50 is what YOU make of it; not how everyone else thinks you should be acting at that age. I still play softball(2nd base for about 25 years now): I bowl(172 average); I do pilates, kickboxing and aerobic workouts with free weights. I am 55 and feel great most of the time(I have lymes disease,but it doesn't have me!) Happy Birthday, Ellen!

Happy 50th! You honestly look like you haven't reached 30 yet! My daughter, Jenna, shares your birthday and she will be one this year! It's her first birthday and your 50th! How great is that!? First of all, erase from your mind any & all NEGATIVE stigmas about turning 50!! I'm 58 now, but I want to share with you my 50th B'day.
I am a die-hard Bruce Springsteen fan. I started following his career in the 1970's, but had NEVER been able to see him perform. For my 50th birthday, our sons, Mark & Paul,(the BEST sons in the Universe!!) gifted me with 2 tickets to see Bruce live with the beloved E Street band (2000 in Orlando, FL). I was in a walker at the time due to a traffic accident that injured my spine. My husband seated me, & then went to find the bathroom. While he was gone, the guy that goes around handing out the bracelets so that you can get up close to the stage came & we made eye contact. He saw the walker & passed me by (woe was me!), but we still had a WONDERFUL experience! Now, as I am part Native American, I want to tell you, that your birthday is celebrating the fact that you survived your 50th year, & are ready to start to celebrate your 51st year. So if you were worried about "turning" 50, that actually happened a year ago & you are just going to celebrate your 50th year of life that you just lived in 2007! Get it!? You have to reach each new birthday in order to celebrate it. You had to live thru your first year of life to celebrate your 1sr birthday. YOu have had 50 Easters, Christmases, Valentines Days, etc. SO, since you are all ready to celebrate surving your 50th year, may you be blessed with a 51st year or JOY, LOVE, ACCEPTANCE, CONTENTMENT, ADVENTURE (go to Africa, I would if I could), and wonderful HEALTH!

Hi Ellen,
You know everytime we hit a new milestone in our life concerning our age, we think that OMG, "I can't believe that I am this old". But you know it only gets better, yes, there are the days when this and that hurts. But thank the good Lord above for the moments when some little smile that you gave to someone, or a kind word you spoke had lifted up that persons day. And they in turn lifted up someone else.

I love your show, watch it all the time here in australia. you are the best talk show host.
I feel as if every guest is a close and personal friend and you are just sitting down enjoying a chat and a cuppa with them, there just happens to be an audience and some cameras there!!!
