My Thought...And I Do Have One

EVERYONE KNOWS IT'S WINDY

It was windy today. The rain is over and the sun is finally out, but that wind is something else. If I had hatches, I’d batten them down. They call these winds the Santa Ana winds. It sounds very peaceful and soothing like a pretty song. “The Santa Anna winds are blowing butterflies on my mind…” Apparently these winds come from a place called Santa Ana. I guess they like to get out of town once in a while. “Hey, let’s blow down to the big city and raise the roof!” It’s a whipping wind. Trees are falling, lines are down, ...my bonnet blew away. The bees that were in there flew off.

I saw the answer, my friend, it was blowin’ in the wind. I’d tell you what the answer is, but that would be cheating. Not that I have anything against the wind. I love the wind. The wind is the wind beneath my wings. It’s just that it’s the windiest I’ve ever seen here. I expected to wake up this morning with my house on top of a witch. Everyone’s skin is dry and chapped from the wind. People in Los Angeles usually look so fresh and clean. Today they look a little crusty …like stale sourdough bread. Don’t worry, this wind will be over soon. In the meantime, may the wind be at your back ...unless you’re a magician. Magicians like the wind from the front. It makes their tricks more dramatic.

Actually, they are really called "Santana" winds. Yes, like the rock band from days ago, not the city in California "Santa Ana." It seems we're all the victims of the Telephone Game here.

I've been going through some devastating financial trauma with a Government Agency punishing me for having an interest in going to school, following their rules, qualifying, and being approved (I'm about to lose everything!). It's really difficult to smile lately, except for an hour a day - treating myself to your show!

I have followed your career for years. You are such an inspirational and generous (or ...generes) person - ever think of working for the Government? ELLEN for President has a nice ring to it, doncha think?

Hi Ellen,

We had winds in Pennsylvania on Tuesday night. The winds were over 65 miles an hour, and the whole house shook. There was a strange whipping sound for several hours. Finally, at about 5:30 AM the whipping sound stopped when a section of the shingles blew off of the roof. When I went outside Wednesday morning, I actually looked to see if the house had landed on a witch. It had not, but I could swear I saw a monkey flying overhead.

Hi there to all the animal lovers in the world. Please forward this web site below to as many of your friends as possible today. The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated everyday to abused and neglected aimals. It takes less than a minute to go to their website and click on"feed an animal in need' for free. It's in the purple box in the middle of the page. This does not cost you a thing.Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising..Please Ellen pass this web site to your viewers so we can make it right for them..

Hi Ellen. In all my 53 years of being on this wonderful earth, this is the second time I am contacting a celebrity. The first was Santa Claus back when I was about 8 years old. Yep, I think you're right up there with Santa in more ways than one. Today I registered and am requesting tickets to your show. I run my own business and have two great almost adult kids. I loved your Trader Joe's trip on your show today. I thought you were going to hit that kid in this lady's grocery cart when you were tossing the oranges(?) from the refrigerated section. Whew, that was close. Anyway, I tune into your show regularly on days I am home from my work. You ALWAYS put a laugh on my face, always!! Lastly, when you had that incident with the puppy and cried, I cried along with you. That's what I mean...your show...you can laugh and cry in a matter of moments!!
Love you,
Helen

Hello Ellen,

I'm a nurse from the beautiful tropical caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago. Here, music of all types, and dancing, is a way of life. Trust me, we just have to hear a beat, and we're ready to party!

Ellen, I can't see your show everyday, but it's always the highlight of my day when I can. Wish I could look at your show daily. It never fails to put a smile on my face.

Well, just wanted to tell you how much I love and admire your strength, humour, generousity, and realness. You are one of my heroes. I'm inviting you to visit my beautiful islands, get away from those winds, and see what our dancing is all about, as our Carnival is on coming Monday and Tuesday! It's the biggest and in my biased view, :), the best street party in the world. Imagine, almost the ENTIRE island partying together!

Love u, love u, love u Ellen. Keep being the beautiful human that we are blessed to know, even if just through the screen.

I hope one day to meet you, 'til then, KEEP DANCING and smiling....

You're talking about the wind? Try being in Calgary, Alberta where not only have we had the bitter cold this week, but with a nasty windchill on top of that. It was -67 degrees Fahrenheit earlier this week! Thankfully, it's warming up now a bit (it's only -17 Fahrenheit now, haha). Here's to hoping it warms up and the wind dies down in Cali for you. Have a good weekend Ellen!
