Love Over the Internet Poll

Today Ellen introduced us to Amy Belastock and Dan Poehling who have had the most modern of romances. After a brief encounter on a plane, Dan and Amy hooked up on Craigslist’s “Missed Connections.” To make a long story short, it seemed only appropriate that Dan ultimately would propose to Amy over the internet. (She said yes, of course.)

OMG, so the most insane thing happened.....

Friday night I was at my new job (managing a pool at the rec) and I was just doing a rehire situation so I was still dressed up from my teaching job. So leaving this guy kept staring at me. He was cute and I just stalled waiting for him to come talk to me. He never did, so I just left. My friend yelled at me later, but I figured whatever I will probably never see him again. So Saturday afternoon I was bored and lonely, so I was checking out the CL as usual. I never looked at the Missed Connections but decided to see if anyone was looking for me. No, nobody was. But then I decided to leave one for him. Here is what it said,
"buck center in dt littleton..... - w4m - 22 (littleton )
Hey so I was leaving around 5pm yesterday, and I was wearing a gray top with a black fitted vest and plaid pants. I am blonde and you just kept looking at me. You were so hot, but I needed to get out of there to run some errands. I talked to the front desk girls for a minute and you were on that equipment in the front by the elipticals. Um, brown hair I think you were in a white shirt. I should have approached you and hope to see you there soon.... I will be there tomorrow at 7 or so I hope you want to work out during that time. If not drop me a line..... maybe people look at this stuff. Oh ya, you looked about 20's somewhere....."
I got home Sunday morning from partying on Saturday night. It was about 10am. I checked my email and this is what was in the inbox,
" You are not going to believe this, but when you left I was hoping that A.) You would come back so I could get your # or B.) That you would post something on here.
I was wearing red shorts and a white t-shirt and using that big stretching contraption they have by the ramp behind all the treadmills and eliptical! I wished I had stopped you as you walked past from the locker rooms or pool, or wherever you were coming from. But, I was too slow. Hope this is enough for you to know its me. You were so hot...sorry for staring!"

There was a second one from Josh as well,
" Hopefully you don't receive so many emails off that post that you miss mine! ha ha
Anything else I can say that would let you know you got that right guy"

I asked for a picture and it was him. We talked for a while and had a bunch in common. But I had to go up to the rec for a few things Sunday night and my new boss checked him out. Yes it was him! I couldn't believe this actaully happened! It is really neat that those things work, especially because we didn't even talk! My best friend Jess told me about this story on Ellen and she said it is just like that and it really is!

I wasn't able to catch the show. I TIVO the Ellen show everyday and for some reason my TIVO did not record the show today. What a bummer! I love coming home after work and watching the show. She is so wonderful. What a great down to earth person.

If TIVO doesn't record her tomorrow you bet I will be out buying a new TIVO!!
