Next Story: Who's That With Ellen?
Trying the kitty litter face mask now. Mixed kitty litter, warm water, honey, and vanilla verbena oil along with other relaxing stress relieving oils and it feels great. Going to rinse now as it has dried. Well off i go to rinse....
so It turned out nice.. soft and firm skin! I feel totally rejuvenated! Even with the face mask, it still doesn't beat the facial.. facials are most exhilarating! but this will definitely do for me for now..
Kitty Litter face mask accually works wonders, me and my sister both have one on now. It does dry very quickly so try to apply evenly and quick. what i used to make my mask was 4 tablespoons of unscented kitty litter, the juice of a small lemon and enough water to make the concoction clay-like
Well I am deffinitly giving this a try ! I don't care for the whole PUTTING LITER ON MY FACE ??? EWW!!! thing..so i will give it a goo !!!
I've been an aesthetician for about 15 years now, and I swear by clay masks, of course the idea of using a high grade clay litter never crossed my mind before, I've always used a volcanic ash bentonite clay called Aztec Secret for masks, it runs about $7 or $8 for a two pound container in health food stores, you can use it with warm water, or a more effective way is to mix it 50/50 with apple cider vinegar. I would be curious to hear if anyone has tried the litter mask with cider vinegar, and what their results were.
Do NOT use SCENTED!
WHY?
Because the toxins in the scented can irritate the skin, and may cause breakouts, or do a bit of damage.
Also try adding:
Aloa Vera,
Lemon
Orange
Lime
Rose hips
--Any herbs that are great for the skin! its really really nice!
This mask is great, and do NOT reuse kitty litter your cats use!The scoop will decontaminate the litter!
Go buy unscented, non-clumping, 100% bentonite kitty litter :3 it's really good for people with normal or oily skin.
CAUTIONS!!: if your skin is already very dry but
you still want to detoxify your skin with equal-
ranking-spa-treatment kitty litter,
try using more moisturizers after the mask and
adding in rose hip oil.
AND if you have extremely oily skin you should use this mask every 2 days, and for normal or dry skin, once a week. Remember! moisturizer is needed!
I've tried it and it's great. It makes my pores look microscopic. The Bentonite clay absorbs dirty, oil, and bacteria.
Here's some tips:
- ONLY use clay kitty litter
- makes sure it is unscented
Mix a small amount with hot water and warm up in the microwave for 10 seconds. Mix and apply. Don't forget to moisturize afterward because the mask is very drying.
Will the scented stuff hurt me that much? It's the only stuff I have.
I will also second the comment on the yogurt and oatmeal mask - it's wonderful on the skin.
Hi Joey! Thanks for your very helpful KL review! Im heading off to the pet store tomorrow. Would you mind sharing the Brand name of KL you used?
Thanks, Bonnie
I just did the cat litter facial, and its awesome! The clay used in cat litter is sodium bentonite, a volcanic ash clay used in most expensive clay facials. Its closely related to calcium bentonite, also known as "fullers clay." Use pure UNSCENTED and chemical free litter, you don't deal with the smell and there are no damaging chemicals, and also mix in a little lemon juice and maybe some rose oil. In my particular mixture, I used a few drops of tea tree oil for a little extra acne combat. The results? WOW! My skin feels just as wonderful as after and expensive facial; my pores are tightened, my skin is soft, and glowing...and it cost me pennies! Sodium bentonite pulls moisture from the skin, including oils, so follow up with a nice moisturizer (I use weleda rose - YUM!). To those who claim to be "aestheticians" (you know they only protest because they have something to lose from this!) on here, you CRUSH the granules first (with the bottom of a glass, for instance), you don't rub raw rock on your face! DUH! After mixing with water, this creates paste that you smooth on your face, then ~gently~ rub off in small circles with a moist washcloth after letting it dry. For the poopoo people out there. Get over it. Its just a bag of clay. But if you want to pay 100 times more for the SAME EXACT THING, its your loss. But for those who let go of the name, your wallet and skin will love you.
Hi Steph, I was wondering..which Brand of Kitty litter did you use? thanks :-)
From extensive online research, It's difficult to find a litter which is sodium free, even some of the non clumping 100% natural litters have Sodium Bentonite (very worrisome) as the labels are very vague.
~snoooooreZzzzz~ My gosh people, unless your 12, you're comments are not even funny.
As for the Kitty litter mask..I decided to be your Guinea Pig and give it a go.
Here goes: A few moments ago, I applied the chunky dark grey goop to my freshly worshed face. hmm..Looks sorta gross, ...Feels kinda nice-gross.
I shall now sit and chillax for a while until it is dry. So no biggy. I detect no odor. The tightening effect is quite relaxing.
How long does cat pee take to dry anyways?
OMG! I was only kidding.
Yes, it was NEW litter and NOT USED litter ~sigh~ that "used or not used" crap got old about 50 posts up..do any of you actually read what the previous poster wrote? ug. Bunch of copy CATS!!!!lol
sorry about that..back to the mask:
10 minutes later: ooooohhh and Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh..my skin feels uber firm and horribly refreshed! I'm less crabby too! I swear this mask took a good 5-20 years off my attitude.. plus, freshened my pruned up face. I love it!
Seriously!
This Kitty litter mask is the next best thing to the MUDD Spa Treatment masque which was sadly discontinued. Previously, $4 a tube, now selling for $65 to desperate fools on ebay. Ha! this stuff is only $3 a 20lb bag! I win!
If you try it..YOU will WIN too! :-)
Now, turn off those computers, lift your tushes off that chair.. kick the cat outta the box, get yourself some litter and give this mask a try! it's purrrr-fect! :-)
