Simon is the sensible one of the 3 -- alhtough Randy is starting to follow in his footsteps. He says exactly what a lot of people are thinking and his intention is always to bring the best out of the performers. He's a big reason why AI is such a hit!!!! You keep doing what you're doing Simon!!!!!

I love you Ellen and love your show, I hardly miss it but I LOVE Simon for who he is and I wish a lot of people are like him; blunt, honest, firm and straight forward. He is not a man pleaser telling people what they want to hear but rather I should say he is a GOD pleaser, always giving the hard truth, irrespective of how its taken ....but let's not forget that the "truth they say is bitter". The same HARD TRUTH was why JESUS was crucified but later what happened? ….The truth prevailed. Simon makes constructive criticisms and its people like him that made me what I'm today, FOCUSED AND HARD WORKING. We need more SIMONS in our society these days for a better world! And anyone who takes his corrections and criticisms in good fate will sure make it. Think of it, whoever he says is good has a long way to go and vise vase. Simon thumbs up for you!

I am a big fan of American Idol as well. I think Simon is fair just needs to watch his comments, sometimes he is just to honest. Bet he is FUN to live with!

Simon is the best judge on there. He doesn't twist his arms/hands, he speaks clearly and straight to the point. He doesn't belittle everyone by calling them "dogs" or "hey dude", and he certainly doesn't "sugar coat" the performance. It is what it is....he says it straight and I appreciate his straightforwardness!

Simon does what he does because he knows it gets a rise out of people. HE has a weird way of going about it, but he gets results.

I stopped wathching american idiol because of Simon. He is just plain rude. I think sometimes one has to be more polite to people.

Simon is the only reason I watched AI.Not only does he know what he's talking about, but he's usually right and on the spot.

The 'truth hurts' and that is why some people intepret honesty as being mean. Maybe he's too honest!

First, let me tell you you are soooooo cool even my kids love watching you.I dont think Simon is mean he is disrespectful. He always looks like he doesnt want to be there. His facial expression is like, " Oh I hate this job". But, one thingis true he is always right about who stays and who goes.I hate it when he is mean to cutie pie Ryan.

okay lets get this straight . simon cowell is not mean at all ! he's just doing his job, but one thing i know about simon is he is so hottt!!

I love Simon, he knows his stuff, that is why he is so successful. Not only that, he is usually spot on, although sometimes his analogies are a bit confusing. On the whole, I don't think American Idol would be the success it is without him.

Ok,I think that Simon is great but sometimes he can be really mean. But i think that the contestants take it really well, if it were me i would be mad. Randy is the only sane judge on the show haha

Simon HAS toned it down a little this year...but the one thing I truly believe that Simon always tells the truth as he sees it. I appreciate his comments because he doesn't get wishy washy. He and Paula are a perfect balance for each other.

No- Simon isn't meaner this year than last,in fact he seems to have toned it down a lot this year!

I don't think Simon is meaner this year, but I am confused at a lot of his comments. Last week, I loved Brook's Here Comes the Sun and the Irish girl's BlackBird. I just don't get why a BlackBird song was so wrong. Maybe he needs to explain himself a bit more so the non-producers will better understand his slams.
Anyway, I'm a big fan and enjoy the show, but your show is still number one in my MUST SEE list.

Simon is no meaner this year as he has been any other year, as far as I am concerned! Most people do not like to be insulted for something that they feel they are passionate about but they put themselves in that position. Simon is rude, you know it, I know it and so do the people who try out for Idol, know it! If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen! Sorry to disagree with you, but that's why he is there. If it were up to Randy and Paula to pick an Idol. They would all win!!

SIMON JUST SAYS WHAT WE ALL WANT TO SAY.I THINK HE IS THE GREATEST AND HE TRUELY MAKES THE SHOW I CANT WAIT TO HEAR WHAT HE HAS TO SAY.

We see talent contests all the time but Simon makes the show worth wathing. The suspense of his answers the surprise when he likes someone. It seems to surprise him more than anyone else when he says something nice. Can you imagine being his wife or girlfriend?
