Sadley .... I love glitter .... I don't want to, I'm not 5 .... but I do :) If it was socially acceptable at my age I would even wear glitter and sequins .... just for kicks! :O
come on ellen,
do you want to make TINKERBELL cry?
fairy dust & glitter are one in the same -
you can't ban glitter- it makes kid's crafts, christmas decorations, cars, boats, scrapbooks, solid gold dancers, cheerleaders, and even tinkerbell SPARKLE!
i am a product developer creating glitter for all the major craft retailers-
designing products like glitter glue (liquid glitter), large hex cut glitter, extra fine cut glitter, craft glitter, holographic glitter, metallic glitter, rainbow finish glitter, mini glitter shapes, chunky glitter, fairy dust ...... you get the picture.
we have more glitter than you can shake your magic wand at.
want some samples for your audience?
want to learn all about glitter and see how it is made?
it would be fun I promise -

I love anything that sparkles!!!! My husband tried to band it from our house but that did'nt happen. I love it.
Glitter is like pine needles from a Christmas tree!! six months from now your still vacuming it up from the carpet!!!!!!
Glitter sticks to carpet and walls and won't come out!
Along with glitter is the never ending presence of confetti, which you will find for years to come when it is released into the atmosphere!
Ellen, my husband & I love you. Thanks, too, for sharing Lurch. We'd never seen a Watoosee?! I'm glad he has such a good home now thanks to you.
I have a gymnastics and cheerleading training business. When we used to have all-star competitive cheerleading until I got fed up with it; the coaches and girls got into wearing glitter on their eye make-up. I hated it and didn't want it, but I gave in. One of the little girls began to have eye sight issues; red eyes, blurring, pain. She went to her doctor twice and he diagnosed and treated her for conjunctivitis. After more weeks of the same symptoms, her mother took her to an eye specialist and found that a piece of glitter had lodged itself in her cornea and the eyeball was actually growing around this piece of glitter!! SO, if glitter is to be banned, ban it from EYE MAKE-UP.
Ellen,
I love your show and watch as often as I can even at work--you see I am the designer for Michaels stores--you know the Largest retail craft store in the USA!!!! Well glitter is a part of my life--I live, breathe and wear glitter on a regular basis--Children love glitter-Teachers know that children love glittr--and designers know that children and teachers LOVE glitter. When someone askes me about why I have glitter on me I just respond "That it is my sparkling personality". We can't ban glitter from the world--there is too much YUCK to deal with on daily basis that glitter just adds sparkle to an otherwise dull and boring world. Banning glitter would be like taking peanut butter out of the reeses peanut butter cups--it's just not american.
As a major producer of glitter, I would personally love to invite Ellen and her staff to tour our facility and see how it is made. I know you would grow to love it and rethink your legislative push to ban it!! We really make the world sparkle. Linda Dickens and the employees of Sulyn Industries.
OMG! Ellen love your show watch it everyday! You always get me motivated for the day. My all time favorite interview / show I have seem so far, is when you had Toby Keith on there. I just can not get enough of that man he is so FINE! Bring him back on the show again! And you can share this little story with him if you would like. I joined his fan club right? Well when I got my welcome packet it had a fake tattoo in it, I didn't want fake, so I had it permentaly tattooed on the left side of my chest (no not on my boob above that). The tattoo is small and is of Toby bending his head down holding the rim of his hat. As for the glitter I use it once in awhile to sparkle up Toby (LOL!)
Can't wait to see Toby Keith back on your show!
Later

Anyway this year is my last year of high school and after that im going to take a year off before going off to university as i would love to travel america. hopefully ill get the chance to be in your audience it would be my dream come true.
thanks for being you!
Hi Ellen,
Here is a funny story that involves glitter and I swear it is the truth. One day at work we were making posters for around the office. Needless to say I must of gotten some on my face and chest an didn't realize it. Later on I took our four kids out to get something to eat. While standing at the counter one of them said mom why do you have glitter on your face? I replied oh I must have done that at work. The guy next to me (who was a construction worker and very hot to look at)calmly asked me if I was a stripper. I was so shocked I laughed and replied no I wasn't a stripper. My kids laughed and said gee mom we thought you worked in an office. So I voted no for banning glitter in the United States.

I agree with you, Ellen!! Bein' a guy and all, it's even worse when yer tryin' to be macho-macho man! LOL Thanks fer a great show Ellen and HAPPY EARLY 50TH BIRTHDAY!! I'm a half century old too...no worries...just watch out fer the glitter critters. :)
GLITTER SHOULD BE BANNED IN HAIRDRESSERS, NAIL SALONS, RESTURANT WORKERS, HOSPITAL WORKERS,POSTAL WORKERS, MINISTERS AND STAFF, RECEPTIONESTS,GUM TOO. GOOD GOSH , DON'T GET ME STARTED ON GUM.
How can glitter be banned in the world? I am a preschool teacher and the children love to glitter everything they can. We could not do Christmas without glitter, no spin art without glitter and no sparkly winter pictures without glitter. GLITTER ROCKS!
Hi Ellen, oh man I was laughing so hard when I saw your segment about glitter!
It reminded me of Demtri Martin- stand up comic, I'm sure you've seen him- so funny. One of his jokes is-
"Glitter is the Herpes of craft supplies!"
He is so funny- you should have him on- do a little bit, maybe open with the glitter joke, with a clip from today's show... comic gold. hey you hiring, need another producer, cuz this is some great stuff I am coming up with!
all the best!
My niece Lindsay got in hot water with her superior at her job teaching kindergarten. The glitter was everywhere and seemed to grow over time instead of diminish. Ms. Jan banned Lindsay from ever using glitter again! Then Lindsay was caught mimicking Ms. Jan when her co-worker was using glitter with her class and Ms. Jan said snarkily,"SHE can it use because she uses it RESPONSIBLY!"
So, don't ban it,just use it responsibly!
P.S. My sisters and I think Lindsay is a natural comedian and is wasting her talent in Pre-K. You should give her a shot on your show! C'mon; do it!

If glitter is made large enough is it then considered confetti?
