Something's Fishy

Today for lunch I am having a Maine lobster roll sandwich with lemon poppy cole slaw and a bowl of pea soup. It makes me feel like I'm on a New England seashore. As a matter of fact, I'm wearing my yellow slicker as I write this. I'm pretending to breathe in the saltwater spray as the waves pound against my skiff.

What's the difference between a skiff and a dingy? What's the difference between a pier and a jetty? What kind of fish do fish sticks come from? Are there schools of breaded stick fish swimming in the ocean? By the way, this sandwich is delicious! And the soup is hearty fare, Matey! Arg! Sorry, I turned into a pirate for a moment. This sandwich is just the thing for me to keep up my strength so that I can haul in my comedy nets for my daily catch of jokes.

Enjoy your lunch, land lubbers!

Ellen

Hey Ellen,
I finally gave up trying to get Sean to put the knife the proper way but don't you think he could at least give you a soup spoon to eat your soup with??? I would ask for a double helping of the sandwich and skip the pea soup (YUK) or maybe substitute it with New England clam chowder. Keep dancin

MMMM Lobster. I haven't had lobster for years. I fell in love with it when I visited Maine 20 years ago. We were supposed to go last summer but then were reunited with our granddaughter and took her to Disney instead. But the hopes are up for this summer. I am having surgery in a month and will be off of work for 6 weeks, so I plan on doing alot of research and planning!!!!

Lobster here I come.Breakfast lunch and dinner.

Ellen-

I am from New England and grew up in a quaint,
coastal, community (Scituate, MA). I live in New Hampshire now but not too far from the
coast. I love New England and probably know
some answers to those questions. But, I am
always leary about ordering a Lobster Sandwich
out at a restaurant, they might be too skimpy!

I suppose I could make one at home but that
is too much work! The leftover shells smell and all that!

Love you Ellen,

Tina

Ellen,
I love finding out what you have for lunch. I sit at work and eat the same thing everyday. A tuna fish sandwich, goldfish and some madnarin oranges. So I like to check out what you eat while watching your show. Unfortunately, my computer has been broken, but now I'm using someone elses. Anyway, back to the point! Maine lobster rolls are the best. And the sandwich looks and sounds yummy. I don't know how it sounds yummy. Maybe it just say's "hey, Im yummy. You shoudl really try a bite. You know you want to". You are so lucky to be able to eat such interesting cuisine. I went to maine (on vacation) to get real maine lobster, and never got a chance to actually eat any :( Well, enjoy dinner.

I live in Maine. I loved your blog about your yummy lobster roll!
I'm with a terrific guy who has havested the Maine ocean for 12 years. He dives for urchins and digs for clams. He has some great stories about his years on the ocean. He also was a commercial fisherman in California for years.
I spent a day on the clam flats and on the urchin boat and watched him dive to get an idea of his world. Its definatly a MANS world! It was a hoot! one guy tried to "impress me by eating a raw clam, he then thew up about 1/2 hour later! And he said he had bad balony!!!
I love the ocean, Hate seafood! Hate lobster, and clams. Odd huh!
Geoff has to get a new career though because in Maine conservation keeps limiting the days he can work! So he's going to work on ships back on the WEST COAST, I'm sad to have him go for 3 weeks and home for 10 days but We've gotta live!!
Maybe I'll make it out to see you someday, but I'm so afraid of driving outside of my little world that I could never drive the Acadia to you. You'd be the highlight of any visit to CA. But Did you know there is a beautiful place in Maine called Acadia National Park on the Ocean? You shoud visit it and eat a Lobster roll here.
You keep me laughing everyday. The shopping spee today gave made me laugh to tears!
thanks for everyday you share yourself with the world. You truely make a differance in my life EVERY DAY.

Ok Not sure how to sign up to win that FABULOUS ACADIA, but sign me up!! I nearly passed out today when I turned on your show and you were giving away my DREAM car. I picked this car out this summer on a test drive, have been saving ever since, only to rob the piggy to fix my old broken cars!!! I have searched your site for an entry, but the only one I see is the California drive for Ellen! Don't get me wrong, I want to see you of course, are you kidding, but my mother is putting her name in for this contest and has threatened my life if I get this trip-only so she can cruise in my DREAM vehicle without me!! Shame on her and her deserving little thought!! haha Oh Ellen, how oh how will I sign up for this? I so LOVE you and your show. Understand I drive a bright red minivan that screams mother of several! I can't say on here what it would take for someone to even look my way. I dream of this Acadia- seeing how I live only 30 miles from Acadia park in Maine! Come see me, we'll feed you all the Maine LOBSTA you want!!

Sorry Ellen Lady but do you really call this pea soup it looks green water
real pea soup is with a lot of bacon, pork and vegetable
first and the most important thing take a paw[leg] from a pig and from this make you broth than the
pea,s,bacon,pork and vegetable[much of kohlrabi,winter carrot]
and you eat it with rye bread and ofcourse the paw [leg]from the pig mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
love it,real winter food

Ellen: What is your reason for using a lower case e to start your name. I teach children to start their name with a capital letter, because it is a proper name.
Is it to be humble or to get attention like you are getting from me now?
Curiosity kill the cat,but satisfaction brought it back. Thanks,
Silvia
