Hi Ellen ! I just got back from a week in New Orleans, during jazz fest! It was my first trip and I had a blast! I was so happy to see so many people there spending money and helping bring the city back. Everyone I met was so friendly and treated us just like family. We got to eat at Emerril's restaurant, and it was amazing. I love the quarter and all the stuff to see. Everyone should visit and enjoy all New Orleans has to offer. I can't wait to go back ! Please say hi to all the friends I made at Mena's Cafe on Chartres
St. We watch your show every day and love all u do! Thanx for being u! luv Debbie Holden Irene, Tx

Dear Mrs. Degeneres,

I love your show and I admire you as one of my role models. I am 15 years old and I am very devoted to the game of Golf and devoted to making my high school golf team, which will be a hard task. A few weeks ago, the pool in my backyard got torn down, and it left an ugly patch of sand where it used to be. My family and I were talking one day about what to put there, and a great idea came to my mind. Why not put in a synthetic putting green so I could practice golf any time I wanted? Well, it sounded like a great idea at first, but I did some research and synthetic putting greens are way too expensive for our family to afford. My dad's part time job is in jeopardy so getting a putting green in my backyard seems impractical. I emailed various websites seeking help but they didn't respond. You are my last hope and I could really could use some help!!! Can you think of any ideas of how to reduce the cost?

Ellen, I would like you to join us on a trip to
Florida.Your invited to stay at our little vacation house with us.
We are taking our grandson with us, he's 11. We will be visiting Discovery Cove in Orlando. This is your chance to swim with the Dolfins and Stingrays.
I told my grandson that I would love to bring a friend of his with us. But the money will be a little tight for that at this time. His response to me was. That's ok grandma. I can make friends any place I go. How special is that?
we also plan to go on an airboat ride, maybe rent some wave runners, also go on a Pirate Ship.
if you are up to some giggles. Trip is planned for Aud. 2 to Aug. 16th.

Hi Ellen,
I write to you today because I was really touched by a guest that was on your show. I am a Southwest Airlines flight attendant and on my last leg of the night to Kansis City, I had a very special customer on board by the name of Alfred Williams. As he boarded, he was smiling from ear to ear holding a great big check from your show. My heart swelled as he shared with me the same story about his life that he had shared with you. I haven't been able to stop thinking about his great smile and I would like to offer another gift to him to make his smile even greater. My husband is a well established dentist in Utah and we would love to fly him to Salt Lake City on Southwest Airlines to give him a brand new smile compliments of my husband and I. I wonder if you would extend this gift and invitation to Alfred. Just tell him it is from his Southwest Airlines flight attendant friend Cindy. Thank you so much and I hope to see him again. Cindy

Hi Ellen! My name is Lindsay, I am 15 and I live in Toronto, Ontario. I know you here this all the time but you are the best! More people in the world should be like you. Making people laugh is a wonderful gift so don't ever lose that. You always make me laugh everytime I watch your show. I think that it's really great that you have kids on the show showing their amazing talents they have. One of my favourite episodes is the one where you called a mom and sent her and her three autistic chidren for one week and a night to stay in Cinderella's castle. That was so nice I sat in front of the TV and cried. I know one day I will go to one of your shows and laugh my head off. I really wanted one of your 800th episode iPods until I could go to your show.

I know how much you love animals and i have a story that i think you would love. I am a woman in a wheelchair who uses a venterator part time and oxygen full time but that does not stop me from saving abused animals. A year ago last December someone brought me a very abuse part Jack Russel puppy to find a good home for. I soon found out she was not fully weaned so i ended up feeding her soft food my hand and she slept on my chest at night. When she was healthy enought I had her fixed and got all her shots. We named her Sugar plum. Sugar got very healthy and fast. one day she got out the door and within minutes we combed the area with no luck. My personal assistant/driver had eye sugry and could not drive so a friend of mine went to the local pound and found her. The pound said that if i got there my the end of the day with the paper work they would give her back. We got there with the paper work and they had already adopted her out. I begged them to give her back and explained my problems of gettting to the pound sooner, they basicly said tough. I immediately called our local news NBC station problem solving team. They went to action to no avail so they interviewed me. When the sement went on the air saying the local pound would not give me back Sugar the local community gave an out roar of protest. The station got flooded with e-mails, the local pound got flooded by phone calls and so did the Mayor's office. I was touched and pleased that strangers were fighting for me to get Sugar back. The station did a second interview and suprised me by bring Sugar back. Sugar was so happy she jumped in my lap and started licking me until she knocked my oxygen tube off. The pOund had fixed her again and gave her shots agin even though we showed them the paper work that it had already been done. She almost died from it. I rushed to my vet and it cost me $300.00 to save her. Fornately a kind man from my church paid for it. Sugar is now well and healthy. She is happy most of the time but i do believe she has flash backs because she is easily scared. Sorry this is so long but it needed to me told. thank you Genell

Hello Ellen,

I watch your show all the time. No matter what kind of mood I'm in you can always crack me up. My son once told me when I was correcting him in a loud tone to just go watch Ellen. I had to laugh.

I have a 19" TV in the living room that is about to give out. I would love to see you in person instead of seeing you on the small screen.

If you are every in Charleston SC please look me up. I would love for you to attend a fund raiser for my cousins wife Robin Lobosco. She needs a Kidney Transplant. It will be at Charleston Maritime Center Sunday June 22, 2008 12:00 - 8:00pm. Ms. Robin was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease. Dear Ellen,
My name is Cristy Smith and I work for Westbrook Health Setrvices here in Parkersburg West Virginia. Westbrook does many things but I work in a residential home with 3 mentally handicapped men. Now these men have down syndrome, autism, etc. They are however the sweetest guys I have ever met. Each one of them has certain programs to stick to and part of their program is to go to a Day Time Program 5 days a week. Here they are with others like themselves. Now granted everyone doesn't have the capability to play the Neos, but 2/3 of my home does. I think it would be great for these boys to have this in their Daytime Program. Westbrook is funded through the state so things like this doesn't happen for them everyday. I hope you will consider these boys. For more information on Westbrook you can visit www.westbrookhealth.com
Tahnks for your time!!!! Cristy

Ellen, I am writing you about the NEOS GIVE AWAY not for me, but for a whole town. I live in WaKeeney, Kansas and there isn’t much for young kids to do around here. The small town is trying to put in a theatre; witch will also include a game room, not only used for children, but could also be used as a “coffee shop” for senior citizens, a meeting room, for businesses or family get-togethers, and a stage for community plays and forums. The game room would be a great place for the NEOS to go, it will allow the kids to play and exercise at the same time and that is what parents are looking for. The town is working on getting donations and obtaining numerous grants and the NEOS and anything else you could help us with would just be one more step closer to getting it done.
We need this theatre for a safe place for our children to go to and a place for the community to use. This is something the whole town could us and appreciate. We have to travel over 30 miles for any kind of these activities. I would love my children to have somewhere to go and play and enjoy themselves, especially when it is cold and or rainy outside. WaKeeney is working so hard to better itself, and being a small town it makes it harder to come up with the money and anything you could do to help would be much appreciated. I was born and raised in this small town and only wished there could have been something like this for us kids to do growing up here, but now I have a chance to help do something for the future children of this town. I have already donated and now I hope we can just come up with enough to get the job, theatre, done.
I love your show and how you have helped so many people out. If there were more people like you out there I believe we would live in a better world. If you can’t help our town out that is okay, but I just hope the place that gets the NEOS needs something like it as bad as we do. Thanks again for helping so many people and towns out, and good luck finding a good place for the neos.
Thanks Amanda and the town of WaKeeney.

Dear Ellen,
I saw the show today that featured the Neos. I teach Kindergarten at King-Chavez Academies, a charter school in San Diego. We desperately need the Neos.

In February our kindergarten playground was removed due to code violations. We have been waiting patiently for our new playground to be built, but it's projected that the equipment won't be in until June, the end of the year!

Although the director and staff have created activities for the children to play with during their recesses, these are sedentary activities such as blocks and art. Other than P.E. once and/or twice a week, there are 120 kindergarteners who've not been able to run and jump and play for three months!!

Imagine an afternoon with 20 five-and-six-year-olds who have not had a chance to shake their sillies out. Learning time can be quite the challenge.

We, six crazed kindergarten teachers and five unnerved support staff, would be ever so grateful and the kids would LOVE this wonderful opportunity to PLAY!

It would be such wonderful memory for them to take from their first year of school and not the memory of an empty playground, and the knowledge that they never got to play on the new kindergarten equipment because they had moved on to the first/second grade playground. The grins on their faces and joy in their play is how I would love to remember the end of the 2007-08

Thanks for everything. I love your show.

Best regards,
Chet Sewell

Hi Ellen,

I have a few miscellaneous things to talk about. First of all, I think your show is great. It's funny (of course), you have great guests, I absolutely love any and all of the animals on your show, and your show just makes me feel happy!!

I do think I should kind of "caution" you to steer clear of the remarks pertaining to your relationship with Porsha (spelling). Let's please remember this is a CLEAN, family-oriented show, and I wouldn't want to see the same thing happen that happened with your sit-com a decade ago. I like it being clean, and I don't have kids!! I get so tired of EVERY show being about sexual relationships. I don't mean to be critical, and I know it must be difficult to not talk about the love of your life, but it seems the first two or three years you didn't, and as time goes on, there's more and more talk of your relationships.

Please, this summer, when you have all re-runs, don't play a show that played just two weeks previously. There are a lot of teachers around the US who have summers off, and we'd like to see shows from the winter. Shows that weren't on over the Christmas holiday. Maybe that's a lot to ask of you?!

And while this is off-subject, I'd like to reply to "Anonymous" from April 26. I feel the EXACT same way you do; it starts getting old when no one does anything for you after you just give and give and give. I do think people definitely start to take advantage. I do wish you the best.

Thanx for listening, Ellen. I think you're awesome!!!!

Dear Ellen:
I really enjoy your shows, and I try to watch every day.
You are always doing nice things for people, I
am writing to see if you would consider helping
a deserving senior citizen. I am the assistant
director of the Bath County Senior Center. We
are planning on going from our very remote section
of Virginia to Pennsylvania in July. The County
of Bath is giving us each $200 towards our trip,
which is $279. Some of our Seniors cannot come
up with the extra $79. Would you possibly consider "ADOPTING" one or more of our seniors???
I know that this is a long shot, but I am praying
that you will read this and can help us out.
I really love it when you call Gladys. She sounds
like a really great gal.
Congratulations on your 800 shows. Keep up the
good work.
Thanks for your consideration.
Love,
Katie Smith

Dear Ellen'
NEOS GIVE AWAY--I would like you to consider ST.MICHEAL'S SCHOOL. This is a residental school for children who have problems--either at home with their families or because of other issues. e
I work as a nurse there. The children are wonderful, sometimes I wonder how they manage with all the disappointments they have had to deal with. The school is always looking for ways to keep the children active. I think the NEOS game would be great. You would have to check with the Director to be sure that this would be appropiate for the facility..
Thank you for any consideration you may give..
I love your show & all the good you do. God bless.............Love Ya......Linda

Some things in my life has gotten me depressed and it gets harder and harder to see the good in my life. I would love to hear from you... best reguards ~colie

I watched your show with Dr.Dyer. I agree that kindness makes you feel good and have tried to help people all my life. However there can come a time when this does back fire. Because it is a chemical reaction to thought process. If you never have a kindness done for you in return (even though your own act is done without expectation)you start to spiral down from that feeling of being good. I have always put others first and strived to make others feel better. There comes a time when you involuntarily start to think you are not good enough because other than when doing for others you don't feel good. We all need some type of validation in our lives. When you get none, little pieces of you die. I will never stop trying to help others because my empathy towards others is not a choice but my natural being.
You, Ellen, do always make people smile and your joy in life shines through and is so real.
you are one of those special people

Dear Ellen:

I would watch your show everyday if I could. I have been working the night shift and it is very difficult for me to stay awake in order to see you. You don't come on till 10:00 am in Cleveland, TN. I was wondering if there is any way I can get a TiVo so that I can watch you whenever I want.

I think you are one of the best talents on this planet and your show is one that is very unique. You have some of the best guests on your show. What I have found to be very rewarding is how you take notice of just ordinary people who have done extraordinary things for other people.

I would love to be able to attend one of your shows, but even if I did get tickets, I wouldn't beable to make it there because of a transportation problem. I am 51 years old and am still raising two teenage sons.

Ellen, I really love your show. Keep up the good work. I believe you will be on TV longer than Johnny Carson was.

I just wanted to comment, on the comment you made about the grammer correction your Mom made the other day. The one where you were showing a video on "Mily and her friends dancing". I'm sorry to say but you were correct and your mom was wrong, it is "her friends and not she friends".
If you use "she" you are talking about Mily herself (first person). As in "She" was dancing in a video with "her" Friends. "Her" friends are used in the sentance as a Possession, "as the hat belongs to her (Mily)" NOT SHE!!
It really sounded silly when you said it on air, and yes you do have yes people or someone would have caught the mistake. LOL

Ellen ~

I've enjoyed your comedy for years & your show never disappoints.

The other day, I was watching your 800th show (congrats!) and I heard you say something that stopped me dead in my tracks. You said with a huge smile "yes, I'm engaged, I've been engaged for a long time...I can't wait until it's legal to get married"

I thought that was a horrible thing for any person to ever have to say.

Although I disagree that 'marriage' is defined as being between a man & a woman, I guess in some ways I've come to understand how some people may view it as such. And although I thought it was sad that it was necessary, if a vote to 'legalize' gay marriage was the only way to fix it, then so be it. And when prompted, I've voted to do just that.

Despite the fact that I'm not gay, I don't see why anyone's basic human rights should be denied - so long as they're good, decent human beings - just because someone else has decided that who they choose to love is 'inappropriate'.

Each day on your show, you promote being good to one another, laughter & doing the right thing. Your tireless efforts to raise money for charity & how you treat people are an inspiration to us all. You are not only a role model for how women should be, but how people everywhere should be. And I just don't understand why you're not considered 'equal' simply because you're gay.

I wish you well & I hope society realizes the error of it's ways soon.

Ellen, about 2weeks ago I sent in a message to you about my granddaughter, Nicolette, who was very interested in dating one of the Jonas Brothers, since you had them on your show and the group mentioned that they would go out with one of their fans. I mentioned to you about all her qualifications,(as follows-She is smart, honest, kind loving, has frequent flyer miles, funny, understanding, not an asker for attention, sweet good Catholic girl, loves their music, sings her self, very attractive, beautiful brown eyes, and a very pleasant girl to be with, whose parents come originally from Morris County in New Jersey and so was her grandparents whom are originally born and raised in New Jersey, with that in mind, I think she has something in common with the Jonas Brothers. Nicolette would love to meet them somewhere or would love to e-mail them someway, with your help. Right now she could use some sort of estatic news to put her in a unbelieveable state to help her to get out of a big dilemna which she is facing right now between her and her father, who does everything to making it miserable as he can for her. He bearly gives her mother money support and will not give her a penny more. She is in the middle of this dilemna and she should not be. Ellen, I know with your help you could make her day with your help someway. From Nannyglasses Arlene.

Dear Ellen.
Im writing to you from my school guidance office, from Saint John NB, Canada.
In March 2006, my good friend Leo McPhee died, because of a game called "space Monkey". It had been a hard 2 years, and im still getting over it. Leo's mom Rose, his dad Danny, and his sister Danielle, have been helping us kids since his death cope with our feelings.
They personally, are my guardian angels, and I thank god for them everyday.
Now the reason why I am telling you this, is because on May 18, 2008, The city of Saint John is planning a walk, to stop this deadly game. What I ask from you, is there any way, you can help us spread the word to everyone about this game?
It would mean so much. Thank you very much, and god bless.

Hi Ellen,

I want to Thank You, for putting up the name of the song you dance to everday, the artist and album information. You know, because of you doing this, I now get to the know the name of the song and the artists who sings the tunes. Anymore on the radio stations here.. they rarely say what the names or who the artists are sing the songs are. So Kudos to you Ellen. There were so many songs I liked, but I never knew the names until your show started to post them this past year..

I was also wondering if you would be so kind to give me a shout out, and wish me luck. I am facing surgery on May 27th. at Univ of Cleveland Hospital, in Cleveland, Ohio. I may have to have a complete hystrectromy.. depending what the Dr. may see when they start to poke around. I have had a rough time of it, ever since my mom passed away on Christmas Day of 2006... it has been a rippled effect. Last Aug 17, 2007 I had to have my thyroid removed, Jan 2, 2008, some young punk tried to break down my apt door. My 2000 toyota corolla "check engine" light keeps coming on, It's like every month something just keeps happening. Like enough already. So, I thought maybe just maybe if you could Wish Me Well. Maybe my luck will change for the Better. I have watched your show since it began and tape it everyday, so sometimes, I watch you twice. Congratulations on your 800th show, I hope you are around for another 800 shows, and that I will be too... Thanks Ellen...

Hi Ellen,
As a life long Chicagoan/Ellen Degeneres fan, I am writing to you because I have really been disheartened by this whole "Ellen in Chicago" ticket situation. Since your show began, I have written to you asking you to visit Chicago. When you announced that you were coming, I thought I was going to have a heart attack! I signed up online for tickets immediately.

When I started reading the boards, I found out that some people have already received tickets. I thought tickets were on a first come, first serve basis, but that doesn't appear to have been the case.

Also, why are you giving tickets to so many non-Chicagoans? I have come across multiple comments on the boards from people in other states that are getting tickets. Isn't this show supposed to be for Chicago and its people??? Why are people from Oregon, California, etc. getting tickets before Chicagoans???

Most importantly, and as much as I love the Deep Dish Dig game, why are you giving tickets away to people in your audience? Most of these people seem to be from California and they are already at a taping of your show! I don't get it.

I love you to death and no matter how hard I try, I can't get mad at you. But, as a life long Chicagoan/Ellen fan, this whole ticket situation has really left a sour taste in my mouth. Maybe you could tape more than one show here?

Debbie

Hi Ellen, (subject: David Beckham)

I'm writing to you, all the way from Sydney Australia. I love your show. It's enjoyable and fun. I'm writing to say that I'm very jealous that David Beckham gave you his soccer boots. I'm a great fan of David and I've been trying to grab something of David on ebay (especially shoes, but with no luck). If you're ever wanting to give them away please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks.

Dear Ellen, A while ago CBS news had a segment on Social Security Disability and how so many were getting denied it and you need to do a snow or something on it and come up with some ideas to help many like me. I was diagonosed with a spinal compression in the neck area which has affected all of my nerves and I now walk with a cane for balance, have a lot of painful days, It cost me my job, all of my insurance etc. We just ended up moving out of our home as my husband has been disabled for years, and moved in with my daughter who only has a one bedroom home and we now live in her dining room! I seem to hit a rock wall every time I attempt to get any help and I know there are several out there like me that so deserperately need help! Social Security tells me it can take up to 18 months to be heard by a judge and we needed help yesterday

Ok Ellen,
I Have To Know.... are you a non-smoker or not?? I've been waiting to hear since you were hypnotized to stop smoking on your show. I stopped smoking when you did, after 43 years!!! And I did it cold turkey! You had the perfect oppertunity to let us know when you were talking with Ewan McGreggor (I hope thats right!!) I mean, he said he had quit by being hypnotized, and I waited with bated breath, will she say it now??? Has she quit?? Please let me know!
Take care lady, you still don't realize how much you mean to your fans! And I'm one of your biggest!

hey ellen, this is one of your fans (consider the obvious) anyway, just wanted you to know that although i dont watch your show everyday, (us teens have some busy lives-aka reading), but i really love your show. you are hilarious. i mean, almost as funny as me, which seems kind of impossible, but whatever. i was just wondering, if my funny friend and i made a comedy video thing, since thats what we do on our spare time, how cool are we, if i could send it in. thanx, shelby, the hottie (dont deny it)

so cool we have the same name, well mines in the middle. I did not type in yesterday the 23rd for what I did good and kind. I gave to the Ronald McDonald house, and sent a feel better card to my oldest daughter. I am really hoping this is where I am supposed to be doing this. But today I gave to toys for tots and save a cat named Bob. I was at my doctors appt. I got there early so I was the only one there. Wexford, PA. So here comes this orange tabby cat, I open my car door he jumps in. He had on a collar with his name a phone number and address. I was far from where I live Ellwood City, PA. So I left call the number the mail box is full. I leave him in my car go to my my Drs. appt. and see if they no where I could bring him. I can keep him, I have two dogs since babies, a chow and australian shepard, they would not like Bob!! So the place I have to go to is an hour away. I go. It is a vet hospital. They say they can not keep him. I say well can you help me tell me where to take him. So i wait. They get ahold of the owner, he does not want him. He keeps dropping him off, people keep bringing him back. He tells them to tell me to put him back out side, I cry can't do it. I tell them to tell him to come get and bring him to the shelter where they told me to go so he can go to a good home. If they did not want him in the first place
they should not have got him. I hate that. I too, love animals. I hope he goes to a good him. As always great show, again you made my day.
Love ya,and God Bless

I am sitting here in South Carolina, watching the Boston Red Sox, (long story), and they are behind at the top of the ninth- and as the other team is coming up- I find myself sitting here- saying and DOING "WALK OFF" without a seconds thought. I am missing your show-- and started laughing out loud at how much I cope with everyday things with a sense of humor thanks to you! I have a good one- but OMG you do add inspiration! Thanks! GO SOX!

Dear Ellen
Don't know if you are doing anything for mothers on Mother's Day, but I would like to nominate my husband, Tom Patterson. We have been married 36 years on June 3 (we were so young, I believe 12 - no actually we were both 19 and lived next door to each other from the time we were 12). My husband absolutely adores you, and if weren't for your being gay, he would probably dump me and come and get you. He never misses your show, and I try to get home in time to watch it. Twenty years ago he started what was the beginning of chronic back syndrome with two surgeries (1988). He pretty much went downhill from there. He has had a total of 6-8 back surgeries. He was able to work again for two short periods of time. He's been on disability and social security since around '96 or '97. His back doesn't allow him to do much, but we have three adopted children that were our foster children (we were foster parents for 19 years). One of our girls is a 14-year-old handicapped child, and our baby girl is 8, and she was special needs when she was younger. Tom is the house husband and (mom) and dad to our two girls. He keeps up on our laundry, plans meals, cooks, cleans up dishes, and cleans house even though it is actually hard on him. Actually he's a better housewife than I ever was. Ha!! I loved watching all the soaps and eating bon-bons (not really). I went back to school at the age of 48 and graduated with a degree in medical transcription at the age of 50. I have worked ever since for the county coroner's office. This pays for our insurance, which we have always needed so badly because of the medical bills. I love my job (most people are creeped out from it), so Tom allows me to do what I love and he takes care of everything else. He is an awesome husband and father - incidentally, we also have two biological sons (29 & 23) and our other adopted son is 18. Unfortunately, he suffers from bipolar disease, and we don't see a lot of him. Didn't mean to go into a huge history of our family, but it helps to understand why Tom is so awesome. We have a strange family dynamic and are very far from normal. But we keep it together in good times and bad times. I just thought that if you recognized moms in any way, you might recognize Tom too.

You are so great, Ellen - you have brought a clean and fun show to the network.

Love

Cindy Patterson

Hi Ellen,
You make my day!! I laugh sometimes to the point of tears, happy tears! You are truly a wonderful person.
I am a cheerleading coach for the local high school in White Lake Mi, Lakeland High School, and for the past 3 years, the cheerleading team has been a part of the Relay For Life Cancer Walk. It is a 24 hour event that the girls participate in. They walk/run (some for all 24 hours)and they pitch tents and have a luminary ceremony to in honor of cancer victims as well as survivors. Cancer has taken the life of one of our girls Mom and has struck in a few others lives. Is it possible for you to make a donation to the American Cancer Society on behalf of our cheerleading team?
We would greatly appreciate anything you can do.
Thank you for your time,

Good Morning Ellen,
I am like a huge fan of yours along with the other million fans! You are such an inspiration to me and so many people because of your willingness to be totally authentic...the "real deal" and yet so admired and worshipped. My mom and I have a dream to attend your show someday. You will be in Chicago next week and I think I have entered every contest that was offered to try and get 2 tickets. I want to surprise my mom for mothers day and fly her here from North Carolina. I know it will happen someday because it is a strong desire and I truly believe that if we let the universe know what we truly desire in our hearts, our dreams can and will come true.
Thank you for being you!! Namaste Donna

Hi Ellen

just thought I'd send you some ideas fae Bonnie Scotland, think it would be an absolute hoot to see you and the Big Yin (that's Glaswegian by the way) aka Billy Connolly to show your moves on your show. Even better have the Proclaimers on and you could get the whole place bouncing with I'm gonna be (500 miles). Also I know you had Rod Stewart on and I'm sure he mentioned his favourite soccer team (Glasgow Celtic) I think you would look fantastic (as you always do) with a Celtic shirt on so I'll do the honours and get one over to you. By the way think you should bring your show to the Edinburgh Festival as we Scots to laugh, dance, sing and occasionally toss big bits of wood in the air for no apparent reason and have a general shin dig. Lang may yer lum reek Ellen

P.S. Your show is the best in the UK even better than Parkinson and he's regarded as a chat show legend!! You are an honorary Scot Ellen McDegeneres

Hey Ellen or incredible staff executive reading this,

Friends and I were out recently as "Stand By - Rif Raf" and were awarded tickets for May 20, 2008. While we were there the place was packed and it was a no brainer we'd have to return. Hillary Clinton was the special guest that day. Do you know what it is like being checked over by the Secret Service???? Anyway, the Rif Raf room was really a fun time. Thank You! We danced and had a blast. However, while waiting outside all the seats were taken. So we sat in the VIP seating were NOBODY was sitting. WE all know we are VIPs so didn't think that was an issue. Though we were told by your staff later that we were NOT Very Important People when a limo brought in four people from Bakersfield, CA. No offense, but we were from Menifee, Temecula and Hemet, California. We know it isn't LA but COME ON! Bakersfield vs us?? We paid for our own gas and now must do it again willingly.

Would you be so kind to at least let us feel as if we are VIPs?? We are not asking for a limosine (if you want to throw that in we would not object). We survived the Rif Raf room and loved the experience. I'm pleading as the ring leader of the ticket pursuers. Please let us be VIPs. Each one of us deserves it. One person in our group in going through a divorce (she is a cellist in the local Inland Symphany Orchestra). Another lost her home recently and car last year in foreclosure procedings. Another lost her job, husband lost his job, father died and dog died. I had a husband who just retired as of February 1st, 2008 and is driving me crazy (my goal is to go BACK TO WORK). I'm not making any of this up. The "ellen show" is the only thing that makes us laugh. Sad but true.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon. We dance like we love it and need to compared to the boring VIPs from Bakersfield.

Make it your best day ever!

Hiya Ellen!

I just wanted to drop you a few lines to say, "I love your show." Your FUNTASTIC!! also, I hope my entry for the GMC YUKON HYBRID took! I downloaded a pic of my 1989 Jeep Cherokee Sport. But, the sight gave me no confirmation that my entry was accepted. Hope you can check on that for me. Let me know if I need to re-enter. I am embarrassed to go to town in my Jeep. It's driver door is hanging on one hinge. My break lights went out a few days ago. The radio has a mind of it's own! The air conditioner is a rolled down window. I haven't registerd the license plate (due 06)b/c I do not have a title to the Jeep. The key is stuck in the ignition. Tried WD-40 didn't work. lol The biggest thing is I have to fill with water to even start/driver the darn thing.

A-E ways get back too me on my entry for the Hybrid giveaway.

Dear Ellen, I have 3 children. One of which just recently told me that he is gay. My son is 13 years old. I love him very much and I tell him he should be who he is. That is much easier said than done. We live in one of the worst cities in Illinois and my son is constantly harrassed and picked on. His grades have suffered a lot because of this. He sometimes become so depressed and I try to talk to him and let him know that he is not the only one that is gay. I feel so sorry for my son. He truly is a wonderful child. I sit up at nights and cry. My heart hurts so bad for him. No child should have to endure peoples ignorance. I pray that he be strong and come out on top. If you can help me at all please let me know. Thank You. You are a wonderful person.

Hi there Ellen.
My name is Kristen Hill. I’m from Chandler, AZ and I have a problem.
Bored yet?
Well I’m a senior this year and I recently got accepted to the school of my DREAMS, which would be Purdue University of West Lafayette, IN. And if you can tell that’s two different states. So even though I got accepted to one of the best schools in the universe-personal opinion- I have to pay out-of-state tuition, which unfortunately is around thirty-six thousand a year. That’s not including my housing; I’m not staying in a dorm so that in two years I can apply for residency and only pay twelve-thousand. I filed my FASFA forms and was not eligible for Financial Aid. Apparently my mother makes too much money, which I’ll be honest is around the fifty thousands. But she’s a single parent and I know that she can’t afford to put me in Purdue without going broke next year. As for my father, he doesn’t want me to go to Purdue because it is too expensive. I understand that but I also understand the importance of great education, and having a degree from a school like Purdue is worth my last desperate attempt at getting some financial help. I know that asking for money isn’t the best thing to do when you do not know the person, but I filed for aid and scholarships and so far I’ve only got twenty-three hundred.
I wish I was part of an organization so at least to someone I would be worth the donation. I promise that if you can help me or find a company that can help, I will spend every day giving back to the community. I would be the most thankful person in the world because I understand that you just can’t be giving money to anyone and same goes for companies. I’ll give you any information you need so that I can prove to you that I indeed need this help and that I have been accepted to Purdue. And to add to my desperateness I need to let Purdue know I accept their admittance by May 1st. If this letter does not get through to you or you find that at this moment you are unable to help me, I will accept Purdue and pull out as many loans as I need to so I can reach all my dreams.
Thank you for your time. I greatly appreciate you and your show, which I watch religiously with my brother. Have a spiffyfanstactular day.

Love ,
Kristen

PS.
Spiffyfanstactular means Spiffy-Fantastic-Spectacular. And I have thought of a not-real-organization, Help-Kristen -get-an-Education. (It rhymes) (:

Hi Ellen,

Just wanted to let you know that your wonderful talent brings a smile to my face. I don't want a thing. Just remember that your gift and talent make a wonderful contribution to the world.

I love that you care so much for animals. What a plus for an already wonderful person.

My husband and I rescued a golden retriever after Katrina. She was abused terribly and left out in the storm. When we got her she was about to leave this world. However, isn't it wonderful what love and devotion can accomplish. She is doing quite well. She thinks I rescued her but in reality she rescued me! I would love to send you a picture of her but I don't think you can attach it here.

If you are in New Orleans anytime soon, come see us. (I'm sure your talented staff can find me)I am in a little town called Ponchatoula, Louisiana. You might have gone to school with my sisters at Grace King High.

Again,Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent of laughter with the world.

Much love,
Roberta Hoppmeyer

P.S. You know, you look alot like Princess Diana! Has anyone told you that?

I hope you can get him on your show so that millions of people can feel it too. We need to moved.

God bless you,

Hi Ellen:
I wanted to let you know you're show is a highlight for me and when I work from home, I make a point of tuning in (and dancing!) I thought you might want to see what life is like for non-celebrity 50 year old women in the United States. If you wondered: "What would it be like if Portia and I lived in the country as non-celebrities?"

I have a daughter who in a week must decide which college she will attend for theatre and English. She may be a couple hours away or 12 hours away. I am trying to support either decision, but secretly feel heartbroken about the farther university! My 15 year old son has a rock band (in a barn) and I am surprised how much I enjoy hearing them play! There is nothing as beautiful as raw creative energy – harnessed in teen boys. They act all cool, but still run around and play outside after practice. Next week is my 21st wedding anniversary. I walk about 15 miles a week, sometimes more. Each summer we can about 100 quarts of organic tomatoes from our garden. I own my own company as an environmental scientist. I live in a big old country home in a small town near the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia mountains and try to be positive about life. Your show helps me stay thinking that way! I attribute being positive to my good health. Just wondered if you ever thought - what would my life look like if I lived in VA with 2 teens? You and Portia are welcome here anytime to visit - but we have no air conditioning – so be warned it is hot if you come to see local fireworks this summer. Even still - you're both welcome!
Life in the non-celebrity world,
Jilly

Hi Ellen, Hows it going. Well I am writing you this to tell why I would love the hybrid. I am a younger mother of two my fiance and I are trying to svae up for our wedding but repairs to our house and repairs to our car keep making it impossible. A new car would take the worries away of driving a unsafe car with my two small children in it go away. Ellen the main reason is because I am really into saving the earth and a hybrid is the way to go. I want mym children to grow up on a safe healthy planet and if everyone would step up then that could happen. I love you and your show. GO GREEN! hug a tree save the planet!

Dear Ellen, I love you and I love your show. I'm a 51 year old grandma who needs to exercise and I had the greatest idea for you and for me! I can't help but dance with you and your audience each morning. I look forward to it each and every day. It gets my blood going and then it hit me! You should do a 30 minute dance video (with an audience, of course). Your music is great and your dance style rocks. You'd make another million bucks and I and those like me would have a great new fun way to kick the ol' metabolism in high gear. Thanks for your consideration of my idea and keep up your good works. You're great. Love, Sam

Hi Ellen my name is Chris Amarante, im emailing you in regards to winning the GMC Yukon Hybrid, now im sure u get alot of these :) but i would just like to let you know that i watch your show EVERY morning at work. Im a busser at Gun Club Cafe in Royal Palm Beach Florida and we have Tv's in the restaurant so im able to see you everyday. Its a wonderful feeling to see someone so happy and thoughtful to people that you dont even know, you are a very kind person and in turn that puts a smile on my face every morning. Im 19 years old and ive lived in FL almost my whole life, I had lived in Boca Raton for a long time and my mom had decided to move to Sebastian FL which is 3 almost 4 hours north of Boca and it crushed me! :( i was in my senior year at highschool and i didnt know what to do, i had become very depressed and just stopped going until we moved. I had no choice though because it was getting to expensive for us to still live there so i had to go with her. I didnt want to start a new school because it was my senior year and i would have known no one up there so i started to work at Quiznos and i had used my bonds from when i was a baby to get a car which is a 1997 Oldsmobile achieva, let me tell you looks can be decieving! my mom had to help me so much with repairs to the car all the way from leaks to getting a new vehicle pass lock system because my car would not start, all the repairs had cost almost another car and i had gotten the car for $2800, Ive been trying to get my life back on track and i had gotten my GED and now work in west palm beach living at my girlfriends house, You would put such a huge motivation in my life to win this car it would be a dream come true, i plan on starting college in the fall and its going to be real hard to work and go to school to save up for a new car, and mine is coming to an end probly very soon! :(. You have plenty of these to read and im sure its going to be hard for you to pick someone, but i just want you to know it would mean the world to me, thank you so much ellen for just taking the time out of your day to read this.
