I am not voting for any of the candidates, I am going to write in Ellen for President!!!! I totally agree STOP the Glitter!! You would make a great President!
ELLEN 4 PRESIDENT!!
Hi Ellen,
Just thought I'd drop by to let you know I'm one
of those who never votes. I don't believe I ever
have and I'm 44 years old. I don't complain about
what happens since I don't vote. I want you to know that finally in all my adult years I am finally going to do it! Yes, I am going to go vote. I am voting for Hillary. To be honest, if she wasn't running I would go with Obama. But now
that we finally have a Woman running it would just
be silly not to vote for her. My momma always said "The best Man for the Job is a Woman".
It's the woman who has the last word in most households. Women are great at multitasking.
Everyone might think Hillary will have Bill to
help but I'm willing to bet she was the one helping Bill when he was the President. He did
a fine job if I do say so my self.
PS.
I forgive you for not choosing me for the road trip.
PSS
I forgive you for not picking me for the GMC also.
I still have nothing but love for you.
Brenda Felan
of Austin Texas
I still believe the perception in this country is it's less shameful to be a sexist than a racist...political correctness is stronger than ever...but you are all alone with y-o-u- in the voting booth and people will hopefully vote with their heads and hearts and not get caught up with Political Idol television. I too, thought Obama reiterates much of Sen. Clinton's ideas and my ear just never discerns what he says as clearly as Sen. Clinton plans. If words are so important to him than he should have known the American people would understand reject over renounce and put an end to his ednorsement by Hitler like Farrakahn...but he said something like "the guy kind of likes me...what am I supposed to do"...it was not OK and thank God Sen. Clinton called pinned him about it. His Illinois church is very suspecious to me too. Rev. J. Wright Jr. has some very white hating sermons that disturb me. I guess all the extra Secret Service Obama has all around him is because he's so loved? I just know at the end of the day there would be two brilliant political minds having conversation and we were doing fine in this country under President Clinton. I love a bargain..2 for 1! I also think she is a fighter and would do better against McCain on any debate. But the country is in love with the political celebrity de jour...can't wait til he falls off his pedestal...broken promises, taxed plans that can only come out of our pockets (my favorite: $4,000 for every college student - gee I wonder why they are supporting him). We're going to be in trouble people. OHIO AND TEXAS...PLEASE VOTE SEN. HILLARY CLINTON!!!
This post is geared towards the citizens of Ohio and Texas. You have an important job to do on March 4th. When you go to vote in your primary, think carefully before you cast your ballot.
If you were watching the debate last night, as I did very carefully, I still believe strongly that Hillary is the best candidate to run this country and to beat McCain in the election. She is definately the better debator than Barrack. He may give good speeches in large crowds, but basically throughtout the debate he only repeated the words Hillary had spoken. How will this man make important decisions facing our country without his crowd?
For him to only renounce Farrakahn's endorsement and not reject him from the start was alarming to me. Why did it take Hillary to force him to reject this endorsement? Yes, there is a difference between renouncing someone who is anti-semitic vs. rejecting someone. I liked the fact that Hillary took a stand on this issue when she was running for the Senate. She didn't care what the cost or outcome would be. She stood up for what she believes in. Yes, she is a fighter, and will fight for what is right for the country till the end. It took to much thinking on his part to finally agree to reject Farrakahn's endorsement.
I think that will not go over well with our relationship with the Israel governmnet.
I don't understand why Tim Russert made such a point about Hillary's tax returns. Frankly, I don't care if they are made public or not. They don't concern me.
I think her health care plans are more important to me. Yes, I believe all children should be covered by a health plan, but I also believe people like me, a small business owner, should have more affordable plans available. I struggle every month just to pay those premiums, sometimes giving up groceries, or paying my heating bills.
Many other countries have universal health care, including Canada, why can't we have the same for everyone!
I wish everyone including Barrack would stop harping on the issue of Hillary's vote for the war in Iraq. If I were in her shoes, after 9/11 I would have voted the same. The Bush administration led us all to believe we would get in and get out, not six years later. The whole country was for it, everyone was upset and ready to fight, whatever it took. Let's move on to now and what needs to be fixed.
I would like to see a debate with the two candidates, and have not the media run it, but people like you and me asking the questions. Let's see how the candidates handle questions coming from our hearts and souls. Let them look into our eyes when they answer our important questions.
Thank you Ellen for allowing us to post on your site our feelings about the most important election we will ever see, at least in my lifetime.
Ellen I don't always get to watch your show but yesterday I caught a glimpse of Hillary Clinton on your show.I was at work so I could not stop and watch but I just want to say thank you. Hillary Clinton is the best person for the job and I have been so sad at how the media has been supporting obama. Please keep talking about her on your show make Americans see she is the best for our President. If they love Obama so much let him be Vice President under Hillary so he can learn more and be president in 2016.I also wish people would stop complaining about Bill Clinton he was a wonderful president and we were not in this kind of trouble when he was in office!!! Really people need to get it together and vote for the person who can do the job right!!! Go Hillary!!!!
Hillary Clinton, on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” implied that she has been treated differently in this campaign because she is a woman. I am aware that sexism exists and is a sad part of our society.
However, I challenge the notion that somehow it’s easier for an African-American candidate than a female one.
There are 14 female U.S. senators: Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.), Olympia Snowe (R-Maine), Susan Collins (R-Maine), Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.), Patty Murray (D-Wash.), Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), Mary Landrieu (D-La.), Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.), Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), Elizabeth Dole (R-N.C.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), and Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.).
There is a single African-American senator, Barack Obama (D-Ill.), who is only the third elected since Reconstruction.
There are eight female governors in America: Linda Lingle (R-Hawaii), Jennifer Granholm (D-Mich.), Janet Napolitano (D-Ariz.), Kathleen Sebelius (D-Kan.), Kathleen Blanco (D-La.), M. Jodi Rell (R-Conn.), Christine Gregoire (D-Wash.), and Sarah Palin (R-Alaska).
There is a single African-American governor, Deval Patrick (D-Mass.).
Women have been elected statewide all over the country, including in many states that Hillary Clinton lost.
She didn’t lose those primaries because she’s a woman, she lost them because her message doesn’t resonate with voters.
To say it any other way is a cheap play of the gender card.
White Males afraid of women in white house!!!!!
Men have been in charge for too long and now it is time for a women to clean house and fix the problems they have created.
Hillary will be the best choice for the President. She is smart and has the experience to take the action needed to clean house and correct all the problems the Bush administration has created. Obama talks great, but I feel that he is not the right person to get the hard tasks ahead accomplished. Bill Clinton had a great 8 years with a robust economy and no national debt, even a surpluss? Bush has wasted billions and has cost many uneccessary lives to be lost. The economoy is in the tank, war is still going on, gas prices will hit $4.00 a gallon. What a big screw up ono bush's term.I am a white male and not afraid to vote for a women who is right for the job.
It's a shame to read comments like "Clinton and Obama should have to take IQ tests to see who wins" Really we are lucky to have two historic and SMART individuals running for the democratic ticket. And yes, Barack is very smart (he was President of the Harvard Law Review) and he has shown through his 20+ years community service and 11 years in legislation that he can bring people together towards solutions and makes the right judgement calls. He's the candidate who from day one will lead us in the right direction.
One more comment about the supposed media bias... as someone who has volunteered on the Obama rapid response grassroots effort, I can assure you that newspapers and media outlets all have their bias (eg. CNN and New York Times for Hillary, and MSNBC and Washington Post for Obama, to name a couple each) I've fended off attacks and distortions of Barack and his record just as Hillary's volunteers have endured. She's down not because of supposed media bias only towards her, but because of her own inability to campaign effectively against Barack, and because Barack is proving to be the stronger candidate with the right balance of experience, judgement and inspiration.
Good job Ellen...supporting Sen. Clinton. I know many of her supporters are disenchanted with the media(I heard Billy Jean King felt like she's been kicked in the gut because Hillary has been treated so unfairly by press). Thank God you came out in support of her yesterday...stay true if she is and has been your chosen candidate (and I'm guessing since she won in Calif. and New York the majority of "industry" people do want Hillary). I wish people would remember that in 2002 Obama couldn't vote to explore the Iraq issue...he wasn't in the Senate...and public was reeling from 9/ll and feeling vulnerable. Also, there is no draft in this country and these young people who enlist do not have their arms tied behind their backs, right? Obama shouldn't get credit for something he most likely would have voted for. HILLARY HAS THE EXPERIENCE, PEOPLE AND THANK YOU ELLEN FOR YOUR PUBLIC SUPPORT...KEEP IT UP AND DON'T BE WISHY WASHY...STAND FIRM...YOU WANT SEN. CLINTON LIKE MILLIONS OF US. All Hillary supporters will most likely vote McCain in November istead of Obama.
Since I retired, I try to listen to you if I'm home. Thanks for the short clip with Hillary.
To paraphrase a quote I saw "I am voting for Hillary, not because she is a woman, but because I am a woman." I am a woman who is disappointed with a media that is not content to present the facts so that we can make up our minds. Rather, they are "interpreting" events and facts and seem intent on promoting their own personalities. I have read the resumes, the books, and the platforms for both candidates, and I'm behind Hillary 100%. I am voting with my mind and my heart. Ellen, thank you for your support.
I guaranatee all the posters above who are so vehemently opposed to Sen. Clinton, and most likely Obama supporters are young men or African American viewers. Hands down Hillary is the smarter candidate (let's give them an I.Q. test to see who gets the nomination). We live in a misogynistic society and the Black man was given the vote 50 years before women...that should tell you something. The press has been pro Obama long before she won Super Tuesday and then our American Idol society jumped on board the popularity train. I agree with Carol above...all the Hillary supporters will be voting McCain...hell I'll go work for the guy. I do greatly appreciate you tho Ellen for having the balls to support her publicly and hope you continue to speak out about until 3/4...when I pray daily that the people of Texas and Ohio stick with their original candidate of choice back in early Feb. when she would have won hands down in majority of states. I can't belive I'm listening to a news program here in LA and they just said "Who does Barack want to play him in a movie?"...jeeze...just proves my point...he's in PEOPLE magazine...on Entertainment Tonight...is this guy really seeking the highest office in our country? I do not trust the future of our Nation with this newbie...Hillary (and Bill) understand the complexities of politics. "Good Day LA" is actually showing you Ellen as playing Hillary or Martha Stewert (they had four actors for Obam). I also want a proud (not arrogant), patriotic Presidend who lived their whole life here being an American citizen...not some citizen of the world. McCain will kick Obama's (and wife's) butt on the Patriotism subject and Americans at the core are proud...all it would take to remind us of that is another 9/ll or tragedy on our own soil. Loved how Hillary got Obama to REJECT not renounce Farrakahn (white hater/jew hater)...he being so big on WORDS should have thought about that!
You know, for all of those with their feathers ruffled because Ellen supports the Senator; what are they doing with all the rest of the media falling at Obama's feet and licking.
You have the right to your opinion and you always will. I said from the start, the media and candidates, themselves, are calling Senator Clinton by her first name, they are judging her on her husband(good or bad), the media as well as liberal comedians hate her guts. I would like to know WHY. I don't want to hear about her husband's affairs, that has nothing to do with the Senator's capability to run the White House.
She could suffer a stroke, start abusing prescription medicine, and take up daylight drinking; and still be smarter than the man they call 'Leader' of our country.
God Bless You Ms. Clinton- you and your stamina.
I think our best choice is John McCain.
Sure, he is an old man, but maybe that is what we need to run this country. I would like a lady President but what all do we know about Hillary. Her husband did some bad things as our President; what can she do to top him? I would hate to imagine. I think I'll vote for McCain.
O K Doke
I'm sorry that you had to ruin my day yesterday with Hillary Clinton. I watch to relax and recover from surgery, but had to change the channel when I saw her Cheshire grin. I could never trust someone who played the old "stand by your man" card when the sex addicted husband made her look like an fool. She never answers questions directly;talks & tallks but never answers the actual question. If you want things to remain the same in Washington, vote for her. If you want change, and want our country to lead the world by example, then Sen. Obama is the right choice for you.
Who we realy need is someone like Ralph Nader to fix things up. He is SO in touch it is scary !!
Check out his web site www.nader.org.
How about Ralph for vice president??
Hillary will need a good running partner. Maybe Al Gore ?? Or dare I say YOU Ellen !!
You heard it here first people.

finally someone has put hillary on tv to show a fun side of her and i am so happy it was on the ellen show. either hillary or barack will make a good president but i hope it will be mrs. clinton. i think she has been treated poorly from the press and as isaid before i am glad you gave her a chance to shine on your show, ROB from baltimore, maryland.
Hillary Clinton would have been a could candidate but she has been taking things too far. Who is she? Is she a graceful opponent? Is she a caddy comic? Is she a mom who has been let down (shame on you)? How is she going to handle the pressure of the white house? I am a woman who has had unpredictable woman bosses - I don't want my country to go there. We need a sensible and stable president.

Nice feature of it is that it focuses on the candidates political positions, instead of other personal characteristics.

It confirmed that I'm voting for the candidate that shares my views. How 'bout you?
Of all the women to be the first to hold the Oval Office, Mrs. Clinton has to be the last choice I'd make. I've never felt that she or her husband were trustworthy or sincere, and the fact that she is still refusing to reveal her tax returns, even after she was asked directly in the debate last night, makes me even more concerned. I appreciate Senator Obama's decision to refuse money from PAC's and federally-registered lobbyists, however. He seems to be the last hope for fighting against the special interests by persuading the American people to pay more attention to government and to hold the politicians to account.
I'm sorry, Ellen, but I think many women are voting for Mrs. Clinton simply because she is a woman. I know of quite a few family members who say exactly that. That way of thinking doesn't serve any of us very well, though. This comment comes from a gay guy who voted for Ms. Huffington for California Governor a few years ago and who is also pleased Mrs. Pelosi made history in 2006 by becoming the first woman to act as Senate Majority Leader, which is the position second in line from the President.
I think L.G.B.T. people, in general, should also be concerned by the fact that President Bill Clinton ran on specific promises that, once in office, he chose not to fulfill. Political calculations, unfortunately, seem to be the couple's stock in trade.

To: Brenda from Austin, I'm glad to hear you support Hillary. I believe alot of people are planning on voting this year because of the hopes of Hillary getting the nomination. I know this is true bacause, my husband who is now 62 years old has never voted in his life and now for the first time has registered to vote, hoping to cast it for Hillary. My daughter has only voted once since she turned 18, she is now 27 and her and hubby also plan on voting hopefully for Hillary. My husband's son, age 40 voted once when he was 18, plans on voting as well. Unfortunately, if Hillary does not get the nomination, no voting in my family from NY. Go out and encourage your fellow Texans to vote in the primary next Tuesday for Hillary!!!! PS: My brother and sister-in law live in Round Rock and will be voting hopefully for Hillary, their first voting since moving to Texas!
