great about making sure a proper disclaimer is put with each of his activities.

I went to school with a boy that nearly died when he was shot in the eye by a potato gun. He was at a birthday party and the father of the birthday boy was firing the cannon for everyone. The last time he tried to fire it the potato didn't come out of the pipe and he placed it in the back of his pickup truck. Later the victim got cannon out of the truck and looked down the barrel and in doing so popped the back of the cannon on the ground. This was enough to dislodge the potato and it fired up into his eye. It had enough force that it shot the potato deep into his eye socket, jarred his skull, and nearly killed him. He had many surgeries, but today other than a large scar and fake eye he is ok. This was not a good thing to show on tv.

When I whas young long,long time ago we head a serie on tv The Absent Professor and when I see you Ellen with the glasses on you nose you look the same as the professor but you did it again Ellen you shoot the potatoe right in the hole

You two are hilarious together! My kids love to watch (well, I grab them when Steve Spangler is on the show and tell them to watch). I can't wait to try that experiment with the baby diaper. Do you just tear the diaper open to get that powder stuff?

Ellen's science guy told the audience several times not to try this at home. As a science teacher, I constantly have to remind the public that science experiments are different than doing an art project. Doing these kinds of experiments on tv is great because some teachers wouldn't be able to do it in class and it gets people talking about kids learning science. Keep up the great work!

Ellen in your defense of the potatoe gun, well my son has learned to make these in Science Class at school. And in learning to do so the teacher stated this one statement I think fits well: If you are old enough with common sense to create this, then you should also have the common sense not to aim it at anyone! Thus if you have a car do you run people over? Love your shows Ellen, keep up the fantastic entertainment!
