Hi Ellen - I will continue to send you this email in hopes that I will eventually get a response. My daughter is 16 months old and she has a heart condition and has been on a feeding tube since birth. She has been in and out of the hospital since she was first discharged 6 months after she was born. She has had 2 open heart surgeries and multiple feeding complications. She has reflux issues and still continues to choke and vomit on her own saliva. We have tried to get her into a feeding clinic in hopes to teach her to eat by mouth and tolerate enough calories to thrive. My fiancee and I have a difficult time financially with both of us being laid off from our jobs a few months ago. I was laid off due to needing to be at home to care for my child. My fiancee has been able to find part time employment but I am unfortunately not able to go back to work since my daughter is too critical to go to daycare. The nice thing is that even though I am jobless , my former employer did continue the health insurance coverage for my daughter. We started Ava at a feeding clinic in Omaha , NE and although we got an approval from the insurance company initially, they denied the coverage after receiving the first bill. Ava has an opportunity to attend a feeding clinic in Los Altos, CA that guarantees to get kids off of their feeding tubes by the end of 6 weeks. The cost of the treatment is $25,000. With me out of work and my fiancee working part time and us having 2 other kids to support , this is not feasible for us. The insurance company refuses to cover this treatment and no other insurance will cover Ava since she has a pre existing condition. In addition , my fiancee and I were planning on getting married on Oct 11, 2009 in California. 2 weeks before we were set to take off , my fiancee was hit by an underage drunk driver and our jeep was totalled. The cost of repairs was $2500.00. That was exactly what we had set aside for our wedding. Needless to say , we pushed our wedding back yet again to take care of our only mode of transportation. We are now driving an 89 Taurus and the transmission is slipping. Last year was a rough one all the way around. I gave birth to Ava who was put on monitors the moment she was born and was in a medical induced coma for 2 months following. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and my dad had a stroke. This is the first time I have revealed all of this to anyone and I am not one who begs for charity however this is not for me, this is for my child and to ensure that she gets the best care possible and a fair chance to live like a normal , healthy child. The only reason I am sending this to you as opposed to anyone else is because I watch your show as often as my kids allow me to and I see how giving you are and how you help those in need. I am telling you that Ava needs you. Thank you for your time and reading my comment. I hope to hear from you soon. Jaimie

Hi Ellen,

I really just wanted to say Thank- you. You share your comedic talents and bless so many people with your laughter. I think, bringing smiles, and laughter to others is a special talent, that not many people have..and especially not to the extent you do.
In the afternoon after a long day, I lay on my bed and watch your show. Often it brings to mind that old saying about laughter being the best medicine. I suffer from depression, and frequently dont feel much like living, much less, laughing. But I see your face, and your beautiful smile, and it brings joy to my heart. Thank you so much for that!

Also, I wanted to wish you and Portia the very best. Marriage can be a wonderful thing. I hope you two grow even closer during your years together.
Thank you for being true to yourself.I draw strength from your courage.
Take care of you and your family.
Stephanie

P.S
I too love Jesus, but here and there I drink a little. Nothing like Oak barrel whiskey, lol. More like a glass of Pinot!!

Hello Ellen I watch your show as much as I can catch it on T.V. I think you are a blessing to a lot of people the way you help them. I am a college student and I work part-time when I go to school for an Ice company. I am the only women working there. I was married young at the age 20. I grew up fast and my ex-husband didn't. He was on drugs, and abused me mentally and physically. I stayed as long as I could for our kids. I finally got my divorce this year. He doesn't help with the support of the kids I do it all alone. I live in a 2bedroom single-wide trailor that is falling apart. There are holes in the floor and the roof needs repairing. When it rains it rains in the house. I have 3kids and I am currently pregnant with twins. I know that after I have the babies I will have to quit school and get another job. The thing is I don't want to bring my babies home from the hospital to home that is falling apart. I thought about giving the babies up for adopation, but I don't want them to go to anyone else. It is so hard for me to do something like that. I pray everyday that things will get better. I know it will take me years to get on my feet and get me where I need to be. I don't want anyone to see how I am living but if I have to do it to get help for me and my kids then I will. My kids will not be gettin much christmas this year. For the simple fact that I haven't gotten a rise in 2years and this year my job will not be giving out christmas bonuses. I hate seeing my kids suffer and it make me want to cry everyday. But I try my best to hold back the tears and just pray that everything will be alright. Thank you for reading my story and I know that if you don't get to me my blessing will come eventually. I just hope it doesn't take forever to get here.

Hi Ellen - Its me again. Please, please Read my email. I have never been picked on anything and would so love to have you respond to me. I love your show and the great guests and the wonderful things you do for people and animals. Me and my husband are a easy touch for all the strays in our neighborhood. We feed all the cats and sometimes we look out and find opposums, skunks and raccoons. They say a sucker is born every minute and all the cats know his address. If you could please help us with some of your pet food our dwindling SS check would sure appreciate it. Happy holidays to you and your sweet mamma. Love Grandma Grace Forrester

Ellen!!! My name is Lorne i'm 22 living in Orlando fl. Currently working at Millers ale house as a hostess. Wish I could do more but as of now its really about keeping a place to live. I'm here with my mother, witch she has been one of the people that has got layed off after working as a human resources manager for 16 years. I love your show! It truly makes me smile when i'm in the dumps. I'm so happy for you to get your new idol gig! I can't wait to watch the new season coming up. When I was younger i had always watched idol.. but for the past few years.. wasn't so much into it. But since your going to be on it... "I can't wait to see it!" Your going to do a great job! I want to send you a video of my friend Billy. I watch you so much, that he lets me dress him up as you! You wouldn't believe how much he has your hair and moves! Anyways i just wanted to let you know your truly a wonderful person, I wish i could have seen your show when you were here at Universal city walk.. Keep doing what you do, make us smile!

I have a game idea for you Ellen. It's called
Tickle your Fancy". I love the way you dance over your coffee table. I though It could be fun to have your contestents dance over tables and have each table get wider, and each center piece get higher. Who ever can go the longest with out " Tickleing their fancy" would be the winner.

Hey Ellen,
My Church is doing a thing this winter where we give presents to kids who's parents dont have the money to get them anything for christmas. We where doing this and we say a kid that had tons of presents under his tree. We thought, if he has all these presents why are we getting him more? Well, It turns out, they were all just empty boxes that the parents rapped. They just had them there to make him feel good. It broke my heart! So this christmas he will be getting some clothes, and toys and other things that he needs and want. I thought that you coulddo this to. First of all, you could help more and get more than what we could get. Esspecially with the loss of jobs and stuff. My family cant help to many people. It would help a lot Ellen. You could call it Present-cember to go with Doughvember. LOL i dont know. (: Love your show by the way. Me and my dad never miss one episode!:D
Merry Christmas!
-Allie

Ellen.
My roomie and girlfriend are very big fans of yours. Oh and me also. To fill you in i commited the greatist error. While shopping we are on a very tight budget and we put aside $5 to get the new O mag with you on it. As happy as everyone was to see you and the great O on the cover we couldn't wait to get home to read it. As we were loading our stuff into my truck the last item was in this bag all by it's self so as not to get hurt and to ride up front with the seatbelt on. I picked up the bag causeing that such object to fall out when i grabed it with such care the cover just ripped totaly off. The look i got from my rommie was one of ( i have lost my mind ) and im going to mame you so that you can feel the pain and agony that has just been caused to everyone. i was scared for my life ellen. so the only way i can fix this is wait until pay day and hope i can find two O mags or even better BEG YOU FOR YOUR HELP. Please could you send me two autographed O mag one for maria and one for my wonderful lady Deidre so that i may move out of the dog house. Thank you for your show it brings happyness to this and many other homes.

First of all I just want to let you know how much my daughters and I love your show. We have watched since the first day you aired. My daughter Tara is a young stay at home mother. She is not working and has no health insurance. She is married, but was not put on her husband's insurance. She needs an operation on her knee. She has a torn miniscus. Without insurance they can not afford this operation. My question to you is..Do you have any skits, tricks, stunts, that can be performed for prize money? I am volunteering Tara's younger sister Brittany. She is 21 and will be a willing partisipant. We need to get Tara on her feet. Please keep us in mind. Thank you, Sharon ps. do you like how I volunteered her sister...

I went to two Walgreen's a CVS, Borders Books and Barnes and Noble today to try and get the new O Magazine. I am a huge fan of both. None of the stores had them yet. They all say they may be out in a few days. One Walgreen's told me they may be in the back inside one of the 10 boxes of magazine's back there. Very frustrating!!!!!

Hi Ellen and Staff, ~ I don't think this went through the first time so I'm sending it again, sorry if you receive it twice...
Let me begin by saying I think you and your show are incredible, the smiles and laughs I get from watching you are priceless. I've been watching your giveaways and honestly you've been bringing tears of joy to my eyes. I am a care provider for adult people with autism and have special needs. I need to provide them with community access ( ex. grocery shopping, recreation center, hiking, etc.). This means I do a lot of driving. Unfortunately my car is literally falling apart. My clients deserve to be in a comfortable ride while in my care, I can't provide this for them due to finances and other money problems. I know this is a long shot but I thought I would reach out to you because I watch you help people in need all the time. Keep me smiling and laughing Ellen, Y'All are wonderful!
