After 37 years of doing her show 365 days a year, (We don't air the shows she does on the weekends.) You can still see the emotions of joy and pride in Ellen's face. She can't get enough of doing her show. Most nights she sleeps on the bed that folds out from her chair on the stage. Often, she invites her audience to a studio sleepover. The fact is, that in all these years, Ellen has never left her studio. Sure, she's had her body double stand in, go out to make a personal appearance now and then, but the actual Ellen has never felt the need to be anywhere else. And there's no place she'd rather be than right backstage, when there's only ...30 Seconds To Air.

Hi Ellen! I did watch your show earlier from being DVR'd but I am a night owl and I am just getting around to writing you. I just had to say how funny I thought the whole animal bit was. I am an animal person as well. I have 3 labs and a lab-shep who live at my parents. When I lived there I had at least 2 of them sleeping with me on a full size bed...not a whole lot of room left for me. Since then I got married about 3 years ago to a man I have benn with since my junior year in high school. Anyways, I told him when we got married I had to have a dog b/c I wouldn't know what to do with myself. I got a Landseer Newfoundland as my wedding present...I love her so much. Since then we have bought a boston terrier...they are goofy together but they love each other and make everyone laugh. My story has gone on forever but they love sleeping with us. My 120lb Newf slepps at the bottom of my feet and the boston sleeps in between my husband and I. I basically sleep in feetal position till the oof gets down...she gets too hot. But I wouldn't have it any other way. Well I hope your day goes great!

I just laughed my head-off again at your show. I try to watch everyday. The chef you had was hilarious. I fell down laughing when the smoke came out of your mouth and the look you gave him sent me into histerics. And Paris! Oh my GAWD! Is it because light travels faster than sound that some people seem bright until they speak?
Sorry, she must be brilliant because she designs hair-pieces and shoes and seems to do quite well with that. I like to believe her heart is true and good. Anyhow I really enjoy your show and I wish I could see it live some day.

yep just popped in my Van Morrison CD, "My momma told me they'll be days like this" Anyways liked the begining of the show, I had to DVR it. Was workin @ the doctors office 2-day. So i have a queen.. and like I said before, 2dogs (Shiba-inu & yorkie) I get not so much of the bed. I can feel ya on that one. And 4 some reason I bought leather furniture, yeah why when especially I have Meko my cat, he has made his mark urr, sorry dont believe in havin them declawed. It can be painful to them, gotta go, A griled chz w/provolone sounds real good right now! Keep it Up Homie:)Luv, Krissy

Thank-you Ellen for speaking for the animals. Despite what some other people are saying - I like the way you brought up the spay/neuter point to Paris Hilton. It doesn't matter if she can afford to keep 17 dogs. The mother should have been spayed and if she wants more dogs go get them at at a shelter that euthanizes. I don't know how anyone can be against spay/neuter when 4-5 million adoptable pets are euthanized every year.

Ellen, I love your show! I enjoyed hearing of your animals' sleeping arrangements. My husband, Don, died July 1st, 2005 (Canada Day). We lived in Prince Edward Island, Canada's smallest province. We owned a dog, Rory, and a cat, Shaker. Rory slept under the bed on Don's side. Shaker slept on the outside on my side. Through time, Rory could no longer fit completely under the bed. One night, after we had all settled in, I needed to go to the bathroom. After much deliberation, I climbed over my sleeping husband so as not to disturb the cat. Then I had to sit on Don in order to get off the bed without stepping on the dog's rear end. Neither of us ever got over the fact that I preferred waking him up - we both worked then! I now live with my daughter and son-in-law in Nova Scotia. Now Rory and Shaker wedge themselves in on either side of me every night.

Hello Ellen! I just had to tell you that a local radio station that I listen to had "Gladys" on the other day!!! People were calling in days ahead of time asking when she was going to be on! I love that woman. She is so funny! So, great show today, well, except for Paris Hilton. I do not care for that one!!! But the rest was great. Good job as usual!! Keep up the sense of humor!!
I love the jeans you wore on today's show! But I need to know what kind they are??? And yes, I did sleep with my dogs..but my boyfriend kicked them off the bed! They are too big, an english bulldog and a bull mastiff!

She got rid of them because they did not fit into her lifestyle..I hope Pig and Blanche are in a better place and feel alot of love from there new owners..You just tossed them out
I have just seen a video regarding Paris and her 17 dogs from your show. You know what Ellen?
Well done Paris. Paris can afford to keep her dogs and look after them well. If Paris had 100 dogs and her enviornment was well suited and the dogs were well cared for, that is ok with me as well. The disgusted look on your face, says it all.
Ellen, you seem to forget, you get dogs then give them away. Plus you can afford to keep them.
I like Paris alot..she does not have the heart to give any of her dogs away.
Anyway, I am going to shut-up from talking about your dog in and dog out life, because it really pisses me off the way you talk, act about them. Don't forget also, the two women of Mutts and Mums received alot of hate, death threats because of the way you handled the Iggy situation and whipped up your obbessive fans to verbally attack these two women.
I know you are an animal lover. You need to take a look at your own way first before you start bumping your gums off about other folks.
Paris has nothing to be ashamed about and I hope she has many more puppies to love and love her back.

The pet-sleeping segment today was right on! My fiancee has two kitties who have grown up (they're not fat, just big boned!) and sleep at our feet. Can't roll over without upsetting the girls!
The driver's license photos segment made me smile, too. I work at the county jail, and you know what makes your driver's license photo really look good? A booking photo ...
By the way, I record your shows and play back segments for my sweetie (I changed his life) ... his 14-year old watches your show with me. He told me he likes you, too, but don't tell anyone!
