Dear Ellen and fans!

I have come here on the behalf of my cousin Kyle Hickok, and to tell you the amazing responses my family have experienced thru so many caring people who have posted emails on his website!! Especially thank you Kelly Wilson whom we don't personally know, who seemed just adamit about posting on all the sites here!! lol...and annoyed a few people i saw!! But we truely thank you for your concern Kelly and appreciate what you have done!!

Heard through the grapevine ellen you accually called my uncle wayne hickok, and asked him what kyle wanted for his birthday, his response was, a laptop!! Was this true? That was absolutely awesome of you to do if you really did that!! Not very many people would take time out of thier busy schedules to do something like that!!

Kyle is truely an amazing kid!! Anyone who has ever heard about him thru the loads of emails, some of which are exactly the same on here, just reposted several times over. lol cute!! Can say he is a true inspiration to so many people across the globe!!

Every day I get on his website and have a good cry when I see so many people across the usa, and even in australia, who have cared enough to send him thier prayers, I don't think any of you who have contributed in that respect realized what a service it is to myself and my family!! Brings tears to my eyes reading the posts people have left!! I know for my aunt Lisa, Kyles mom, she uses that website for support. There are days when she is so disheartened, watching what her son is going thru, when she gets online and goes to the sites and sees so many caring people, its her therapy!! The prayers are being answered every day!! Thats all we ask for. She doesn't want money and neither does the rest of the family, that 12 year old boy just needs lots of love and prayers.

I will not go into his story, but I will give you the site if anyone is interested in reading his story!! I really encourage all of you to read the guestbook. Thats where it shows truely the heart of the people!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful easter. And again thank you kelly and ellen both!!

We do an Easter Egg Hunt every year & put money in each egg. Random amounts [25 cents, 10 cents, $1.50, $1.20, etc.] Everyone is allowed 10 eggs each, then they come inside & count thier money. This year though, I told everyone there was 1 egg with $50 in it. I was lying of course, but it kept the kids busy outside for the whole day ;)

I would have. I dis last year even though the youngest in our family is 11, but I live in S. Florida and it rained this year.

I hide EASTER eggs for my folks! They used to always hide 'em for me...it's funny now, 'cause we know all the favorite hiding places. They are in their 80s and I love to be a kid with them again this time of year. For each egg that's found, (and believe me, over the years a few have been discovered later!), a blessing is counted. Those yet to be discovered eggs, (the hide-aways), are blessings of which we needed to be reminded. Check it out though, new hiding place...inside a baggie, taped to the inside of the tank on the comode! Hee! Talk about undiscovered blessings...hmmmmmmmmm...

Of course, I help the grandkids dye and decorate on Saturday and then hide them Sunday morning before they wake up. But the one they like the best is the one at church after the sermon. Those eggs are full of candy and stickers and money and gum. Then they are high all day on sugar and we lock them in their rooms with their computers, playstations and cartoons and don't let them out till all the sugar works it way out. NOt really but almost. We have to force Hamm and potatoe salad down them because they are so full of candy. It is better than Halloween because it is early in the day and guess what, when they wake up the next day, all the leftover sugary stuff has disappeared (unless like my grandson they have stashed part of their haul.) Hope you had a great one. We did.

Dear Ellen,
I am off from work, had surgery on my foot to remove a bunion and fix a hammer toe. I know OUCH!!!! but it really isn't that bad except I have this hugh heavy boot that I have to wear to stalilize the surgery site. Long story short must sit and keep it evevated as much as possible, which is like awful for me. I often said if I was forced to watch daytime TV, would kill me, but THANKS you for a breath of fresh air. I watch your show twice daily, am and pm. and must admit I truly enjoy you, your guests and your whole program. Keep up the great work and I will miss you when I go back to work. Guess that you will be tyvoed every day.
Blessings,
Nancy

We don't hide eggs, we hide baskets at our home. My kids have found their baskets in the weirdest places, like the dryer, hanging in the tree outside, in the clothes hamper, the dishwasher. Our kids know better to challange us,whether we can find a hiding place they don't know about yet.

Happy Easter Ellen! I cannot leave this message without asking everyone to read the message below about Kyle Hickok. I almost didn't click on the site to read about him but I am glad I did. I don't know Kyle or his family but I will be praying for all of them. This boy has been through so much and is still fighting. What a courageous little man he must be. Ellen if I know you, you will do something, anything to help this little man out. Maybe a phone call or something to brighten his day. Call Emeril and have him call Kyle for his birthday. I wish I knew how to get that taken care of for him. What a birthday gift that would be for him. Let's all leave Kyle a birthday message and just let him know people do care, even if they don't know him. Love your show Ellen and what you do for others.

hi ellen happy easter to you and your family,i had an egg hunt today with my grand children and i know i had as much fun as they did!these kind of things keep us young.and theres nothing like it seeing the little ones with the big smile on there face finding and raceing to get that special egg.

Of course we have a hunt! We have one for the really little kids, the older kids, the parents, the grandparents, and the great-grandparents! We really get into it! My dad and uncle hide the eggs for my generation, we each get one! They are REALLY hard to find! We go out to different locations in the city. My generation then hides 2 eggs per adult for their generation, an average size and a really tiny one! Those are even harder because we hide them after our hunt and we like to go for the revenge! We hide the great-grandparents eggs at that time also, just not as hard. It's great! We love the competition! My brother's was once burried in the outfield of a baseball diamond with just a tiny twig coming out of the grass to mark it. Mine was inside an empty pop bottle on top of a dug out. I'm 5'2 and afraid of heights, I had to climb up to get it myself. My dad says that in order to conquer a fear you need to face it head on. Thanks for the push dad. Now I just have a fear of falling.

Dear Ellen,

I was just at your show last week & it was awesome! We had so much fun dancing! Little did I know that when we first came in it was like a freezer in the audience, but as soon as we started dancing we warmed right up! You are so funny & true to everyone. There is no put on or fakeness about you. It is all real! Paris Hilton should be your best friend not you being her best friend! You are the HILTON! I was sure sad that we had to leave & come back to reality. It is sure cold here! It was nice & warm in the 70's when we were there. It was a little chilly for our Easter egg hunt today. In the 40's. Anyways, Happy Easter to you & everyone around you. YOU ARE TRUELY A WONDERFUL PERSON! KEEP ON KEEPIN' ON!!!

Exspecting my first baby in three weeks, I am focused on many other things. I know that I will have many years of hiding eggs & decorating baskets. We spent a wonderful Sunday at church- thanking God for his gift of forgivness and life, that beats eggs anyday!

Hey Ellen and Ellen Fans!

I have been asking people to write Ellen about Kyle Hickok.  Today I am writing to ask that you all say a prayer for Kyle and his family.  Kyle is having a hard time of things right now and could really use the extra prayers.  Though I do not attend church regularly, I strongly believe in the power of prayer.

Kyle's birthday is coming up on March 25th.  I have managed to procure a phone number and an e-mail address to reach Emeril's assistant.  The woman who gave me the number is a Private Events Coordinator for Emeril.  I am hoping that maybe we can get Emeril to call Kyle for his birthday.  A call from Emeril might be just what the doctor ordered.  Kyle probably won't be able to talk but the hope is that maybe hearing Emeril's voice may help in some way.

I have picked up a few things for Kyle for his birthday and will be sending them over night so that they are there on his birthday.  It is my hope that maybe the family will get to see a long awaited smile on Kyle's face.

Please stop by his CaringBridge website to offer a kind word and a birthday wish.  I think knowing that so many people out there are thinking of him on his birthday will really mean a lot to Kyle.  The address is:  http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/kjnh

Thank you all so much for all the messages left already for Kyle, lets try to help the little Warrior Man (as his family calls him) get through this rough time.

All my best to everyone and a very Happy Easter!

Kelley Wilson

Dear Dottie Dearest, My twelve year old daughter is in the kitchen preparing eggs as I type. Tomorrow, my eldest niece will bring her six and three year olds, and my sister and her other two girls, twenty-two and fourteen will be here for the hunt. The eggs usually get hidden two or three times. My mother has 1.25 acres of natural yard. Everyday is like a walk in the forrest. No manicured lawn here. Birds of all types nest here. There is a wood pecker putting the finishing touches in a dead tree out by the garage. Three cats make sure there are no snakes on this property. The semi-defunct swimming pool has tall grass growing and plenty of tadpoles and frogs. Ewe can here the echo of there croaking in the pool at night, just like a concert. Hawks catch fish from the pond by the high school across the road. I know some of the religious legalisms sported by some denominations of Christianity concerning this holiday, and I also know that Jesus is spoken of daily here and ALL who come here in my family know OF Him and BELIEVE in Him. I KNOW he looks favorably on this family and guides and protects US. If ewe are ever in this area on Easter or any other day, please feel free to drop in. Ewe WILL be welcomed and the invitation SHALL remain open indefinitely. Sincerely, Sphoon

I think Easter should be about what it is. Jesus Christ rising from the dead after suffering a horrible crusification. I know the kids are about the Easter bunny and I have two that I do get a basket for them to share, but the focus is on Christ Himself.

I work in a long term care facility, and yesterday, I held an easter egg hunt...approximately 25 residsents participated...it was really cool to watch them scurry around, and then see their faces when they found one...it was a huge success, and they all really enjoyed it...my co-worker, is holding another egg hunt on Easter sunday...so, I say whoo hoo for easter egg hunts!!!!
p.s. you would not believe the large number of residents who watch, and love your show...when I ask any of them why they love you so much, they all say because you are real...so there you go girl, keep on being you, you're the best

Ellen:

I hope your Easter is amazing!

I like to hide eggs for my sister, Susie. She is in her 50's but it is a bright spot that brings her back to a more joyous time. She is physically disabled and in a lot of pain, so sometimes has to just point at where the egg is and we get it for her. I think I will continue to do this for her as long as I am able.

Hello Ellen, your show is the best. Having a easter egg hunt is awesome when you have kids. It has been a tradition for us for 7 years now and the kids look forward to it every year. We all have so much fun trying to remember where we put them and making sure the kids find them all. Otherwise we will have ants enjoying the treats inside the eggs. Happy Easter Ellen!!!

Hey Ellen, it's so much fun to have Easter Egg hunts! We're having one this Sunday, please come if you're in Nebraska. I prefer the plastic eggs though, because the real ones do tend to rot, and of course there's my dogs and cats and who knows what other animals would come over and steal my grandbabies eggs. We have a big yard, so this year I've got over 100 of those little bugers stuffed and ready to hide! Let me know if you can come out, I'll make you your own basket to carry. Take care, and have a good weekend. Zibby
