We always say it’s the “best thing since sliced bread.” Yes, sliced bread is great. But they still don’t sell slices of bread in single-slice packages like they sell cheese. That’s a great invention. Why don’t we say, “It’s the best thing since sliced and individually packaged cheese?” You know who’s the real unsung hero of inventions? Squeeze-top jelly. That’s what we should be saying, “It’s the best thing since squeeze-top jelly.” I think we should be able to get other things in a squeeze tube. Like why not squeeze-top Cheetos? Actually, they should sell them with a dispenser, like Pez. Or just have a cannon so you can shoot them into your mouth. I hope someone is writing this down… oh, wait a minute, I am.

The latest thing is the soap that looks like a liquid, but when it comes out it’s instantly foamy. You don’t have to lather. I mean that’s gonna save you a good three seconds. You used to burn calories while you’d lather. Not anymore. We’re all gonna have fat hands. And you know what they say, “fat hands are the devil’s playground.” I think I missed my calling. I should’ve been an inventor. Here’s another one… high protein fudge. Do ya hear me, ladies?

On Wednesday, Pierce Brosnan stopped by to talk about his new musical movie, “Mamma Mia!” He shot part of the movie in the same studio where he filmed his James Bond movies.

He has a scar on the right side of his face, above his top lip.

The very first film he claims to have seen was “Goldfinger.”

He is extremely claustrophobic.

As a teenager, he worked at a circus as a professional "fire-eater."

Last night, “The Bachelor,” Matt Grant, did not hand her a rose, so Wednesday I'll hand Amanda Rantuccio as many tissues as she needs. After he gave her the heave-ho, Matt told Amanda that he felt everything he ever said to her, and that Amanda had "virtually everything" he was looking for, but since Matt just dumped her, this just confused Amanda -- so she called Matt "a complete..." well, a bad word. Be sure to watch on Wednesday to find out if Amanda still thinks Matt is a (you know what) and if she's gotten over him yet.

It's Ellen's "Road to Riche$" game week, and on Tuesday two audience contestants played an exciting game of "Aisle Get It!" As you enjoy the game, just think about the number of brain cells we've wasted remembering product slogans.

Sometimes, just before her show, Ellen likes to stare at a blank TV screen. It's her way of reminding herself that she's got to try to be more entertaining than a turned-off TV. Otherwise, what's the point? Sure, we all know that Ellen doesn't need to go to that kind of trouble. There's no way she couldn't be entertaining even if she tried not to be. I guess you don't become a superstar without always pushing yourself to the entertaining limit every second of the day. And that's what Ellen DeGeneres does. Especially when there's only... 30 Seconds to Air.

Megan Cooper came in 1,294th out of 4,373 in the Country Music Marathon. She raised a lot of money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and had a great time. Here's a little look at how it went.

On Tuesday we showed a taped piece of Ellen conducting several job interviews. All the interviewees were wonderful and hilarious.

At some point, we started adding "Right?" at the end of our sentences. People don't have time for answers anymore. It's a weird speaking trend. We go through different speaking trends. Remember when the movie "When Harry Met Sally" came out, people started saying "Hello?" like Billy Crystal did? "I asked for non-fat milk! Hello?" It was really just a way to call someone stupid disguised as a friendly greeting. "Hello?" "Oh, hello there! How are you?" After "Valley Girl" came out, people started using the word "like" in, like, every sentence. But we still say "like," like all the time. We seem to like it. Do you know what I mean? That's another one, "Do you know what I mean?" People say it all the time at the end of a sentence. But it's perfectly clear what they say. "I'm really hungry, do you know what I mean?" I'm not sure. You mean food go in mouth, then to tummy and make you full? That kind of hungry? The newest one I've noticed is people saying, "yes" and "no" in a way where they mean the same thing... or nothing at all. They're putting "Or no?" at the end of a question. Have you noticed that... or no? Like they'll say, "Are you going to the store, or no?" Give me a chance. I can come up with the alternative to "yes" all by myself. I have my own show, for god's sake.

Why did the chicken cross Ellen’s "Road to Riche$"? To get to Game Week so he could drive a Honda Civic Hybrid! What’s a chicken gonna do in a Civic Hybrid? Range freely in style! When these job applicants showed up for an interview, they didn't expect to have Ellen interview them. They also didn't expect Ellen's hilariously bizarre behavior... or the hidden cameras.

Ellen conducted a bunch of pretend job interviews on Tuesday to see how much the interviewees would put up with. It turns out that they would put up with a lot! They were all great sports, and after everybody was interviewed, Ellen even hired one of them!
